Arin's POV
Black veins fought the silver ice that was already covering his arms and raced up his neck as Rowan screamed.
"Avoid him!" Alpha Vaughn roared and suddenly materialized with a pack of warriors. "That thing is dangerous!"
"Your son is that thing!" I stepped defensively in front of Rowan and shouted back.
Alpha Vaughn said, "No," with icy-cold eyes. "The day I discovered my son's true nature, he passed away."
Rowan sounded like an injured animal. Suddenly, every demon within fifty yards turned toward us as the black veins pulsed. To bow, not to attack.
"Oh no," muttered Count Aldric. "They acknowledge him as one of their own."
"I am not a demon!" Rowan's voice was different when he gasped. Deeper. More frightening.
Lord Frost and Lady Seraphina looked at each other anxiously.
"This actually changes everything," Lady Seraphina said slowly. "Fae-demon hybrids are extremely uncommon. Incredibly strong."
