Arin's POV
I closed my eyes and made the most difficult decision of my life. Even though I could feel my twins becoming weaker inside of me, I muttered, "I won't do it."
"I won't harm defenseless infants in order to protect my own."
The forest reverberated with Queen Althara's laughter. "Then, Bridge, you have selected their demise. How honorable of you."
Like icy hands attempting to erase my children, the Unmaking Ritual pressed against my belly. I could feel my twins fading, kicking wildly in an attempt to survive.
There are twenty seconds remaining.
Rowan suddenly materialized next to me, his blue eyes blazing with rage. "Arin, there's another way."
"What way?" Another wave of the Unmaking spell struck, and I gasped.
"Believe me."
I felt his wolf spirit speaking directly to my twins as soon as he put his hands on my stomach. "Believe in us all."
Fifteen seconds.
