Chapter 144 - Bloody Rain! Shura!

"Good, you can die in peace."

Shigure instantly teleported out of the Amahara residence. Shada, having lost too much blood, was certain to die.

The Leaf ninjas in Daimyo City rushed quickly toward the Amahara residence. The aftermath was no longer Shigure's concern.

"The west side of the city?" Shigure immediately began teleporting toward the western outer city, soon sensing the Flying Thunder God technique mark left on Amahara Suisen.

"Teleport!" With a whoosh, Shigure appeared before Suisen.

"Shigure!" Suisen saw him, hope lighting her eyes. She had lost count of how many times Shigure had saved her.

"Mr. Shigure! What are you doing here? Run! You're no match for them! There are too many!" Amahara Ye warned anxiously.

"Haha! Who's this brat coming to die? Everyone, get him!" The bloated Nakajima family head barked orders. His retainers were incompetent and only grunted as they drew weapons.

"You dogs, get out of my way." Shigure's eyes turned a pale blue Mangekyō Sharingan, instantly casting a wide-range genjutsu. Anyone who met Shigure's gaze suffered mental shock and fell dazed, kneeling helplessly.

"What's wrong with you all?!" Nakajima's head was shocked.

"Mr. Nakajima, it's ninjutsu! They're trapped under a ninja's genjutsu!" one panicked retainer said.

"Where's that Shada? Where is he now, in this critical moment?!" Nakajima snapped, "Those who can stand, keep attacking! Wear him down with numbers!"

More Nakajima retainers arrived soon, numerous but weak.

"Ah!" They charged again, but a single shuriken from Shigure pierced a thug's head, terrifying the group into refusing another step forward.

Shigure quickly untied Suisen and Amahara Ye.

"This man colluded secretly with a Sand Hidden puppeteer. A disgrace to the Land of Fire! He dies today! I will wash the Nakajima family in blood!" Shigure said coldly.

"Clang!" Shigure drew his Dragon Fang Blade. The dim yellow light made the blade gleam fiercely.

"This blade kills without staining. Enemy blood will rain to the ground. Stay back," Shigure warned.

Suisen watched Shigure in this deadly mode for the first time.

For these fools, Shigure would kill quicker than ever with the fast Dragon Fang Blade.

"There's only one! No burial place for you! Kill these three! I'll pay a million ryo!" Nakajima's head raised the bounty loudly to fuel his minions' rage.

"Ah!" Driven by greed, the ruffians forgot fear.

"Blood Rain… Dance!" Shigure charged, like a wolf crashing into sheep, performing a bloody dance on bodies. He leaped over and slid through foes; the bright Dragon Fang Blade never left his hand.

Though the blade's glow lingered, it was now the Grim Reaper's scythe, endlessly harvesting lives.

Blood splattered, replaced instantly by more.

When Blood Rain Dance ended, Shigure sheathed his blade.

"Pfft!!"

"Pfft!!"

"Pfft!!"

The Nakajima retainers nearly simultaneously spewed blood from all over, drenched in crimson as if soaked by bloody rain.

"Ah!"

"Ghost?!"

"You're a demon?! A ghost?!"

"What are you?!" Nakajima gaped, unable to fathom Shigure's merciless nature.

"None are correct… I am Asura. Die!" Shigure drew the Dragon Fang Blade once again, then sheathed it abruptly and turned away, ignoring Nakajima's stunned pleas.

"Why… can I see… my own body… and head…" Nakajima's consciousness faded as Shigure beheaded him cleanly.

"Is it the Ōtsutsuki bloodline's influence? Killing so easily, without discomfort…" Shigure did not dwell.

He left the Nakajima residence.

"Shigure! Are you okay?" Suisen looked at Shigure, spotless and calm despite the massacre.

"Where are those people? Did they let you go?" Amahara Ye asked.

Shigure smiled and waved.

"The Nakajima family no longer exists."

"The Leaf ninjas will handle the cleanup. Mr. Amahara, please explain to the Daimyo for me." Shigure organized final details.

Amahara Ye smiled faintly at Suisen's gaze.

The three walked through Daimyo City as dusk fell.

Amahara Ye, moved, said:

"I'm sorry… Shigure, about before, I was too narrow-minded. Your talent as a ninja matches your business acumen."

"Father, what are you talking about?" Suisen asked, confused.

"Haha! Nothing," Amahara Ye chuckled awkwardly.

"It's fine—I'm no weakling in business either. Maybe we'll cooperate deeply someday. In my view, being a ninja and being a merchant share the same goal."

"Oh? How?" Ye was curious—before, ninjas and merchants were unrelated in his mind.

"To be a ninja is to be strong enough to protect more people. To be a merchant is to be wealthy enough to help more people," Shigure explained seriously.

Shigure wasn't just sentimental, but in the Naruto world, strength and love were both vital.

With strength but no love, one becomes corrupted, like Madara and Kaguya, doomed to fail.

With love but no strength, one is powerless, unable to shape fate, destined to be crushed.

"So that's it… my view was too limited." Amahara Ye admired Shigure's ambition.

"This one doesn't want to hide away in Konoha, but to influence the whole ninja world. His future is limitless!"

Looking at Suisen and Shigure again, Amahara Ye apologized sincerely:

"Suisen, I'm sorry."

"Huh?" Suisen looked at Shigure and understood:

"Because of Shigure, even my stubborn father's views have changed…"
