"Your aunt's cooking really makes us feel welcomed. As expected of a Parker."
Yuri said as he and Sekinin were washing the dishes while Yor was speaking with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. The two decided to catch up after their first meeting a month ago wasn't exactly the way they wanted to catch up.
"That's Aunt May for you, always making the best meals. I think she improved the curry recipe."
"That I can agree with, the flavor is tastier, the spice is more delicious too."
Sekinin nodded in agreement as he put away another clean plate, and Yuri put away a cup. The two were silent for a moment before Yuri spoke up.
"Are you getting better after…?"
"Yeah, I'm getting better. Just a hole that remains inside of me. But I'll manage. They are also getting better if you want to know. But they are still hurt by Arawareru's death."
Yuri nodded as he stopped midway, cleaning another cup. He sighs as if he has something to say.
"I have information regarding Hikaru Kamiki, and… I don't think you're going to like it. But… Lass Sakura was found dead in her home earlier today."
Sekinin immediately froze, almost dropping the plate to the ground. He turned to Yuri with a face full of shock and anger.
"How? How did he manage to kill her?"
He whispered angrily, as he didn't want his aunt or uncle to know what he was being told. He also noticed that Yuri looked angry as well, not to him but to himself, as if he had failed.
"It turns out Kamiki has a hidden influence, even if he is a wanted criminal. He reached out to a fan and spoke of the lies of Miss Sakura, telling him that she was pregnant with someone's child. That fan of hers was actually one of our own police officers who was one of the people who were acting as a citizen to witness anything suspicious."
"So that officer simply believed that she was pregnant. Was he shown any proof?"
"None, and it turns out he was a die-hard fan of hers. The fact that he is such a fan that he simply believed it and assumed that she was sleeping with someone else, lied to her fans, and killed her because he felt it was justified."
Justified. JUSTIFIED!? How would killing an idol because of believing something that had no proof at all be justified!? And…
"Who sent him the message? Or how did he manage to get that false information?"
"That's the thing, we're not exactly sure. We interviewed him a few hours after we found Sakura dead, and he was the only suspect who wasn't there when we called all the witnesses. We found out he was messaged by an unknown number. We tried to trace it back to the source, but it led us to a dead end. A phone booth."
"And you think Kamiki is behind this?"
"I believe—no, it's definitely him. After all the evidence we found at his home, he is the primary suspect. The fact that he managed to kill another idol, a murder under my watch, is unacceptable, especially since I'm the captain of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, who suggested that officer to her."
Tokyo Metropolitan? Guess Yuri was somewhere close to Shimokitazawa before getting that promotion to be at Chiyoda City.
"Did you get in trouble because of that?"
"No, all the blame was toward the officer who killed Lass Sakura. Even my boss was very angry when he heard what happened."
"So no other leads?"
"Unfortunately, not at the moment. It was hard for me to explain to her family what happened. And honestly, perhaps the next day, we are expecting the family to sue us for not being able to protect her. Which is understandable as a police officer did, in fact, kill her."
"But that doesn't mean you have to handle it because another officer did it."
"I appreciate your concern, Sekinin. But this is going to be taken to court, because that officer is still alive, and he is going to be charged with first-degree murder. And sooner or later, this information will be out by the family or by any other means. Any leaks will be talked about, no matter how long it will take to be released."
"But I absolutely hate the fact that Kamiki was still able to get away with this. He can't keep getting away, he can't remain free on the streets even if he's hiding."
Sekinin was doing his best not to raise his voice, but his anger towards Arawareru's murderer would never die down until he got his hands on his face and unleashed all of his anger. It's there, alright, and it was something that was beginning to build up after that day, slower but surely still building up.
Yuri obviously can see the anger in his eyes and face, as if he had seen it many times before, as he put Sekinin close to him for a warming embrace.
"Sekinin, I promise I'll find him and make sure his sentence will be for life. I'll make sure of it. Let the police—let me handle this. You're still a kid, Sekinin. Let this be handled by the adults. At least don't try to focus too much on him or anything like that. Justice will be served, justice will catch up to him. Just please don't drag yourself through this."
Sekinin didn't say anything, no promises, or anything; he just simply let fate, karma, or anything be for justice to come. But he knew better; he could simply make everything better if he, as Spider-Man, could find him.
Still, he just nodded as Sekinin felt his head being rubbed. He didn't even need to guess or ask why.
"Your mother does this for me whenever I'm stressed. And to you, too. I think it's good for you that…"
Yuri didn't speak or finish his sentence; he just let Sekinin feel the comfort and hope that it eases his anger and rage.
—
"Thanks, Yuri."
Spider-Man said as he watched the sunset on top of Tokyo Tower. The view from that high can truly be beautiful.
Still, he did feel comfort from that head pat, but that didn't mean the fire within him could easily be extinguished. He then turned from the amazing view to his phone.
And on the screen was Twitter, a social media app he uses. Though not as often as anyone who spends their time just finding anything interesting.
He was on the official B-Komachi profile as he checked for anything that could get him to meet Ai Hoshino.
Sure, what it said does sound like a stalker or something similar trying to get close to an idol. But Spider-Man is on a mission. Hikaru Kamiki must be found and stopped, no matter how much it takes.
And his first clue, or at least his lead so far, is Ai Hoshino. He searched through the comments about the group of idols, and it is obvious to see how much of a fanbase they have here.
Comments of praise, comments of perverts exposing their creepy fetish, and negative comments that came from people who just want to be haters or idiots.
One negative comment spoke about how Ai Hoshino's smile was fake and lacked anything positive, and they just thought she was someone just acting on the stage.
Spider-Man had nearly replied to a comment of his own about how that person obviously doesn't understand the work that idols have to do in order to be the idols for all their fans. That they're just biased, that they're just an ordinary person with nothing special but a name and an average life.
But he stopped as he realized what he was just thinking about, wondering how that comment easily made him want to reply in retaliation.
Perhaps what he just learned from Yuri got his emotions to get the better of him. Speaking of which…
Spider-Man suddenly got new memories of new information about the recent murder. He now has a location he can go to!
He quickly put away his phone, jumped off the tower, and made a dive to get an extra speed in swinging. And the breeze never felt better.
From what he just learned from the other him back at home. Seems like everyone began watching a movie of the new romance anime. Still, he got work to do.
Spider-Man swings all the way from Shimokitazawa to the Minato ward. Surprisingly, he was just here like an hour ago. Anyway, he looked for the location of the home of Lass Sakura on his phone, and a minute later, he was able to find her home.
It was an apartment, and it seemed like everything was normal, at least on the outside. Perhaps the inside has an officer or someone overseeing the deceased idol apartment.
Spider-Man waited for a moment until he saw a police officer, a woman, just exit the apartment building, as it seemed she was on patrol. Perhaps to see if any lurkers or anyone are trying to get in close to the place of the crime.
Perhaps… he can open a window from nearby and could lead him inside. After checking for anyone who could be watching the building, Spider-Man swung to a window. Open it and silently enter inside, as he knew he was on the third floor.
The room where the crime scene took place was just ahead. And that there are police tapes at the door he is walking to. He noticed the door looked like it was open or had been crashed through by brute force.
But the door looked like it was open, trying to get inside, and there were bullet holes. Spider-Man can easily imagine what happened here and is disgusted by the thought of it.
With no hesitation, he jumped onto the ceiling and went inside the apartment while sticking. What he saw was… It was unimaginable. There were bullet holes everywhere. This shows how crazy that crazy cop was; pictures now have glass everywhere, and anything belonging in the apartment was all shot at.
The crazy cop didn't leave anything undamaged. Spider-Man looks around, his eyes locked on what appears to be the tapes of where the body was found. It was hard to even look at it.
He turned around to the door, listening to see if he could hear anything. So far nothing, as if the building was evacuated and remained empty for the whole day. No one here except for him and the officer outside, who would come back sooner or later.
He searched around a bit more, eyes searching through. Until his eyes landed on a faint, yet small spot on the wall that looked very well hidden. He landed from the ceiling as he looked at the spot. It seems like a secret spot to hide something.
Spider-Man carefully tore through the spot as he found a set of audio recordings. All in perfect conditions, all untouched, with one that looks like it was still recording! The red dot, blinking and visible.
Spider-Man felt his lungs were covered by the sight of the recordings, but recovered quickly as he grabbed the blinking one and turned it off. To think that one recording was still recording after all of this.
He wonders if he should listen to the recordings, somewhere safe and private. Perhaps some of the recordings could be used as evidence against the crazy cop. Still, he couldn't listen to them here, not until he was sure he was alone.
With no hesitation, he grabbed all the recordings, wrapped them all up in one web bag, concealed the spot to ensure it didn't look like it was tough in any way, then quickly exited the apartment and the building entirely.
He again made sure no one saw him leaving the window as he swung away from the building to somewhere quieter and secure.
He eventually found himself on one of the tallest rooftops, as the building he was on looked empty and didn't look like anyone could listen in, as it didn't have a way in or out.
Spider-Man then grabbed one of the recordings and began to listen.
[Please tell me it's recording…? The red is blinking, so it must be right? Okay, listen, if anyone finds these recordings, please, please give them to Sekinin Parker. I believe that what happened that day was my fault, for being with that monster, the man who tried to kill me, Hikaru Kamiki. I wish to help him bring that man to the hands of the law, to avenge the man who took that bullet for me, Arawareru, if his name was his surname or his first name. I owe both of them for helping me.]
The idol's voice was exactly like how he heard it, although the last time he heard the voice in distress and fear, the voice he heard sounded serious and determined. Perhaps after what happened, she managed to be more composed and decided to use the recordings as evidence. Maybe to help in case something were to happen to her if the scum truly did decide to kill her within that month.
She is willing to help Sekinin bring the monster to justice. Spider-Man listened to the recording as he heard some crucial information. Anything that would help him.
So far, the first recording just speculated about how she met Hikaru Kamiki, just a relaxing day after performing a concert, the two of them met, and for some reason, she felt like he was nice to talk to. That was, of course, what she felt before she looked back and realized that he met her in a cafe that she didn't tell anyone about and secretly went to whenever she could.
She realized that she must have been stalked or at least been followed before even meeting the scum, and it seems she fell for his acting, acting like he is nice, caring, disgusting, of how someone in a human body can exist like that bastard. The whole recording was how they met and how he had her in the wrap of his hand. A reserved way of controlling someone, but it happens to her.
The second recording was first explained, how, after Sekinin finishes listening to the recordings, it is his choice to send them to the police for the possible extra statements to aid in their search for him. But the second part mentions how he was pretty secretive about himself, only allowing bits of information regarding his own life, but rather his involvement in the acting company.
The third recording mentioned how she realized that Kamiki has been trying to go forward in their relationship, more than just being an ordinary couple, something that truly disgusted her now that she looks back at it. It made Spider-Man realize that what Yuri had told Sekinin about her death was truly false, not that he had any doubt about it. But the crazy officer truly believed it.
The fourth recording spoke about how she's been secretly trying to look back on some of the places where they went on dates, hung out, or anywhere that could have led to clues. She even marks them down on paper that is hidden in the apartment, places that she believes hold clues of some sort. Perhaps clues of his previous victims, she felt the places she had been were more romantic, and how well the atmosphere was.
Now that Spider-Man thinks about it, the Azabu-Juban Park, one of the mentioned places, was actually very concerning, especially since Usagi lives in Azabu-Juban in the Minato region. He should check there first in case the bastard decides to come there or any of the other places, just in case.
She even said that she brought two tickets to see the upcoming concert of Ai Hoshino, one for Sekinin in hopes of seeing the idol, which she hoped would help in his grief, while the other was for the man who saved her life, had any children, and accompany him to the concert. And after a brief moment of thinking about it, Nijika seems the obvious person that he can invite to an idol concert.
Then again, perhaps… Unless Sarina's illness truly doesn't allow her to go anywhere other than the places in the hospital, then… Maybe he could do something to help counter that, but if not….Damn, Spider-Man has to think clearly about who to bring to the concert. Well, there was a third option for someone to go with, Usagi.
Though he could just bring Nijika and end it like that.
Still, getting them two tickets to see an idol that many would kill to see was something more valued than your own dignity. At least that was what he heard from the otakus. Anyway, he listened in more until the last recording, the one that was still going until he found it.
[I… I think I'm being followed. And I know it is not… Him, it's someone else. I… I don't even know who. But… It was like that yesterday, and possibly this afternoon too. I'm planning on escaping through my window, thankfully, there's a fire escape ladder to it, so I can get away easily and… Oh no! I need to hide this!]
The sound of running and putting the recording away, but before she could even do what she planned. The sound of gunshots was heard… Spider-Man's eyes felt his blood cold as he was now hearing the last moment she was alive.
[… … … You're You're that officer—! DIE YOU WH—! *BANG* … … … Liar! YOU ATTENTION-SEEKING LIAR! HOW DARE YOU LIE TO US! TO ME! CARRYING A CHILD OF A BASTARD AND DATING A NOBODY! You deserve this! For lying to me!]
The sounds of footsteps leaving the apartment, then the noise of the idol dying. Her last word… "Hikaru."
If Spider-Man was not angry enough, then this did it. He wanted nothing more than to storm into whatever police department he is in, and break his whole head, body, everything just to make that pathetic excuse of a human being regret ever being born! He didn't give her a chance to explain herself, just killed her the moment he saw her.
He decided to bring that recording to the moment he charges in whatever department the scum is in and do what he wishes. But before he could, he could even swing away…
"All units be advised…"
Spider-Man didn't need to hear who the person was; he knew it was that bastard. The moment he got the last known location, he did not hesitate as he made a dive and then swung. Unlike the crooks he webbed up, he was going to make sure this scum pays!
—
An officer who looked like he had been beaten up badly ran as fast as he could. He grits his teeth in anger at the injustice he endured. That he, in his idiotic mind, believed was right to himself and those the attention-seeking idol lied to. The officer truly felt that what he did was justified.
He hid in a nearby alleyway, as it is known to be a maze, depending on which alleyway he ran into. He was breathing heavily, trying to catch his breath as he heard car sirens passing by. He relaxed a little before going further in the alleyway.
"They'll never understand. None of them! But my fellow brothers and sisters will understand. I need to get to my computer to rally everyone up. If only they didn't take away my phone, damn traitors!"
He went further in as he made the next turn, but the moment he did, a figure was standing a few feet away from him. A boy. The officer just sneered as he made an attempt to shove past the boy and just be on his way. But the moment he was about to shove him aside, he was immediately grabbed and launched into the brick wall.
The impact he felt was like how he would sometimes have to slam the brakes to quickly stop a car. But before he could even say anything. His entire world went black.
By the time the police found the officer who killed the idol, all they found was a bleeding man who was in critical condition. Even when they brought him to the hospital, the officer managed to recover. He was still brought into court and was sentenced to life in prison, with the evidence recording his crime. Apparently, the recording was found near the beaten officer.
Though one mystery remains. Who was the one who found him, and who did he pissed off to put himself in that kind of condition?
