Chapter 172 - Narrowing the Path

It was precisely because the Sea God knew what kind of guy Mephisto was that he was utterly astonished to learn that Han Yu was actually friends with him, the most surprising thing in a thousand years.

The Sea God frowned, pondered for a moment, and then spoke.

"What's your relationship with Asgard? What did they give you? I can give you something better. Now that Asgard has fallen, Odin has become a powerless wretch. Why don't you help me? When I swallow up Asgard, you'll certainly get your share of the benefits. How about it?"

He knew that someone who could safely bring Hela out from Mephisto's grasp must have extraordinary strength. If the Sea God went himself, he might not be able to do it, and he would have to pay a price.

This statement made Han Yu raise an eyebrow. He actually wanted to recruit him. He was certainly thinking big. He scratched his nails, a little impatiently, and said, "Are you going to fight or not? If you're not, just come over and die. I don't want to waste my breath on you."

The Sea God's expression gradually darkened. In front of him was a mysterious young man who could befriend Mephisto, and behind him, Hela was eyeing him covetously. He was now in a dilemma.

Suddenly, the Sea God's peripheral vision caught sight of a young girl beside Loki. The girl had been hugging a pile of unknown things and eating since she appeared. With mouthful after mouthful of food, anyone who didn't know better would think she was here on a sightseeing trip.

"This girl might be a breakthrough point. Let's capture her and take her hostage!"

The Sea God's eyes flashed with a hint of ruthlessness. Light surged from his feet as he sprinted with all his might, instantly appearing beside Galacta. He wrapped his arm around her neck, while his other hand held the Trident, the spearhead pressed against her throat.

Everyone was shocked, and they all began to complain.

"The Sea God, what a shameless guy, using a girl as a hostage!"

"Yeah, and she's so pretty, how could he do that!"

"Hmph, typical of invaders, this is exactly the kind of thing they would do."

The people of Asgard all scorned him, but at the same time, they were extremely worried. After seeing Galacta's actions, they were even more dumbfounded.

Galacta crammed all the food in her hands into her mouth. Her cherry-like lips somehow managed to fit so much food, her cheeks puffed out, looking like a hamster.

"Hmph hmph, you know you're scared, right? If you don't want anything to happen to her, then honestly retreat a hundred meters away, or I'll kill her!"

The Sea God laughed a few times, intending to enjoy the worried expressions on Han Yu and the others' faces, but found that both Hela and Han Yu wore intriguing expressions. Even Loki, who was beside them, sighed lightly and shook his head.

Han Yu and Hela, who had been nervous, thinking he was going to play some trick, instantly relaxed.

"Young man, you're taking a narrow path."

Han Yu couldn't help but laugh. He had been expecting a fierce battle. But this was good; the other party had directly delivered himself into the hands of the strongest among them. He'd never seen such a considerate villain, who, apparently not thinking he would die fast enough, had taken the initiative to present himself.

Hela was also amused. She ran her hands through her hair again, and her hair returned to normal, signaling that she had canceled her battle state. She said to Han Yu, "Since things here are under control, I'll leave it to you two. I'll go clear out the debris on the periphery."

"Okay, go ahead," Han Yu nodded.

"Hey, hey! What do you mean? Don't you care about this girl's life? I really will kill her!"

The other party's reaction was too unexpected. The Sea God shouted at them, and as he spoke, he nudged the Trident in his hand, only to find that he was pushing against an iron plate. The Trident in his hand had become like paper, and it couldn't pierce at all.

Looking down, he saw Galacta staring at him with wide eyes. Suddenly, she raised her hands, grabbed the sharp points on either side of the Trident, and with her delicate little hands, she snapped them off like they were biscuits, tossing them into her mouth and crunching away.

This scene left the Sea God dumbfounded. She had dismantled and eaten his Trident?

"Hey, stop!"

The Sea God was about to push Galacta away, but she had already taken apart the main head of the Trident, holding it in her hand and crunching on it like a biscuit.

"You, you ate my weapon?"

The Sea God rubbed his eyes in disbelief, fearing it was some kind of illusion. But when he looked up, the Trident in his hand had turned into a bare stick.

"It tastes pretty good. Just one bite and I can tell it's a great weapon. Give me the rest, and I'll let you die quickly."

Galacta's eyes were shining as she looked at the remaining stick in the Sea God's hand, saying.

"Monsters, monsters!"

The Sea God felt his whole body go numb. His Trident was a masterpiece, and while not invincible in the universe, it ranked in the top ten among cosmic-level weapons.

With a casual wave, he could overturn mountains and seas. Now, it was being bitten to pieces by a girl who looked so young. Who would believe it? These people are all monsters. This won't do; if I keep this up, I'll really die. I have to run! The Sea God thought to himself. Both Han Yu and Galacta astonished him.

He moved, appearing beside the Frost Giant and the Fire Giant. He whispered to them, "The three of us will attack that man together. Try to make a big commotion, and then I'll take the two of you and run. Do you understand?"

"Understood."

The two giants nodded. They were both equipped with gear provided by the Sea God, allowing them to exert their full strength.

The Fire Giant spread his hands, and extremely high-temperature flames surged from his palms.

The Frost Giant brought his hands together, and a few snowflakes occasionally drifted out from his palms.

Both were building up their killing moves, but they didn't notice the sudden viciousness in the Sea God's eyes behind them. With a flash of his hand, two mechanical devices appeared in his grasp, which he slapped onto the backs of the Frost Giant and the Fire Giant.

"Sorry, but to live, I have to sacrifice you both!"

The force of that slap was immense. Neither the Frost Giant nor the Fire Giant had expected that the person they had trusted to watch their backs would actually betray them.

Both were sent flying by the force. The devices the Sea God had installed on their backs detonated. The two were blown to pieces, and the energy contained within their bodies began to spread outwards.

Extreme cold and high heat, which should have been conflicting attributes, now refused to yield to each other, becoming both freezing and scorching. Anything that came into contact with the cold turned into a solid block from the inside out.
