Arin's POV
Beside me, a dragon formed entirely of electricity smashed into the trees. As its lightning breath reduced three oak trees to ash, I rolled away.
It wasn't one of our dragons. This thing sparked like broken power lines because it had too many heads and eyes.
"Where did that come from?" Jaxon shouted as he assisted me in standing up.
I gestured toward the dozen tears in the sky above us. Every rift in reality was releasing creatures I had never seen before. Shadowy things with tentacles. Wolves with human faces and two legs. Metal-winged birds with shrill voices.
As I watched another rift form, I remarked, "The Harbinger broke everything. The boundaries between dimensions are disintegrating."
Still standing, the original Harbinger grew larger as it ate up the mayhem. However, we now faced more significant issues. Something new and terrible crept through one of the tears every few seconds.
