"You stinky toy boy!" She yelled and moved at a speed visible to the naked eye. This was the first time I saw a Lunarian take action.
A powerful hand restrained her own.
"Lady Sylvia, I don't think that's the right thing to do." A boy with dark brown hair spoke.
"Don't provoke people and expect them to applaud you." He added.
That was very close. If that hit had landed I swear I would have been a dead body now.
"My name is Jeff. Happy to meet you." The boy stretched his hand.
I placed my small hand on his. He was taller so I had to look up at him.
"Argent!" I said with a smile.
His eyes froze and he blinked before nodding.
"Beautiful name." He commented. "Thank you."
I sat down with them but nobody came to seek trouble with me. I just listened to them ridicule each other. They were five in number. Apart from Jeff and Sylvia, the others were, Quera, Kiara, and Anthon. Quera and Kiara were twins. Don't get me wrong. Quera is a boy and Kiara is a girl.
I learnt from them that Sylvia was engaged to the Young Duke of Spring City.
Spring city was still under the Sovereign which just made me wonder how big the immortal land is. Apart from spring city they also talked about other Cities and Factions. The Factions are smaller than the cities and also have a ruler who was under the Sovereign and make reports every Lunar month.
"Lord Argent, the Sovereign requests your presence." The maid who led me to this courtyard cam e back to inform me. I guess the court was done with their meeting.
"See you next time then." I said throwing them a glance.
"We are also leaving anyway." Said Jeff.
I walked out with the maid and felt heated gazes plastered to my back.
Serena's POV
There was no way these people didn't know about Argent. In the court, the people I trusted were Lord Xuel and Lady Arguala.
Before I became the Sovereign, they were the closest to Argent and since I was in a relationship with him, we became friends along the way.
I learnt they were his mates in the Royal Training School and they became friends when they were there.
I appointed them to take the position of the strategist.
Lady Arguala was a crafty fox that can turn your word against you, be it business or battle.
Lord Xuel was in charge of the military. He taught the soldiers formation for battle and how to use mental force to make your attack more powerful.
I took a parchment from the tray and opened it. It was submitted by Lord Justice.
He had the personality of a fence sitter. He was not under anybody's manipulation. He was a free man devoid of any ambitions and was known for always speaking the truth to your face no matter how much it'll hurt.
"Sovereign!" He bowed.
"I am represents the lunarians in the Sun faction. There has been a lot of moon beast running rampant lately and a lot of the citizens are either wound or have lost them lives.
Most of the moon beast are above their level so that can't fight them. I implore the Sovereign to dispatch troops to curb the unrest in the Sun faction."
"It seems the Lunadom is about to face a severe change." Lord Azaria quipped.
"Why do you say so Lord Azaria?" I inquired.
He was someone who was chasing after power, everybody knew him for his ambitious nature and frivolous lifestyle.
Him being in the court was a major turn off. He added less to the court but receive benefits from the court.
"When Sovereign Argent was about to face his doom, the moon beasts appeared. It seems like this time it is going to start from the Sun faction.
Lunar beast were like monsters. They survive on the blood of Lunarians. They could also leave by absorbing the pure spiritual force that came from nature. They rarely come to the surface.
I was fuming when he Mentioned Argent but I showed no emotion on my face.
