Chapter 4 - [Station Tour] — Field Test (2)

Jang Hye continued nevertheless,

"For example, it seems like some people here know more than others,"

Most likely.. I thought of that regardless, those people look so annoyed at her, it's a bit funny how red their faces got,

Hic

XP

I use a hand to cover my mouth,

"Some of us signed up for this position, and some of us have no idea how we ended up here. In fact, several people died to the host because they had no clue what was happening."

Oh yeah, now that I think about it, had it been planned that way? That makes it feel more sinister, they purposely mixed in people who'd instinctively rebel to kill to set an example,

Hah…

Chills.

"That's.. right..! I don't have any idea what's happening! I never applied for a job! I already work at a restaurant!"

"I..I applied for a job..! B..but not this one! I applied for an office job.. not whatever the hell this is.."

The woman nodded, as though confirming something to herself her bob swaying as she turned her head to face the group,

"And how many of us applied for this position specifically?"

Only a few hands raised amidst the crowd,

"Hey! Does that even matter? We can have this conversation after we get out of here? We don't have time for this!"

The pale woman in blue seemed agitated, I wonder why, all they needed were flesh shields wasn't it? Were they scared we weren't going to get on the trains?

[Do~Do~Doo~!]

"Ah.. again? Should we get on this train..?"

"There's a limit to how many people per train." The thin man sighed, fixing his glasses as he tried to regain his composure

[Ahem, ahem, This Train is heading to Saint, Saint Station.]

"What!? Why didn't you say that sooner?!"

"Shouldn't that be obvious? All trains have a capacity limit you damn morons." He hissed

[All passengers heading to Saint Station, please board this train]

"W..what the hell..then.. wh..which train should we board..?"

"Jang Hye. This is precisely why we didn't want anyone to question everything, now look at the chaos you've caused""

The woman in blue shook her head, "Only because you people haven't explained anything, you expect us to put our lives in the hands of strangers?" Jang Hye challenged,

We're probably going to die

All of us are too impassive, we'll die waiting around like this

[The train is stopping, please wait until it completely stops before attempting to enter.]

"If you don't want our help then go ahead and board the train yourself." The sturdy man scoffed, gritting his teeth,

[The doors are opening, please wait until they completely open before attempting to enter]

People glanced around at each other, "If you don't want to, you can stay on the platform. It's your choice." he challenged

[The doors are open. Please Enter the Train for Saint Station]

Only one stepped forward, predictably, Jang Hye,

"Fine, I don't trust any of you."

She scoffed, brushing her brown hair over her shoulder as she stepped onto the train, her decision gave a lot of people relief as they followed her decision,

17 people, not a lot, probably not enough to hit the train limit

[The train will depart again in 90 seconds. Once set off, this train will never return, and all passengers will have permanently missed their stop.]

Who knows if their destination is even 'Saint Station', they might as well have killed themselves,

Not that I can have an opinion about it, I'm still standing here.

Then, Jang Hye pressed her lips together, opening her mouth to try and say something, before the man's head who was standing next to her fell off,

No, not fell, but more so yanked off by a glowing figure in dark robes, insect-like claws that gripped around his neck and ripped it off, blood splattering on Jang Hye's face as his body fell over, its beak latching into the head as a disgusting slurping followed its movement,

"Ah.. ahh… ahhh…"

The silence was nothing but sheer horror as the thing tossed the severed head, the disembodied skull wide-eyed and eyes glazed rolled out of the open doors, the delayed panic finally hit them and people started screaming in sheer terror.

[The doors are closing, please do not attempt to exit]

Despite the announcement Jang Hye stumbled backwards, falling halfway out of the closing doors, but the creature moved with unnerving speed, stabbing into her calf as she screamed, dragging her back into the train as the doors closed, saliva dripped and drooled from its mouth, corrosive sizzling as it ate away at the floor,

"No! No godplease No! It burns!"

The sickening sound of flesh tearing, bone crunching, blood gurgling, and screaming is the last thing they heard until the doors completely closed.

[The doors are closed. The train is departing, this train will not return, if another Train claims to be heading to Saint Station, do not board that Train.]

The people's screams are muffled as they ran toward the windows and clawed at them until their nails broke and fingers bled, but they couldn't get out, like the announcement had said, once the doors closed the train would never come back, it wouldn't open ever again,

Those people cried and sobbed, one by one their heads were ripped off, blood splattering all over the windows as the Train started moving,

However the screaming hadn't stopped, the people around him were still screaming,

Everyone was terrified, if anything, they'd become even more frenzied, screaming, retching, some people even fleeing,

"No! I'll die, I'll really die here…!"

The Woman standing next to me collapsed to her knees, retching, if I had half a mind I'd probably be disgusted by the vomit on my shoes, but I was too busy trying not to vomit myself,

"I'm going to die... We'll all die... my son.. what will my son do... I'll die in this horrible place.." she mumbled like a possessed woman, sobbing into her hands,

Among it all my nose now felt increasingly sensitive, the putrid stench smelled worse than a trash heap,

It smelled terrible, the smell of blood, puke, urine, I'm practically losing my mind at this point, nausea crept up my throat, sizzling with a foul burn,

"Pathetic," The thin man muttered coldly,

As though the gory sight had somehow been as natural as the normal world and that we were just overreacting,

This was incomparable to horror. Those were real people being ripped to absolute shreds

The sturdy man, standing nearby, offered a rare moment of kindness in the form of pitiless honesty. "This is reality. Wake up, Everyone who went on that Train is dead."

The thin looked at our expressions and scoffed with pure disgust, "Annoying."

"Most newcomers doing the field test end up like this anyway." The woman in blue shrugged from the side.

And then a familiar sound filled the air, causing a hush amongst them

[Do~Do~Doo~!]

"No.. no! No one get on a train!"

"Again…? After what we just witnessed!?"

"Sob.. i don't want to die..! Sob.."

[Ahem, ahem, This Train is heading to Low, Low Station.]

"There isn't a choice, all of us have to enter a train eventually, once all the trains pass anyone left on the station dies automatically" she hummed, her smirk twisted into something sinister,

The thin man pushed his glasses up his nose, "Since you've all already decided that you don't need our help, we just won't help any of you."

[All passengers heading to Low Station, please board this train]

"What?! Why! We didn't do anything! They're the ones that got on that train..!"

"Please help us!"

[The train is stopping, please wait until it completely stops before attempting to enter.]

"God.. please why..! What have I done to deserve this..!?"

[Do~Do~Doo~!]

"I don't want to die..! Please I don't want to die..!"

Something sick and full of dread rolls into a Pit in my stomach at the dark, sinister looks on their faces

[We are sorry, due to unforeseen events, This Train requires a minimum of (8) Passengers, before it can make its Departure]

This is what they needed body bags for.

They didn't need meat shields, they needed bodies to toss into trains until they could board the right one
