How to deal with a dragon had become Harry's biggest headache.

Ever since he found out the first task involved dragons, he couldn't stop thinking about it. While he'd learned a lot of spells and considered himself a competent wizard, he didn't have much confidence facing a creature at the top of the food chain.

His first impression of a dragon was still Norbert, the baby dragon Hagrid kept at home. Just a bite from a newly hatched dragon could make a finger swell up like a bun and ooze pus if not treated in time. He couldn't imagine what an adult dragon would do—it would probably take a layer of skin off him, if not kill him outright.

What would D do?

Every day, Harry tried to think about the problem from Dudley's perspective, and the answer was always the same: D would definitely have a solution. He was always so impressive. Harry really wanted to ask Dudley for help, but he always held back because they were now competitors.

Harry sat alone in his bedroom, idly flipping through books on dragon taming, contemplating a strategy for the upcoming tournament. Suddenly, the fireplace spontaneously lit up with a crackling sound, and the flames formed a face.

It had a distinctive curly hairstyle and a small, sexy mustache.

"Harry... I heard you're in a bit of a pickle."

It was Sirius. He hadn't given up on Harry, and whenever he had a spare moment, he'd come over to 'bother' him. According to Sirius, Harry was his reason for living. As Harry's godfather, he hadn't fulfilled his duties when Harry was a child, so now he wanted to atone for his sins with the rest of his time.

It's worth mentioning that he would never show himself if Dudley or Snape were around. He rarely even appeared when Ron or Neville were there, only showing up when Harry was alone.

Even though Harry usually didn't pay him much mind, having someone to consult with was a good thing right now. Staring at the face in the flames, Harry asked the question that was most on his mind.

"Do you know how to deal with a dragon?"

"What? A dragon? Harry, are you joking? That takes several grown wizards to... Your father at your age... Oh, I mean, that's really cool."

After listening to him ramble on without getting to the point, Harry was clearly losing his patience. "If you can't help, please be quiet and let me think."

Asking Sirius for advice was a mistake. How could he rely on a guy who couldn't even last a few rounds against Snape, a guy who got a spell to hang him from the ceiling all night? He'd be better off asking Neville what kind of herbs were best for fighting a dragon.

The strength of a dragon isn't just a threat to other magical creatures; it's a huge threat to wizards too. They're at the very top of the 5X-rated magical creatures list. Their skin has extremely high magical resistance and can withstand most spells. Even if a spell gets through, its effect is severely weakened, which is why dragon-hide gloves are the best protective gear in the wizarding world.

Even though Harry had learned a lot of spells, very few of them would actually work on a dragon. Fiendfyre might be one, but Harry hadn't mastered it, and his casting speed was too slow. A dragon wouldn't just stand there stupidly and wait for him to finish casting.

Right when you summon the Fiendfyre, the dragon would either spit fire at you or just bite your head off.

Transfiguration might also work, but Harry wasn't confident he could suppress a dragon with it. He could only hold it back for a short time, maybe a minute or two at most in a life-or-death struggle. And that's even though Professor McGonagall had praised his skills.

So, Transfiguration plus Fiendfyre? That combination might have an effect.

Then there are potions. I remember Dudley taught me how to make a few unstable mixtures... Oh, right, I also have a vial of the Bludger-Strength Potion that can greatly enhance my physical abilities. While I still wouldn't be a match for a dragon in a physical fight... it would greatly improve my reaction time, giving me a chance to win.

I wonder how other wizards manage to defeat a dragon.

In fact, no wizard in the entire magical world wants to face a dragon head-on, not even a group of them. The first rule in the Hogwarts motto is "Never Tickle a Sleeping Dragon." The power of a magical creature at the top of the food chain is not something to joke about.

"Harry, Harry, Harry..."

As Harry was lost in thought, Sirius kept calling his name.

"Can you give me a minute of peace, Mr. Black?" Harry snapped, irritated. It was annoying to have his train of thought interrupted. He was so close to figuring out how to deal with a dragon.

A slightly hurt Sirius, after being scolded by Harry, quietly said, "I was just going to suggest you try the Conjunctivitis Curse."

"?"

Hearing Sirius's words, Harry paused. "Go on."

Sirius was about to be a little coy, but under Harry's intense gaze, he immediately came clean.

"Harry, listen to me. A dragon's most vulnerable spot is its eyes. That's the only place not covered by scales or skin, which means it has the lowest magical resistance. The Conjunctivitis Curse is the best way to deal with a dragon. A tiny spell is all it takes to blind even a powerful dragon."

No matter the creature, the eyes are incredibly fragile. Of course, if you're Homelander and your eyes shoot lasers, that's a different story.

Harry's eyes lit up. Yes, he'd figured it out.

It wasn't the Conjunctivitis Curse that Sirius mentioned, but the reminder in his words... The most vulnerable spot is the eye!

The eyes have the lowest magical resistance... So what if I used Sectumsempra on a dragon's eye?

Instead of a harmless spell that only blinds, Harry would rather use a spell that can cause the dragon some real damage. In his subconscious, he had already equated the first task with a fierce battle against the dragon.

I need to practice Sectumsempra these next few days. Oh, and can I attack the dragon's brain through its eye? I remember hearing D say once that the nerves in the eyes are connected to the brain. If I injected a poison...

Harry grew more and more excited the more he thought about it. If the other young wizards knew what was going through Harry's mind right now, they'd be shocked, thinking, Of course, that's Mr. Potter for you—his mind is full of poison and murder.

"Mr. Black, thank you."

Even though he still called him "Mr. Black," Sirius was as happy as a kid hearing those words. A good start is half the battle, and at least Harry was willing to talk to him.

Poor, desperate Sirius.
