After watching the video, Godfrey dropped the tablet on the sofa and leaned his head back, exhaling softly.
Isolde tilted her head when the silence lingered too long.
"My father died defending me and my mother. I don't know who this is but it's not him."
Isolde's eyes narrowed, then she closed them with a pained expression. "It's him, Godfrey. Not some plot by Cain. I saw him in a vision."
"What exactly did you see, Isolde?" Godfrey glanced at her from the corner of his left eye. His golden irises were like the sharp, gleaming edge of a knife.
Isolde's eyes widened. She understood what Godfrey meant by that question. Glimpses of the future didn't mean the full picture… the same way she didn't know the black knight was her or that her inference didn't cause a change but instead she became a different catalyst for the same end.
"I only saw his face." She closed her eyes regretfully.
