Chapter 5 - Chapter Five – Blood and Desire

SCARLETT

The howl still lingered in the air, low and guttural, as if the night itself had split open.

Kael's claws slid free, his golden eyes blazing. Darius bristled beside him, the veins in his neck bulging as his wolf strained for release. Lucien remained still, his silence more dangerous than both.

I leaned against the wall, smoothing the torn fabric over my breasts with trembling fingers. My lips curved into a slow, dangerous smile.

"Well, isn't this interesting," I purred, my voice slicing through the tension like silk. "Seems someone else wants to play."

Kael spun on me, fury and lust still burning in his gaze. "This isn't a game, Scarlett. Stay here."

I laughed, the sound sharp and sultry. "You think I'll just sit quietly while wolves tear each other apart?" I pushed off the wall, my hips swaying deliberately. "Oh, no, Alpha. I intend to watch."

Darius growled low in his chest. "You'll obey me. I marked you. You belong to me."

I sauntered closer, my fingers trailing down his chest before I leaned up, my lips grazing his ear. "If I belong to you, Darius…" I whispered, my voice dripping with honey. "…why do I crave them just as much?"

His body shuddered, his wolf snarling inside him, but before he could respond the howl came again—closer this time. Then another. And another.

The stronghold shook as the enemy pack arrived.

Kael bared his teeth. "They've crossed into our territory."

Lucien finally moved, his black eyes narrowing. "Not just crossed." He turned, listening, his wolf senses sharp. "They're here for her."

I froze.

All three Alphas turned to me.

My pulse quickened, but I didn't let my mask slip. Instead, I smiled, tilting my head like a wicked queen being offered a crown. "Well," I drawled, "I do have that effect on wolves."

Kael snarled. Darius cursed. Lucien simply studied me, as if my words only confirmed what he already knew.

The heavy doors at the end of the corridor shuddered violently as something slammed against them. Wolves howled outside, the sound a frenzy of hunger and rage.

My heart raced, my body still humming from Lucien's touch, my lips still bruised from Kael and Darius. And now another pack was here—another opportunity, another game to play.

The doors cracked. Splinters rained to the floor.

Kael shifted in an instant, his massive golden wolf bursting forth, fur bristling, fangs gleaming. Darius followed, his storm-gray wolf snarling with barely controlled fury.

Lucien didn't shift yet. He stood tall, his hands clenched, his eyes burning black as his wolf prowled just beneath the surface.

I licked my lips, my breath catching as I watched the three of them prepare for battle—my three Alphas, powerful, savage, deadly. And mine. Always mine.

The doors burst open.

The enemy wolves flooded in, black-furred and red-eyed, their growls shaking the stone walls. They came like a storm, teeth flashing, claws tearing.

My body vibrated with a rush of fear and arousal, my wolf inside me howling with excitement. I stepped back against the wall, my hands trembling—not from fear, but from the intoxicating thrill of watching the Alphas fight for me.

Kael lunged first, his golden wolf a blur of muscle and fury as he tore into the intruders, his fangs ripping through flesh, blood spraying the walls.

Darius followed, his storm-gray wolf brutal and unrelenting, snapping necks, his howl shaking the stone.

Lucien finally shifted, and gods help me, my knees went weak. His wolf was massive, black as night, his eyes glowing like obsidian fire. He moved with lethal precision, every bite and slash deliberate, controlled, efficient.

My breath came in ragged gasps as the battle unfolded before me, the scent of blood and sweat and wolf musk filling the air, intoxicating.

And yet—even in the chaos, I saw it.

All three of them fought like monsters, but their eyes—every one of them—kept flicking back to me.

They were fighting for me.

My lips parted, heat flooding my core, my body trembling with hunger. I leaned back against the wall, my fingers sliding down my stomach, pressing against the damp heat between my thighs as I watched them slaughter for me.

My moan was soft, lost beneath the clash of fangs and claws, but Kael's golden eyes snapped to me in the middle of tearing out a wolf's throat. His growl deepened, primal and possessive.

Darius howled as he ripped another intruder apart, his gaze catching my hand between my legs, his fury twisting into something darker.

Lucien's black wolf paused only a second, his eyes burning into mine with cold calculation, as if memorizing the image of me undone while they bathed the floor in blood.

I gasped, my body trembling, my moans spilling faster now. "Yes…" I whispered, biting my lip. "Fight for me. Bleed for me."

And gods help me, they did.

The enemy wolves fell one by one, their bodies torn and broken, the stone floors slick with blood. The last one howled before Kael ripped his throat clean, spraying crimson across the wall.

The chamber fell silent except for the heavy panting of the three Alphas, their wolves bristling, blood dripping from their fangs.

My hand stilled between my thighs, my breath ragged, my body trembling with the force of my own forbidden release. I leaned against the wall, my smile wicked and exhausted.

"Well," I purred, my voice hoarse. "That was… delicious."

Kael shifted back first, his naked body bloodstained and glorious, his golden eyes locked on me. "You're playing with fire, Scarlett."

Darius shifted next, his chest heaving, fury and lust burning in his storm-gray eyes. "I'll kill you before I let you destroy me."

Lucien remained in his wolf form, his black eyes glowing, unreadable, unblinking, his gaze burning into me like ice.

I licked my lips, my smile sharp. "Then burn. Then bleed. Either way…" I spread my arms wide, laughing softly. "…I win."

The laugh died on my lips as the sound of another howl shattered the silence.

Not from outside.

From inside.

My blood ran cold.

The battle wasn't over.
