Chapter 158 - Chapter 158 Trial

Wizengamot...

"Are you nervous?" Dumbledore asked, sitting with Kayson in a separate room.

"Not nervous... You don't lack confidence in your connections, do you?" Kayson countered.

"Of course not. I just thought that normally, even if one knows it's a winning situation, they'd still be a little nervous," Dumbledore explained.

"Facts show I'm not a normal person."

Soon, a Ministry of Magic employee knocked on the door. The two followed him out and arrived at the center of the Wizengamot.

As he left, he subtly gave Kayson a thumbs-up.

Soon, the members of the Wizengamot also entered. A small portion of the people inside were Kayson's acquaintances, while most were Dumbledore's.

He truly was the King of Connections at Hogwarts.

"Are you sure everything's taken care of? Who did you find?" At this point, Kayson didn't forget to ask Dumbledore, though not being nervous was one thing, but if Dumbledore was unreliable or the Wizengamot jury played tricks and made him lose, would he have to just run away?

Although such a thing was impossible.

However, he soon saw a figure on the Wizengamot seats that he was all too familiar with.

Kayson only knew him as Lester, the one who first introduced him to the magic world by demonstrating a physical Obliviate with an anvil.

Kayson's mood instantly felt as awful as if he had swallowed a fly. What was the most unlucky thing in life?

This situation was one of them: having one of the jurors be an enemy of the one being treated during a trial.

Although one person wouldn't cause the Wizengamot to decide to eliminate him...

"Ah, this terrible idea!" Kayson sighed helplessly.

Soon, all the members of the Wizengamot and the plaintiff, Fudge, were in place. An elegant Witch on a separate high platform softly cleared her throat.

It's worth noting that at first glance, Fudge appeared to have both his arms, though upon closer inspection, it was clear that one was a prosthetic made through Alchemy.

It was then that Kayson noticed that the Witch also wore a monocle... tasteful. He also saw a silver nameplate in the center of the high platform.

[Amelia Bones, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement]

"Kaisen Heath... please be seated," Bones said in a deep voice.

Kayson looked behind him at a square chair with chains wrapped around it.

"Uh..."

He kicked the chair disdainfully, and it instantly shattered into small cubes and disappeared. Instead, he casually conjured a pure black wool sofa in its place, which was, of course, to match the decor and accessories of the room.

"Aren't you going to conjure one for me too?" Dumbledore asked.

Kayson remained silent for a moment before conjuring two more sofas on either side of his current one, for symmetry.

"Thank you."

Bones ignored Kayson and Dumbledore's little antics, instead pulling out a piece of parchment and calmly stating,

"Defendant, Kaisen Heath, you are accused of... spatially displacing into the Ministry of Magic's Minister's office without Ministry of Magic permission, and magically assaulting the former Undersecretary, now a grassroots diplomatic employee in South America and Africa, Dolores Umbridge... and using a longsword to injure Cornelius Fudge's arm."

"That is correct."

Bones nodded: "Now you have five minutes to explain the rationality of your actions."

Kayson rolled his eyes: "I still need to prove the rationality of my actions? What do those present here consider rational?"

"Is there rationality in Fudge's actions of stuffing Dementors, who have no reason and only suck human souls, into a Little Wizards' den? Or is there rationality in my actions, where I, enraged by the Ministry of Magic's idiotic operations, re-entered the office and disarmed Fudge of an arm?"

"Kaisen Heath! We are talking about your actions now, not irrelevant things!" Fudge suddenly interjected.

"Why can't I talk about it?" Kayson burrowed deeper into the sofa: "You can do something as idiotic as that, yet you're afraid of others talking about it! Honestly, I regret it now... I regret why I cut off your arm back then and not your head!" Kayson retorted without yielding.

"Mr. Kaisen Heath, please let us end this topic. You claim your actions were to protect the Little Wizards, but the Dementors did not leave Hogwarts. So, please tell me, was this act an act of venting, protection, or protection?" Bones asked calmly.

"You should ask our wise and mighty Mr. Fudge about that. According to him, the magical item that controls the Dementors was destroyed and is currently being repaired in the Department of Mysteries... How can such an important item break? Is Fudge so bored that he uses that thing as an ashtray?" Kayson said with a sneer.

Fudge, meanwhile, awkwardly shrank his head, because the magical item that controlled the Dementors was an Alchemy skull... In a sense, if you just put that thing upside down... it really could be used as an ashtray, and even the missing teeth of the skull could hold cigars, making it truly convenient to use.

"Final question, were your actions extreme?"

"In fact, my actions were not extreme. Before that, I had written to Fudge. I warned him to keep the Dementors under strict control, and if they harmed any Little Wizards, I would twist his head off and plant it in a flowerpot."

"Therefore, in fact, I sent a warning letter in advance, and I only cut off his arm, not his head."

"You mean your actions were premeditated, not impulsive?"

"It's fine if you think so," Kayson said casually, rolling his eyes.

"Now, members of the Wizengamot will vote. Those who believe Kaisen Heath is guilty, raise your hand," Bones said, nodding.

A few scattered hands were raised in the Wizengamot seats. Kayson glanced around; most were Ministry of Magic employees, meaning they were under Fudge's control.

"Kaisen Heath is guilty, six votes. Next, those who believe Kaisen Heath is innocent, raise your hand."

The entire hall seemed to darken instantly. Kayson casually looked around, and countless arms stretched out across the hall; even Bones on the separate judgment platform raised her hand.

It seemed this Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, who belonged to the Ministry of Magic, didn't care for Fudge.

Kayson and Dumbledore exchanged glances.

"Hmm."
