——

As Zeus observed the battlefield before them—The Ashen Bastion they were about to attack—he turned his gaze toward his brother.

"Are you ready, Poseidon?"

Zeus asked.

Poseidon answered with a boisterous laugh.

"Of course! Let us destroy this place."

His voice was arrogant, yet overflowing with confidence.

Zeus merely looked at him and said nothing more, waiting.

Then Zeus stepped forward, with Poseidon beside him.

The small army watched their backs as the two gods ascended into the sky.

As the god of the sky and lightning, and the god of storms , they would lead the opening assault—announcing to the world that they were unafraid, that they were powerful, and that they had come to fight.

The two brothers glanced at each other, crooked smiles forming on their lips.

"Let's do it, Poseidon,"

Zeus said.

"You don't have to say it twice,"

Poseidon replied.

In an instant, a colossal storm formed overhead—stretching for kilometers across the sky.

Lightning crackled within its depths, while massive tornadoes churned violently, as though a calamity itself had descended upon the world.

Then it grew worse.

Zeus added his own power to Poseidon's storm.

Lightning intensified, winds howled louder, and divine pressure flooded the heavens.

A terrifying tempest took shape—roaring thunder, cascading lightning, and razor-sharp winds capable of slicing even deities apart.

From within the Ashen Bastion, minor gods surged into the sky, followed by hundreds of lesser gods, finally noticing the two figures above—Zeus and Poseidon.

The brothers looked down at them with smug smiles.

"What are you two doi—"

Before the minor god at the forefront could even speak or react, the storm descended.

It twisted and reshaped itself into a colossal dragon of clouds, wind and lightning, plunging downward to devour its prey.

The minor god screamed in horror—but before he could even comprehend what was happening, he was swallowed whole by the storm-dragon, erased from existence.

They will be resurrected, but he might wait too return in a hundred years… or more.

Lesser gods followed soon after, consumed just as swiftly.

The Ashen Bastion trembled on the verge of destruction—until several minor gods who had remained on the ground raised a massive barrier, woven from countless domains and elements.

The barrier held, barely stopping the storm's advance.

Even so, the casualties were immense.

Countless lesser gods and several minor gods lay destroyed.

Those who survived stared upward in fear and rage at the two gods above.

"You bastards!"

someone shouted.

"Come down here!"

"Who do you think you are?!"

"Do you think you can just do this and escape?!"

Voices screamed up at them, filled with anger and vengeance.

Zeus looked down at them calmly, utterly uninterested in their words.

"Brother," he said casually, "that was quite the amusing experience."

Poseidon laughed loudly.

"You don't have to tell me twice! We should do it again!"

They ignored the enraged cries below—and that only fueled the fury of the Deity's beneath them, who began to rise into the sky in retaliation.

Then something changed.

A suffocating fear seeped into the battlefield, gripping hearts without warning.

Some of the stronger ones resisted it—but none could deny it.

Footsteps echoed faintly, and dread crept deeper into their minds.

A presence approached.

Darkness and fear itself seemed to advance toward them.

They turned—and saw a man with soulless green eyes and jet-black hair, as though the darkness had taken human form.

His face was emotionless, his gaze cold, as if he were already counting the dead who would soon follow him.

Already terrified, the enemy froze.

"Hades,"

Zeus muttered.

Hades stepped forward calmly.

"What are you two doing up there?" he asked flatly. "Come down. We'll take care of them together."

Before any of the minor gods could protest, Hades raised his spear.

Darkness coiled around it as he hurled it forward at extraordinary speed—death itself racing toward the enemy.

But before the spear could strike anyone, a minor god—one of the stronger and brave than the rest—stepped forward and raised his hand.

At his command, the earth responded, forming a massive wall of stone and divine earth, powerful enough to halt the attack.

Still, the spear refused to stop.

One more minor god moved in, one commanding the wind.

A violent wall of air formed, finally stopping the spear completely—ending in a deafening explosion.

Before they could even process what had happened, Zeus voice roared across the battlefield.

"What are you all doing standing back?! Step forward and attack!"

At once, they felt it—multiple presences erupting behind the three attackers.

Hundred of minor gods suddenly appeared across the battlefield, launching a surprise assault.

Chaos erupted instantly.

The lesser gods were slaughtered almost immediately, unable to resist.

The minor gods fought back desperately from surprise attack, but as the battle continued, the three brothers noticed more and more enemies emerged from deeper within the Ashen Bastion.

Each wave was stronger than the last.

Some wielded the domain of water, even managing to contest Poseidon for brief moments.

Poseidon answered them ruthlessly.

With his spear, he pierced through enemies while invoking the sea itself—summoning crushing pressure, forming ice spears and water lances infused with oceanic force.

Zeus, meanwhile, surged with lightning.

Electricity coursed through his body as he transformed into living lightning itself, striking with his bare fists.

Each blow carried divine punishment, obliterating enemies, crushing skulls, and tearing through many minor gods with terrifying ease.

Hades spread fear simply by advancing.

He unleashed his fear and darkness domains, cutting down enemies methodically.

He did not call upon the death nor use the underworld domain—yet still, he was devastating.

Using riches and darkness, he forged weapons mid-battle—spears and swords of blackened metal and gold raining down upon the enemy forces.

The battlefield descended into complete chaos.

Deities clashed against deities in a storm of power.

No one—especially no mortal—could have understood what was happening.

Even the enemy forces were overwhelmed and surprised, unable to comprehend the sudden assault.

They had been attacked without warning, fighting desperately for their lives.

Thousands fell.

And yet, a small force—barely a hundred—was tearing through them and only lost a few.

…Especially those three.
