Chapter 104 - Memory Transfer

Miguel's POV

The beeping from Diego's monitor shifted—rapid, stuttering, wrong. My pulse hammered to match it.

I leaned over him, pressing two fingers against his neck. His pulse had increased, erratic and skipping in uneven bursts.

"His pulse is off," I said, voice tight with panic. "It's—it's like skipping beats. Something's not right." I repeated, my hands trembling slightly as I tried to decide what to do next. "We need to act now before it's too late."

"I will make a call to Dr. Chen because I don't think I know anything of this and to avoid losing Diego," Isabel said, her voice shaking, pale as she looked at Diego's flailing monitor.

She was already dialing her phone with trembling hands.

"Dr. Chen," she whispered, voice barely controlled. "It's Diego—something's happening! Please, we need help!"

"Put me on speaker," Dr. Chen's voice snapped through the line, calm but commanding. "Tell me everything you see. Now." Her tone cut through the chaos like ice.
