The next morning, Sara woke up at her usual time, but Luca was still in a deep slumber beside her. She recalled how wistfully he had spoken of his grandfather last night, but had ultimately refused to share any details about the bittersweet memories.
She stepped out of the bathroom, lowered the towel onto the chair, and let her gaze linger affectionately on Luca. Lowering herself onto the vanity chair, she quickly applied her moisturizer and then quietly slipped out of the room, deciding to let Luca sleep for a little while longer.
As she came downstairs, she saw that the servants were already busy, diligently cleaning the living room.
Stopping at the bottom of the stairs, she paused a maid and asked about her hosts, Vinni and Michael.
"Sir and Madam are in the garden, Madam," the maid replied respectfully.
"Thank you," Sara said, offering her a small smile before walking away towards the garden entrance.
