"Not coming out?" Han Yu drew the long sword hanging at his waist. His black robe moved as if stirred by an unseen wind. He said, "I've noticed someone has been following us for a while now. Their tracking skills are advanced; it took me quite a while to pinpoint the location. It should be right here, yes?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a chill-laden slash of his sword cleaved through a nearby boulder. Fragments flew everywhere—and behind the shattered stone, a figure appeared.
"Truly worthy of being called a hero. Your senses are incredible."
The voice was familiar. A man stepped out from behind the rubble—the same refined-looking man who had called himself Cain in the town earlier that day!
"You're the Demon King, aren't you?" Han Yu raised his long sword, pointing it diagonally at Cain, speaking calmly.
Cain's face bore an innocent expression. He shrugged and said, "What? Didn't I tell you my identity earlier today? I'm just a doctor."
"Heh." Han Yu smiled faintly. Flames and frost surged along the blade of his sword, alternating between pure white and crimson red. "If you were just a normal doctor, could you control your breathing at will? You've slowed your breathing to an almost imperceptible rate just to follow us. That isn't something any doctor could manage."
Cain stared directly at Han Yu. Han Yu returned the gaze, not giving him a chance to speak, and began advancing with his sword.
Even Cain, who already had a rough idea of Han Yu's speed, was shocked. He's hiding his true speed? He's far faster than during the day—at least ten times!
Thinking this, Cain raised both arms. Dark energy surged from his limbs, forming a pair of black armored gauntlets.
A soft clang resounded, blocking Han Yu's strike. Cain smirked. "Still denying you're the Demon King?"
Han Yu leapt backward, activating his "Ability Scan" to analyze Cain. During the day, Lisztad had seen no abnormalities, because this world possessed the "Disguise" skill, which could conceal a person's true attributes. What others saw might only be one percent—or even less—of the actual values.
