Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Pirate King And Legacy

Paramecia-Type Devil Fruit: Ondo Ondo no Mi. (T/N: Thermo-Thermo Fruit, an Original Devil Fruit.)

A fruit that granted Sakura the ability to freely manipulate the heat of objects.

From now on, Sakura could introduce herself as the Thermo Human, who ate the Ondo Ondo no Mi.

"It's truly an incredible power, but it's a pity that it's not fully developed yet."

The rock in Sakura's hand instantly melted under her ability, turning into a pool of magma.

Then, she drained the heat away, transforming it into obsidian that gleamed with a transparent light.

The poor rock was like Kick the Buddy, mercilessly toyed with by the girl~

"Adding heat will be called Red Hand. Extracting heat will be called Blue Hand. From now on, this move will be called Red and Blue Hands!"

Sakura's style abruptly changed. She stuck out her tongue, acting cute for the members of the Roger Pirates.

"Take naming your moves seriously!"

Gaban delivered a karate chop to Sakura's head.

"That's right. If you do that, you'll lose momentum when facing enemies later."

Hearing Gaban's words, Rayleigh nodded as if it were a serious matter.

"Hmph, Uncle Rayleigh, you, who never call out move names during fights, have no right to criticize me."

Sakura made a funny face, casually waving her small hand.

"If someone is defeated by a move like that, it would just become a laughingstock across the seas if it got out."

The girl's ridiculous smile lingered in the hearts of all the Roger Pirates' crew members.

Always remember that: Although cool move names seem to be everywhere on the street-

no one could bear the shame of being killed by [Pink Bunny Rabbit].

"Hey, guys, the new course is set!"

Roger, having obtained the Poneglyph translation, ran over excitedly.

The Roger Pirates' members rushed towards Roger as if finding a savior.

In the end, the incident concluded with Roger ordering Sakura not to use such move names on her comrades.

The Poneglyph's copy brought back from Vulcan Island contained the locations of the last two Red Poneglyphs.

Sakura followed Roger's group first to Wano Country.

There, they sent Kozuki Toki and her two children back to Kuri, made a copy of the Road Poneglyph, and then went to Zou, the Mokomo Dukedom.

After finding the final Road Poneglyph, the Oro Jackson set sail for its set destination… the final island, Laugh Tale.

On the deck, Buggy, who had been excitedly anticipating the journey, suddenly turned red all over and collapsed.

"Falling sick right before the great adventure? Are you a child?"

In the infirmary, Shanks, leaning against the doorframe, teased Buggy.

"Hoho~ this might be the misfortune of missing out just before reaching the treasure~"

Sakura carried a basket of fruit, placing it by Buggy's bedside.

Turning around, she casually took an apple from it and started munching.

"Shut up, you monstrous gorilla! I said I'm already better!"

"Hmm?"

A murderous glint flashed in Sakura's eyes. She pulled out a quilt and rope and trussed Buggy up like a turkey.

Unexpectedly, during the process, she actually managed to bend Buggy's body into two separate parts.

"You! When did you eat a Devil Fruit?!"

Sakura was stunned by his change, allowing Buggy to escape her restraints.

The escaping Buggy completely ignored her. His upper half flew out and latched onto Roger's leg.

"Captain, take me with you! I don't want to be the unlucky one in the monstrous gorilla's stories!"

"Damn it!"

Sakura grabbed Buggy's head and pulled him off Roger's leg.

She forcefully stuffed him back into the quilt and sealed the opening tightly around his neck.

After all the commotion, the sky gradually darkened.

Shanks took the ice pack Sakura made and placed it on the incessantly chattering Buggy's forehead.

"With Buggy making such a fuss, are you two really okay not going? Shanks, Sakura."

Oden stood with his hands folded inside his sleeves. Roger, sitting before him, was also looking at them.

"Oden-san, Captain, if we go, we'll go on our own ship."

"When the time comes, I'll make Sakura my vice-captain!"

Shanks put on the straw hat Roger gave him and grinned, extending his hand towards Sakura.

"In your dreams!"

Sakura flicked Shanks' forehead, sending him tumbling to the ground, and stole his chair.

"Conquering the seas, tempering your spirit, and finally turning everything into nourishment for your will."

"Only by completing the entire journey yourself can your Conqueror's Haki reach Captain Roger's level, right?"

After speaking, Sakura turned her head and smiled at Roger.

"Then we leave everything to you, Sakura, Shanks!"

Roger stood up, placing a hand on both Sakura and Shanks' heads.

"Oh, right, pursuing our Sakura won't be easy, Shanks. You'll have to work hard."

"I'll do my best."

"Captain!!! And Shanks, you bastard!"

"Wahahahaha!"

That night, laughter on the ship lasted a long time, and the bruise on Shanks' face lasted just as long.

After daybreak, the three of them disembarked in the North Blue.

The girl watched under the morning sun as the pirates crossed the Calm Belt, heading for the legendary final island.

....

One week later.

"Sakura, look!"

Shanks rushed into the inn with a newspaper and slammed it onto the table.

"'Sailed around the world, Pirate King Gold Roger'..."

Sakura saw the headline on the World Economic News Paper and couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"What's so funny?"

Shanks looked puzzled at the pink-haired girl before him, scratching his head.

"You grew up on the ship. Don't you know Captain's real name?"

"Gol D. Roger!!!" Shanks exclaimed, losing his voice.

"Yeah, who would have thought the mighty World Government would fear a single name? Don't you think that's funny?"

Sakura laughed until she was bent over, slapping the table hard.

But in a place Shanks couldn't see, the girl used her laughter to mask the tears streaming from the corners of her eyes.

The journey to the final island was over. From now on, Roger's life was on a countdown.

"It's really... like a dream."

Sakura sighed softly and began packing her bags.

"Eh? What have you two been talking about since just now?"

Buggy, emerging from the bathroom, asked confused. But soon, he understood why Sakura was packing.

That afternoon, as news coos filled the entire port, the Oro Jackson cut through the waves and docked at the pier.

After picking up the three of them, it hurriedly left the North Blue.

Roger, who had already shaken the entire seas, earned a legendary title, [The Pirate King].

Countless pirates wanted to defeat Roger, seize his wealth, fame, and power, to become the next man to rule the world.

Marines and agents under the World Government also sprang into action, searching with all their might for this man who had touched the forbidden.

Thus, on an afternoon bathed in the setting sun, Roger gathered all the members of his pirate crew.

"Thinking back, it's all a miracle. I, who is destined not to live long, actually made it this far. It's all thanks to everyone."

Roger's gaze swept over each crew member one by one, finally resting on Sakura.

"Then, I now announce the final captain's order!"

"The Roger Pirates... are disbanded!"

Abandoning the great force he had built with his own hands, Roger actually showed a look of relief on his face.

Sakura felt an immense magnitude from the man before her… a vision far beyond the narrow sight of ordinary men, a spirit tempered after sailing the entire world.

'Even though his life was nearing its end, how many people in the world could pick up everything and then put it down so lightly?'

"Wah, Captain, no!"

"Captain Roger, you fool!!"

"Wahhhhh...."

The crew members scratched their ears and cheeks, some pleading with Roger, others trying to persuade him to stay.

However, none could sway Roger's resolve.

"Hehe, let's find a place without Marines. I'll be the first to disembark!"

Roger laughed and suggested, but this time he didn't use his captain's commanding tone.

The Oro Jackson sailed to the South Blue and slowly docked.

The crew of the Roger Pirates stood at the ship's rail, watching with tears as Roger walked towards the distant town.

Just then, a figure rushed out from the crowd and lunged at Roger, who was about to disappear into the people.

Thump!

Roger opened his arms and caught Sakura. Then, he spoke in a helpless voice:

"Really now, didn't we agree it was a man's farewell, no seeing off?"

"Who cares about that! I'm a girl."

In the two years since joining the Roger Pirates, Sakura had fought alongside Roger, laughed alongside him.

She had tasted the pain of losing comrades and reaped the joy of the journey's beautiful scenery.

For Sakura, the Roger Pirates are her second family.

It was just a pity that now, the family was breaking up.

Sakura couldn't help but feel an inexplicable sadness, and a huge sense of loss lingered in her heart.

"Really, I chose this way precisely because I couldn't bear to say goodbye properly." Roger muttered softly.

He gently patted Sakura's head, letting her tears soak into his clothes.

He casually untied the sword at his waist, one of the 11 Supreme Grade Swords, Ace.

Before Sakura could react, Roger used the sword to swap himself out of her grasp.

"Thank you, child from another world. Thank you for becoming my crew member!"

A sea breeze blew from afar, lifting the Pirate King's hat and revealing a face gaunt from illness.

However, the unrestrained smile on the man's lips never lost an ounce of its boldness.

Roger raised his fist, turned around without a trace of lingering attachment, leaving everyone with a dashing figure.

"Goodbye, Captain Roger!"

Not chasing after Roger's figure again, Sakura just held the famed sword tightly in her arms.

She wiped the tear stains from her face and turned to walk back to the Oro Jackson.
