Arin's POV
I struck what seemed to be a wall of yelling voices. My body struck the floor forcefully in an unexpected location. Above me, the sky was purple and dotted with floating stones. Fear and metal were the flavors of the air. However, I wasn't by myself.
In front of me was the enormous creature that had dragged me through the crevice. It was even scarier up close. Its skin appeared to be composed of writhing, moving darkness. Its body was covered in many eyes, all of them hungrily staring at me.
"Finally," it said in a thunderous voice. "The little Luna who believes she can save everyone."
My legs felt like jelly as I attempted to stand up. I was weak from sharing all that power with everyone back home. I was no longer able to feel the Luna bond.
"Where are we?" Trying to sound braver than I actually felt, I asked.
The animal chuckled. "The Void Between is this. The intersection of dimensions. And the place where you'll pass away."
