now that Cain knows he can make gifts his "own", he began to wonder what can he do to make the other gifts his own aswell?
each seems to be different, for example: undying was an artifact, an item he used, not truly his but by assimilating it with himself he had made it "his"
but this only applies to undying, say something like the craftsmen's gift. in its description it stated the old him had never made anything truly original.
thus meaning if he were to invent something new, different from anything invented in the past this gift would be used in a way unrelated to the original owner. thus his.
but such a thing could only be called a hypothesis at this point in time, for example how could he make something like the playboys gift his?
some of these things will need experimenting, point is that for now.. the best thing he can do is simply train his gifts and worry about it later.
but at this point in time he has a different concern..
he recently came to find that he may or may not be living in a story, but that isnt something that bothers him to much since there was never much of a point indwelling on it anyways, what good would it do to have an existential crisis anyways?
the main issue is that he knows nothing of the story, nothing of the hidden items or who the villains are.. secret organizations or who the original mc is.
this would usually not be a problem if no one knew of these things since they would have an even playing field but Sophia does. she knows what is going to be in every test, who to be careful of hidden items and most importantly the future.
this leaves him especially venerable since he made it clear that he has no intention of cooperating thus they have no reason to tell him anything.
infact they may even feed him false information.
as someone who relies on information and manipulations to even the playing field with them this is a deadly concern and there really isn't much he is even able to do to stop them either.
the one thing he can do however is gather as much information they cant. unlike them he now has established himself in the underworld something he doubts "hero's" like them would be involved with.
through this he can gain artifacts, money and allies in a way non of them could intervene.
and he had already gathered some information from his initial conversation with Sophia aswell, she had clearly stated he had unified those "villains" making them harder to deal with, through this he can already deduce that at least a few of his classmates are untrustworthy, although some of them may be made enemies throughout the storyline there could be a few students who had been evil from the starts, like the common trope of a demon contractor or something of the sort.
another clue is that the mc is 100% from the elite class, as per the fact he was supposed to help them win by awakening, so he can manage to maybe use his "plot armor" or something to leech off of, for example he's probably going to be visiting various places during tests as per the storyline encountering "lucky accidents" throughout.
sadly however this was the most of what he had gotten, and there wasn't much time to dwell on it since he needs to make his way to class since the teacher is Sephira today at magic class, known for her strictness in lateness.
by the time he had gotten there however while on time, he felt a piercing glare from a direction he couldn't really notice, which made the back of his hair stand up since this could potentially mean an enemy he cannot deal with..
sadly however he needs to pay attention to Camelia who seems to be speaking about something
"-so when their focus was disrupted i sent blackie in through their stomach to eat them inside out! their guts were spilling out with guttural screamed like a sonata of of passion~ oh how exciting it was!"
obviously she was referring to the field exam for the hundredth time this month alone, blackie being abyssal tentacles conjured by her blessing.
while her family usually focuses on poisons and illusions Camelia has a blessing which allows her to summon beings- or atleast parts of beings that seem like abyssal horrors.
blackie for example is a Lovecraftian horror of the deep sea, akin to an amalgamation of millions of tentacles huge and small that secrete a slimy substance that slowly paralyze enemies afterwhich is drags them to the depths to slowly feast upon.
atleast its his guess at what it is, so far he had learned of two creatures she is capable of manifesting being blackie and Lezy, however unlike blackie, lezy forms as something similar to huge bat wings on Camelia's back, along with augmenting her charm magic a ton.
"sounds like a fun time.."
expectantly her eyes sparkle like a child in a candy store.
for some reason she really likes it when he compliments her, almost like a puppy being called a good boy.
to which he proceeds to feed her praise after praise eventually forced to come up with bullshit things to continue, since every time he stops her head droops down sadly.
soon enough however Sephira arrives, perfectly as he was about to run out of compliments.
"hello everyone, i know you may all be preparing for your test tomorrow however i request you put that aside for the rest of the lecture. since we will be learning a spell every mage should know and be capable of using to atleast some degree."
due to how important sephira seems to be making this spell out to be, its clear its an important part they should know thus they all straighten up, ready to take notes
"as you all know there are many affinities, each is something your body leans towards a bit more than the other. however you all should also know there are magics that don't fit into any one affinity, which means that their mastery is solely dependent on how easily you yourself grasp them, and how much you practice them"
"today we will be learning the most important and well known of these spells which is telekinesis."
showing three separate yet similar magic circles, each ascending in complexity she quickly explains what they are
"telekinesis is a spell that unlike many other spells can change in its structure alot without losing its core values, which is why mages throughout the years have devised multiple iterations of this spells, some focusing on range, speed power or the ability to move humans, it can truly be called the most versatile spell to a degree."
"among them there is the base versions of telekinesis which will be what we will be focusing on, while each function the same their complexity's differ but so do their power, we refer to each of them as a mastery, like beginner mastery over telekinesis to advanced and mastered, each has greater effects yet consumes more mana."
"i expect each of you to begin learning the beginner version and once you reach an acceptable control over it move on to the next mastery, your next test grades will depend on the mastery you reach."
now obviously she will be teaching us how to make the most use of it, how to apply it in battle and how to conserve your mana while using it. for the first class however they were left to their own devices.
by the time the class was done almost everyone had learned the beginner level of telekinesis, albeit to varying degrees.
luckily however this was their last class of the day, so they finally made their way to the dorms or cafeteria or simply to hang around with your friends.
which was why it came as a surprise to him that he was being pinned to a wall with a familiar sense of Deja vu.. by Ambrosia, the ice cold vampire princess of all people..
what surprised him the most however was how distressed.. yet filled with hope she was.
"b..brother..?"
