Chapter 77 - Sword Path

Without hesitation, Sasuke followed Xin's instructions and placed the jade on his forehead. As for the phrase "highly talented genius," he automatically ignored it.

Then, the white jade glowed, as if countless tiny, stream-like fine swords drilled into Uchiha Sasuke's mind.

His body trembled.

Sasuke indeed felt that realm. In that instant, he seemed to become a third party watching his own inner world. There was nothing there, no emotions, not even hatred, just a vast expanse of whiteness like snow. The only thing present— was a sword!

Nothing else.

He had become one with the sword.

Even without a sword in his hand, he knew his sword was everywhere. As long as it was his will, everything in heaven and earth was his sword!

Powerful, how incredibly powerful!

Sasuke even felt that he didn't need to move; just a glance, a thought, could cut through everything.

However...

There was no joy. He had become a sword, and a sword does not rejoice. Even when he thought of Uchiha Itachi, of the night his clan and parents were killed, of his brother from the past, there was not the slightest ripple in his heart. That hatred seemed as insignificant as dust before this realm.

He could still kill people.

But not for hatred, and certainly not for emotion, merely for the sake of practicing the sword.

This was the extreme of heartlessness.

The light in Sasuke's eyes seemed to have vanished, leaving only the lifelessness of an object.

"Wake up—!"

Suddenly, a furious roar exploded in his mind.

Like thunder.

Completely shattering the sword in his heart.

"Haa, haa!"

Sasuke collapsed to the ground, clutching his heart, gasping for air, his eyes filled with indescribable fear.

What was that?

That feeling!

It was as if he had died and been made into a sword, everything human stripped away mercilessly, leaving only the sword!

"That's... the Heartless Sword?"

He looked up at Xin, his voice hoarse. If it hadn't been for that man's furious roar, he felt he wouldn't have come back.

How was that possible?

Someone could train the sword to such a degree!

"The Heartless Sword is a path like that. Those who walk this path of swordsmanship only need to be true to the sword, not true to people," Xin said, looking at Sasuke and shaking his head. "But you are not suited for this swordsmanship. Generally, even if a talented person can't comprehend anything, they wouldn't be enslaved by the sword intent. If I hadn't been here, you would probably have taken a long time to recover from the sword slave state."
