When... clearing his throat, Peter looked at her. "I'm waiting."
"Well... ummm... I came to see if you are with Manny."
"Manny?" he said, looking confused.
"Yeah, Manny, you know? My doll?"
"Why the hell will I have your doll with me?" he said, looking at her suspiciously.
"I don't know, you tell me. You just like antagonizing me and you know it."
"Mia, get the hell out of my room," he retorted. Folding the duffel bag with the tooth brush in his mouth
"Fine, I will go, but I'm watching you."
She then turned to the door, the book still tucked in her clothes, its worn cover pressing faintly against her skin.
Peter was packing a bunch of his clothes.
"And Mia..."
"Yes?" She turned to look at him.
Still arranging his clothes, not sparing her a glance.
"Who should I tell? Mom? Or Dad? That you are reading a R-rated Journal"
Her eyes narrowing.
"So you knew I took it?" she said.
"No, actually, I know you and I know how you brain works." To be honest, I haven't even checked if it's in there. But I gotta say, as my little sister, you never disappoint," he said.
"Are you gonna tell Mom?"
"Who knows? Maybe, maybe not?" His face now facing her.
"In fact, it's up to you."
"What do you want, Peter?" she said, her eyes rolling.
"You see, I want to get this new Xbox game and I'm a few dollars short of money."
"Seriously, extorting your little sister for money? What lengths won't you stoop to?"
"You are right. I should just go ask Mom for the money," he said, flicking his fingernails.
"Fine, I will give you my allowance for this week."
"Deal!"
"That wasn't so hard, was it?"
"Okay then, since I'm not doing anything, why don't we read the journal?"
She looked at him.
"Like hell you will, you just extorted me for something so trivial we were both accomplices, you won't read the novel," she said holding it tighter
"Okay then"
" let me just go downstairs and..." He said signalling that he will do it.
"Do it! I'll tell them u extorted me out of my allowance " she said her face looking annoyed
" Technically your allowance is still with you, is it not? You can't tell mum I took it, if I don't even have it.you don't have a case little sister".
He said happy with himself
Not saying a word she just kept staring at him with menance
"Oh little sister"
coming closer to pet her head ,he said
" you are way too young to play this games with me".
Pushing his palm away she replied.
"Fine. I just want to let you know, if Mom and Dad find out about this, I am taking you down with me."
"Threatening me? You are definitely my little sister."
Scoffing, she sat on his bed and opened the book once again, the pages rustling softly under her fingers.
