Chapter 94 - HISD Chapter 94 Doomsday Calls Out to Apokolips

HISD Chapter 94 Doomsday Calls Out to Apokolips

Paradise Island.

This was the land protected by the power of Zeus, a true sanctuary isolated from the world. Once you leave the island, it could never be found again. It was Earth's final untouched paradise.

But now, the peace that had lasted for thousands of years was shattered. The barrier maintained by Zeus's divine power was torn open at the top, and through the gap burst a massive, terrifying figure of black bone spikes.

All the Amazons looked up in shock and confusion.

The next moment, the warning horns and alarm bells thundered across Paradise Island.

"Antiope!"

From the palace at the center of the island, Queen Hippolyta charged out, her crown gleaming above her flowing cape, a bow and quiver strapped to her back, and a longsword gripped firmly in her hand. The aura of a queen radiated from her without question.

Beside her, the muscular general Antiope strode out with thunderous steps. Her bronzed frame radiated strength as she bellowed, "I'm here! All Amazon warriors, follow the Queen and me into battle!"

"Yes, General!"

Hundreds of disciplined female warriors rushed forward, mounted their swift steeds, and rode down to the plain beneath the mountain town. Looking up, they saw the intruder.

The creature of bone spines floated in the air, clad in a tight black battle suit with a tattered cape. His burning red eyes looked down upon Paradise Island, and an oppressive aura of destruction pressed down on every living thing, choking them.

"Kill the intruder without mercy!" Queen Hippolyta shouted, her sword slashing forward as a signal.

In an instant, the Amazon army unleashed their assault. Bows twanged, spears were hurled, and countless iron arrows and spears shot toward the bone-spiked monster high above.

Though primitive, in the hands of Amazons with superhuman strength, these weapons flew with terrifying force. Even after traveling a hundred meters, their speed and power did not wane. Any outsider would believe these arrows could pierce stone walls, and their spears skewer iron plates.

But then—

Shu-shu-shu!

Just as the storm of arrows and spears was about to tear the monster apart, every single weapon froze three meters away from his body. They hung in the air, caught by a vast and invisible power, their force drained, their momentum gone. Not one so much as grazed his armor.

The island fell silent. Every Amazon stared, stunned, their disbelief written across their faces.

High above them, Yi Meng, in his Ancient Doomsday form, looked down at the island. His x-ray vision pierced through flesh and armor alike, even down to the bloodlines in their genes. He lost interest almost immediately.

Too weak.

They were only marginally stronger than ordinary humans—so weak, in fact, that he didn't even feel the urge to destroy them.

He hadn't even raised a hand. The overflowing biological forcefield around his body had effortlessly neutralized their attacks.

That invisible aura, born of his Kryptonian genes, was the biological forcefield—an energy fusion of his natural strength and power. It could bolster attacks, shield against damage, and even protect anything he wished.

For example: Superman's forcefield allows him to carry a massive Boeing jet intact, wrapping it in his aura. Homelander, lacking such a forcefield, would punch straight through the fuselage if he tried.

Yi Meng's forcefield, however, had evolved differently from Superman's.

Crackle!

Without moving, Yi Meng let the forcefield absorb the arrows and spears' kinetic energy, converting it into raw power for himself.

Buzz!

A crimson sphere of lightning exploded outward like a miniature burning sun, vaporizing the arrows and spears before surging down toward the plain below.

"Defend!"

Hippolyta and Antiope shouted in unison, eyes wide with terror.

The Amazons huddled together, raising round metal shields above their heads.

Crash!

The blazing shockwave hit them like a storm. Hundreds of Amazons were thrown off their feet, shields glowing red-hot, bodies flung aside like stalks of wheat before a scythe.

Too weak.

Yi Meng hadn't even struck yet. His forcefield's passive counterblast alone had devastated the defenders of Paradise Island.

But the Amazons weren't his goal.

Paradise Island, relic of the Greek gods' age, held many treasures. Among them, one in particular drew his attention.

With a sonic boom, the spined giant became a streak of black light, tearing toward the far cliffs of the island.

Cries of pain echoed behind him across the ruined plains.

"Your Majesty, are you hurt?" Antiope tossed aside her scorched shield and rushed to help Hippolyta, whose crown had been knocked off.

"I'm fine. Where did it go?"

The Queen shook her head, scanning the skies anxiously. The fear in her eyes lingered. A being that powerful had scarcely been seen even in the age of the gods.

Antiope's voice was bitter. "It looked like it was heading for the cliffside temple."

"What?!" Hippolyta stiffened in horror. "It… could it be tied to that alien force?!"

…

At the edge of the island, built into the cliffs, stood a round fortress-like temple.

Boom!

Air thundered as the black-armored monster dove, smashing through the temple's metal dome. He landed with crushing force upon the central dais, stone slabs cracking beneath his weight. Dust and rubble swirled in a storm around him.

Rising, Yi Meng's crimson gaze locked on a cube resting atop a stone pillar.

It was about twice the size of a basketball, coated in centuries of dust, left untouched for ages.

His eyes blazed.

A Mother Box.

Relic of Apokolips in the DC Universe, brought to Earth when Darkseid attempted to conquer the planet millennia ago. Though he was repelled by the combined might of gods and alien defenders, the Mother Boxes were left behind.

Three had been entrusted to the victors: one to the Amazons, one to Atlantis, and one to humankind.

The Amazon's Mother Box was here, before him.

Yi Meng reached out, lifted the cube with ease, and toyed with it in his hand. His mouth curled into a grin that was, in his mind, friendly.

"Hello? You there? I'd like to speak with Apokolips."
