Luca and Remo had moved to the living room, settling into deep leather armchairs.
"Don't tell Sara anything more," Luca ordered.
"Marco might have already opened his mouth. That's why he went to the kitchen," Remo answered, effortlessly flicking a silver lighter open and closed between his fingers.
"I know," Luca replied, a hint of calculation in his eyes. "I let him go for a reason."
Remo stopped playing with the lighter, looking directly at his friend. "You can't control Sara, Luca. Instead, she's going to make you pull out of this business." He let out a harsh, resigned breath. "Fuck. This love thing is so damn evil. You'll do what she wants after some time, and I don't think that's wrong. Safety first."
"You think I can't keep her safe while staying in this business?" Luca retorted, his fingers rubbing agitatedly across his forehead. He leaned back, muttering to himself, "I should have controlled my tongue when I confessed my feelings."
