Han Yu shook his head helplessly, but there was still a silver lining—at least now he could level up.
"System, open my personal panel!"
[Name: Han Yu][Shop Level: Senior Clerk][Basic Abilities: Undying Mark, Magic Conch][Limited Items: Mood Potion: Stormy Cry*1][Permanent Items: Green Light Ring, Rider Transformation Device, High-Fidelity Headphones, Multiverse Phone, Death Overlord Suit][Weapon Inventory: Ice Wheel, Haotian Hammer (Stage One)][Available Upgrade Points: 900][Points Needed for Promotion: 500]
...
"System, promote me!" Han Yu shouted eagerly. After this rank, he would become store manager—a day he had been waiting for a long time.
"Promotion points consumed. Current position: Junior Store Manager.Promotion rewards obtained: Item Draw Card2, Blank Rider Card5."
Seeing the five blank Rider Cards added to his inventory, Han Yu, a seasoned Rider enthusiast, immediately had a plan."Looks like I need to pay Rider-bro a visit—grab one of his cards and see what it's like to transform using the Rider Device."
He grinned and carefully stored these cards like treasures. Then he swiped through the shop inventory. Many items previously locked behind upgrade points were now free to claim.
"Yesss! Feels good!"
For the first time, Han Yu truly felt the power of the shop system. Before, every item cost upgrade points—but now, most were free.
"System, why are some of these sections still off-limits?"
He swiped down the list and noticed several grayed-out sections. Opening one, he saw items that made his heart race: divine weapons from multiple worlds, super armor, even Infinity Gems.
Just the Infinity Gems alone made him shiver. Thanos had fought countless dungeons across Sakaar and Earth just to get these.
And Han Yu? He could summon truckloads of them anytime—just for fun.
"Host, to freely access these items, you must reach Intermediate Store Manager or higher," the shop system explained.
Han Yu clapped his hands. Of course the shop system wouldn't let him top out so easily. Now, looking at these item sections, he realized that 500 upgrade points for promotion to store manager was actually quite modest.
Right now, he could pick a few extraordinary items from the shop and sell them, becoming a billionaire overnight.
But money was meaningless to him at the moment. What he truly wanted was power.
Not that he had become obsessively cautious after the Gaia Brand mission—but in the Marvel world, if he died, it would really be the end.
Even reaching Father-tier power wouldn't make him feel invincible. There were countless hidden gods in the vast universe, their lives counted in tens of thousands.
Compared to them, he was still insignificant. Fortunately, he had crossed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe—otherwise, in the comics, his current strength wouldn't even be enough to survive.
"Ah… one step at a time. First, let's grab some food."
Han Yu closed his personal panel, rubbed his stomach, and headed downstairs.
As he reached the first floor, the shop door suddenly swung open, startling him. In the doorway stood a bald man.
"What is it with me and bald guys? Another one?"
Seeing the bald man, Han Yu's first thought was to avert his attention from the shiny scalp. But looking down, the man's appearance froze him for a moment.
Lifeless deadfish eyes. A ridiculously outdated yellow uniform with red accents. A white cape draped behind him. And that bald head—completely comical.
But the face… a name slipped out instinctively:
"Saitama?"
Han Yu wasn't unfamiliar with this man. This was Saitama, who in his own world had the power to one-shot anything.
The only problem? He was cursed with terrible luck. Whenever he defeated a villain, either the public didn't see it, or they assumed another hero had done it. Often, they didn't believe he had done it at all.
Even with his incredible strength, he lingered in B-rank hero listings for a long time despite being S-rank capable—a frustrating situation.
Saitama lay on the floor like a corpse, unmoving. Han Yu bent down to check if he was dead.
Suddenly, Saitama grabbed Han Yu's ankle, his hoarse voice muttering something.
"What? Say that again?" Han Yu bent closer.
"I… I'm hungry…"
Turns out, he was just a very hungry man. Han Yu sighed and smiled, lifting him up and carrying him to the dining area, placing him on a chair.
"Hang tight. You just happened to arrive at meal time; otherwise, suddenly showing up, you wouldn't have anything to eat."
Han Yu rolled up his sleeves and started cooking. Considering Saitama might eat a lot, Han Yu prepared enough for four people. After all, he was a seasoned eater himself—eating two portions at a time was no problem.
The smell of food caught Saitama's attention, and his hazy eyes finally focused. Seeing himself in a strange room, his first reaction wasn't panic—just a calm, puzzled survey of the surroundings.
"Where am I?"
From the kitchen, Han Yu carried out the dishes. Seeing Saitama fully alert, he smiled.
"Awake now? Perfect—time to eat."
He set the dishes on the table and immediately dug in, spooning and grabbing food at a frantic pace, making Saitama drool.
Even the strongest-willed foodie couldn't resist such an aroma.
After a brief "thanks," Saitama picked up his own utensils and began devouring the food. The moment it entered his mouth, his eyes widened.
"What… what divine taste is this?!"
Japanese cuisine often emphasizes minimal processing, sometimes raw, to preserve the natural flavor. Some processed dishes exist, but flavors aren't as rich.
Han Yu's cooking was a feast for the senses—perfectly balanced color, aroma, and taste. It looked amazing, smelled heavenly, and tasted even better—bite after bite.
Saitama ate with such focus, he barely spoke, fully immersed in the act of eating.
