Chapter 11 - The False Dragon II

'I can't believe it's not even been six months since I woke up in this life...or has it been past that? To me, the days and nights blend together so I can barely keep track of one thing,'I thought as I glided through the air, Tolos, Daario and Grey Worm put behind me while I stared at the open sea in front of me.

Soon, I knew it would not look so open anymore as I arrived at the ruins of Old Valyria and truthfully, I was hoping that there wasn't anything too dangerous there.

Oh, humans were not an issue I was concerned about at all given how dangerous the place was to them. No, my biggest concerns were the firewyrms, the chimera monsters that were probably still left from the days of the Valyrian dragonlords and whatever the fuck was strong enough to injure Balerion the Black Dread.

'Then again, whatever scarred him needed to be something that could eat a shit-ton of food proportional to their body weight so maybe there isn't anything of that size there? I don't know. This is just my brain trying to keep itself calm,'I thought before I perked up as a stench soon entered my nostrils.

It was not unlike the smell made by the flames of my sisters and I, like that of charred bone mixed with sulphur. As I looked into the distance, I stared at heavy black plumes twisting and writhing against the clouds, molten rivers being the source of said smoke clouds.

My gaze flickered from the ruins through which the molten rivers flowed to the broken spikes jutting out from the ground as well as the entire streets that were drowned in hardened stone, a shiver travelling up my spin as everything felt dangerous.

'Nope, turning around,'I thought as I flapped my wings and turned, but I froze mid-turn when I saw something shifting in the distance.

At first, I thought it was just one of the spires or one of the ruined buildings collapsing in on itself, but as it continued to move, I realized it was something far worse.

I could hear the low growl even from where I was gliding as the creature unfurled from the ruin, wings like that of torn sails stretching against the fiery sky as old, scarred membranes caught the glow of the molten rivers beneath.

Its scales were dull, a mud-rbwon and patchy, some showing white at the edges and yet, as its dark red eyes focused on me, I groaned as the monster pulled itself free from the rubble.

'Oh, fuck me sideways. That is not a firewyrm. I guess Balerion did fight something,'I thought as the dragon coughed up smoke and reddish-gold flames, shaking his head that had horns curved forward like a bull that was chipped and scarred most likely from battle.

The next moment, I flinched as it let out a guttural roar, the sound sounding painful to my ears as if it was forcing itself to do so.

"Is that a challenge?",I growled out loud, feeling my pride flaring before I shook it back as I turned and decided to fly back.

'Wait, if I do go back, it might be seen by the people of Tolos so the mission would be jeopardized. Fuck!', I cursed as I turned back, watching as the dragon slowly flapped its wings.

Each beat lifted it higher and higher until it was soon in the air, letting out another roar that made me frown as I watched it struggle to fly towards me.

"FUS RO DAH!",The Shout echoed from my throat and across the waters, slamming into the dragon with the force of a strong gust as I watched it stagger and glare at me.

With a grunt, I dove down towards the water, diving in with a spin before I began to swim towards the island. It was not long before the water in front of me exploded and I spun to the side, narrowing my eyes when all I saw was a large shape nearly five times my size chasing after me.

'Oh, this is just like with Vhagar and Aemond against Arrax and Lucerys,'I thought with a frown as I dove deeper, glancing back to see the dragon keeping pace despite how much slower it was.

Guess that size is pretty good for something.

However, I was not going to make this a repeat of what happened, turning around before I grinned and shouted.

"WULD NAH KEST! MID VUR SHAAN!",The first Shout shot me forward with a pop, the second making me grin as I felt the pressure of the water around me growing heavier and my body becoming lighter.

Sailing past the dragon, I swung a clawed foot and cut deep into his back, continuing on past it and up through the surface. Soaring up into the air, I heard a pained roar echoing from under the water.

Moments later, the sea erupted upwards as the second dragon ascended, its monstrous visage a beauty to my sight as I watched it open its maw.

Reddish-gold light illuminated the inside of his mouth as I dove down, both of us taking a deep breath before I shouted as he roared.

"FEIM ZII GRON!", A spectral veil shimmered and wrapped around me as a torrent of reddish-gold flames shot from its maw, washing over my form and doing no damage as I spun through his flames.

"I do not want to fight you! Let us talk!",I shouted as I floated in front of him, not surprised when the dragon cut off his flames and begin trying to claw and bite at me.

"End me! End me!",I frowned at the response roared at me, simply shaking my head as I dove to the side whenBecome Etherealended and flew with the dragon hot on my heels.

"You are an ancient dragon, one of the four remaining. Please, let us talk this out."

"END ME!",The dragon roared and I narrowed my eyes, circling around its form as I watched his breathing grow ragged with every passing second.

'It's too old to go on,'That was the first thought that came to mind as I usedBecome Etherealagain, narrowing my eyes as I stared at it with pity.

"What was your name, old one?",I asked as I flew higher, watching as the dragon kept up before flipping to the side when it unleashed a torrent of flames while roaring out its name.

"SHEEPSTEALER!",Its bellows echoed across the ocean and the world around me, making me smile as I nodded.

"Very well, Sheepstealer of the old days. I shall give you eternal rest. JOOR ZAH FRUL!",Dragonrendrippled through the air as I saw his eyes widen, his wings locking up before I dove after him.

"GAAN LAH HAAS! KRII LUN AUS! FUS...",I paused at the last word, staring at the look of acceptance in Sheepstealer's eyes while the two of us fell towards the ruins of Valyria.

'May you rest in peace, Sheepstealer.'

"FUS RO DAH!",The world roared with me as a cone of pure concussive force slammed into Sheepstealer's chest, bursting out the other side as I watched his eyes widen before he crashed back first into the ground.

I pulled up at the last second and barrel-rolled through a gap made by the erupting molten lava shooting upwards, getting clear of the devastation before landing beside Sheepstealer's form that was embedded into the ground.

Biting down onto his tail, a grunt came through my teeth as I dragged him out of the lava slowly pooling at the bottom of the crater made by his impact, dragging him further and further until we were near the shore to the seas.

'I don't know if this will work and if it does, I will be surprised,'I thought as I bit down on Sheepstealer's neck, taking a deep breath before shouting directly into his flesh.

"FUS RO DAH!", The body bloated before exploding outwards, a grimace on my face as blood stained my form before I smiled triumphantly at the parasitic-like worms screeching as they crawled inside of his flesh.

'As I expected,'I thought before looking to the object that I was the most excited to see, grinning at the heart that was still slowly pumping even though its former owner was dead.

Grabbing onto the heart, I took off and dove into the water, spinning and tossing it around a few times before feeling satisfied when no parasites or worms came out of it.

Tossing it up into the air, I flew up and bit down onto the heart, the taste of iron and ash washing over my tongue as I tossed it around while trying to keep biting.

It was not long before I finished tearing it apart and swallowed the pieces, feeling nothing but a sense of bitter-sweet joy at the fact that I managed to release a pained soul from this world.

'Now, time to fully explore the rest of Valyria.'

'Something's not right. Where is the old Griff?',Daario thought to himself as he sat at the counter of a bar, glancing back at where a young blue-haired teenager sat while talking happily with two Golden Company sellswords beside him.

Looking past them, he looked to Grey Worm, who sat and spoke with a group of sellswords while looking back now and again at him.

"Now?"

"No, wait,"Daario signalled back, finishing his glass before putting on his best smile as he stood up and took his bottle of Myrish wine with him.

"How is your day going, friends?", Daario spoke with a happy smile as he sat down in the empty chair, watching as his blue-haired target raised an eyebrow while the two sellswords narrowed their eyes.

"I don't think we're close enough to be considered friends."

"A friend is simply someone that hasn't tried to kill you in my books," Daario spoke with a shrug as he took a deep gulp from the wine bottle before holding it out to the others.

"Sure, pour," Aegon Targaryen/ Young Griff spoke with a smile as he held out his glass, Daario pouring it in and receiving a nod as the young man drank from it.

"So, what brings the Golden Company this far from Pentos? Last I heard, your company was gathering there."

"Huh, you know a lot about our company."

"Well, I was hoping to join. Was actually heading over to Yunkai to join when I barely avoided that mad bastard and his dragon a month ago."

"You saw the dragon?", Daario heard Aegon ask with a frown, looking at the teen to see his excited look before he nodded.

"Indeed, I did. Its scales was as black as the night, its wingspan the size of a carriage. It not only spewed out red-black flames, but also tore through the entire city like a demon from the hells below."

"According to our own investigations, the dragons should be barely bigger than the average destrier so how did it destroy a city?"

"Because of its magic. I don't know how, but there are rumours that the beast can call upon the winds of the storm and let out roars that tear down towers. I did not believe it myself until I saw it in person.

It was like a tornado of flames and rain, tearing through everything in its path and not letting anyone live."

"Really? Well, I guess dragons are as powerfu...powerful...Holy shit, that shit is strong," Aegon slurred, blinking a few times as Daario grinned before unsheathing his sword in one swift motion.

The sellsword beside him didn't get a moment to blink before Daario's sword stabbed into his neck, the other one standing only for Daario to lean to the side as Grey Worm's spear pierced through the sellsword's chest.

"Go!", Daario grunted and half of the bar immediately stood up, Daario swinging a punch that connected with Aegon's jaw and made him dizzy as Grey Worm walked over.

Taking the rope from his cloak, the Unsullied Commander began to tie the Targaryen up, Daario narrowing his eyes as he heard shouts drawing closer.

"Now, what?", Grey Worm asked, feeling dread as Daario just turned to him with a grin.

"Go! Go! Go!", Daario hissed as he ran through the street, the unconscious young teenager with blue hair and amethyst-coloured eyes thrown over his shoulder while Grey Worm ran beside him with a frown.

"Find them and make sure to retrieve Young Griff! We cannot allow him to be taken under our watch or our new Commander will not let us live!", Behind them, Daario could hear the personal guards of the teenager over his shoulder shouting at them, glancing at Grey Worm who nodded.

With a grunt, the two burst through the door beside them, surprised screams and shouts coming from the people inside as they ran through the homes towards the harbour.

"Will we make it to the ship?!"

"No, it's too far," Daario grunted as they dove through a window, landing with a stumble before grimacing when he saw the army having already surrounded their position.

"Okay, you've had your fun, cutthroats. Now, hand over our lord and we'll consider making your deaths painless," The man at the front of the group spoke with a frown, Daario and Grey Worm staring at each other before the latter unsheathed the short sword at his hip as Daario put the young lord down.

"Well, my friends, it is unfortunate, but if you wish to get the young lord back, you're going to have to take him," Daario spoke with a grin, holding his sword against the Young Griff's neck and grinning as everyone tensed.

"Oh? So he is that important enough to you all? Now, everyone back up and we'll be on our way. Of course, our target is coming with us," Daario spoke as Grey Worm put the teen on one of the small boats behind them, the Unsullied climbing in and holding his sword as Daario took the oars.

"May we never meet again!", Daario shouted with a grin as he pushed off, beginning to row while not being surprised when the Golden Company rushed to get into boats and ships.

As they did, his eyes widened as a deafening roar echoed in the skies, hearing everyone's panicked shouts as a wave of reddish-black flames washed over the area in front of him.

"Well, then. I suppose our lift is here," He spoke as he looked to Grey Worm, who looked relieved as they watched Drogon soar through the air.

The dragon was much larger than he was before, now nearly the same size as a carriage as the dragon turned and dove towards them.

"Uh, hold on! Hold on!", He shouted to Grey Worm as he held onto Aegon and the boat, Grey Worm doing the same as Drogon's claws latched onto the wood and they flew into the air.

"SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG! HAD TO DEAL WITH SOMETHING!",Drogon spoke, Daario raising an eyebrow at how clear the young dragon's voice was before he nodded.

"No worries, my friend! Now, let us return to Meereen with our present!"

A/N:And we end it off here~! Yeah, there was never going to be a big battle, but I wanted to have Drogon meet an old dragon that was barely hanging on from the old House of the Dragon days.

At first, it was going to be the Cannibal, but then I remembered Sheepstealer and how younger and smaller it was compared to the other dragons as well as Nettles having fled with it. That is why I used it.

Anyway, Daario and Grey Worm return with Drogon and a false dragon to meet Daenerys who is awaiting their arrival.
