Chapter 10 - Laid an Egg, Are You Proud?

When Celia regained consciousness, she only felt refreshed all over.

She stretched her body gently and unconsciously let out a soft whimper like a child, but halfway through, her heart suddenly felt empty, and she suddenly remembered she had forgotten something important.

She hurriedly looked around and found that the thing was being held in her arms.

Celia vaguely remembered that she used to toss and turn in her sleep, always restless, and even a few times she fell to the ground and woke up from the pain.

It was only in the past few years that she got rid of this habit.

What Celia was worried about right now was exactly this matter. If she accidentally dropped the egg on the ground and broke it, that would be a disaster.

At that time, not only would she be heartbroken, but speaking of Ryan alone, he would definitely be so angry that he would be rude to her....

Her eyes felt blurry. She gently moved her arm away from the eggshell and reached out to rub her eyes.

She didn't know when the outside of the window had turned dim.

The light in the room was not turned on, and at this moment, she could only barely see the furnishings in the room.

"Bang bang bang--"

Intermittent explosions came from outside, mixed with the bleating of sheep that seemed to be frightened.

It was probably Ryan practicing magic.

She felt a little confused.

There was no way. From last night to the early morning of today, she was really too tired.

She didn't know what to do now—should she choose to continue sleeping, or get up and call Ryan?

But Ryan had warned her not to get out of bed.

Unable to make a choice, she had no choice but to lie there like that for a while.

Just as drowsiness hit again, the clear sound of leather shoes came from outside the house.

The tightly closed bedroom door was pushed open, and the bright light from the main room poured in instantly. A tall and elegant figure of a man stood at the door, blocking most of the light.

Ryan finally came to find her.

"You're finally awake. You can really sleep."

"What.... Lord Ryan, how long have I been asleep....?"

"The next morning."

"Huh?"

Celia was shocked by this answer and quickly turned her head to look out the window.

Sure enough.

She had felt something was wrong just now—it was already this bright outside.

Ryan took out a set of clothes and casually threw them on the bed.

"Hurry up and put on your clothes. I'll take you home."

Celia instantly perked up. She knelt up, gently placed the egg on her lap, and her heart was pounding with excitement.

Her eyes fell on the clothes thrown at the head of the bed. They looked like a dress mainly in cyan. When elf girls wore it, it symbolized coexistence with the forest.

But it didn't matter. Anyway, she had already worn a dress the day before yesterday when she just turned into a female.

Celia was looking forward to today, and she didn't expect that she would sleep until it arrived.

It was only because today, she could see her family again as the mother of the child.

Whether it was the clan leader, her brother, or her parents, they would definitely praise her, because she had successfully given birth to an heir for the elf clan.

Celia couldn't hide her smile. She crumpled the quilt into a ball, carefully picked up the precious egg on her lap, and placed it in the comfortable middle of the quilt.

"Lord Ryan...." She grabbed the fabric of the clothes on the bed, her cheeks flushing, "Could you go out for a moment?"

"Why, you stupid woman—are you going to stop treating me as your husband once you've had your comfort?"

"Wha-what.... No!"

"Then change directly. Don't mind me."

Ryan crossed his arms over his chest and leaned lazily against the doorframe.

"What.... Change directly?"

Celia's cheeks immediately became hot. She quietly raised her head and looked at him in disbelief.

The light outlined the man's tall and straight silhouette, which exuded a sense of laziness mixed with a bit of nobility. Coupled with his messy black hair and that extremely delicate and pale face,

In Celia's memory, he was a bit like the vampire nobles she had seen before she was alive.

Somehow, she thought he was a bit handsome...

Why didn't she have this feeling yesterday?

"Hurry up. Do you still want to go back?"

"Alright then...."

In front of the mirror, above the slightly fleshy white roots of her thighs was the cyan short dress that symbolized the elf clan. There were no creases on it; instead, it was laid flat and folded diagonally in two layers.

Several layers of white socks were folded around the ankles of her jade-like feet, making her ankles even slimmer.

She still looked small and soft.

Seeing her like this, the man had the urge to pick up this elf and hold her in his arms.

Celia stared at her current appearance. She pressed the skirt with one hand and rubbed her legs in embarrassment—she still wasn't used to this.

Facing the mirror, she reached out and pinched the flesh on her thighs again.

Compared to when she was a boy, her legs were obviously thicker and fleshier.

She felt that she had even become a bit fat....

Would Ryan dislike her.... No!

She shouldn't be paying attention to this point, right!

"Lord Ryan, I think I'm ready."

Celia turned to the man sitting aside and reminded him in a low voice.

"Good. Then pick up the child." Ryan propped his hands on his knees and stood up slowly.

Fingertips brushing the edge of the skirt, Celia looked at the egg placed on the bed, a little hesitant, and said: "Can I really do this? Um... how about you do it, Lord Ryan?"

She didn't feel confident in herself, afraid that she might drop the egg if she wasn't careful.

After all, this was still an egg; the baby hadn't hatched yet, and its surface was very slippery.

Sometimes she could be careless.

"Of course I don't trust a stupid woman like you. I've already taken precautions—just hold it with peace of mind."

"So that's how it is.... Thank you, Lord Ryan."

An hour later--

The sky was bright.

It was already early morning.

On a forest path with fresh air.

Celia held the elf egg in her arms and followed closely behind Ryan step by step.

Before coming here, Ryan had fed her two bowls of soup.

That made her full of energy now, and she guessed the baby inside the egg was also happy.

Along the way, Celia was very happy, and sometimes she even shared a few interesting things with the man beside her.

They walked on like this.

Soon, they passed the familiar rice fields and flower seas.

They arrived at the elf village hidden by sparse jungles. Wooden houses of various sizes stood there. When they passed by, many elves looked towards them.

Just then--

"Celia!"

Celia was walking with her head down. When she heard this familiar boy's voice, her pupils contracted, and she turned her neck stiffly.

It was Carl, her former playmate, waving at her. He had one hand on his hip, a mischievous smile on his lips, and was looking towards her.

Celia felt the warm egg in her arms and glanced at the tall and straight back of the man in front of her.

Understanding what this meant, she couldn't help but blush, and immediately lowered her head in utter embarrassment.

She thought about it—she had turned into a girl and even given birth to a baby for another man.

It seemed like everyone in the village knew about this. Maybe she should feel proud, right...

Yes, that's right.

In fact, there were only 321 elves in the village before, and now it had become 322.

And it was she who gave birth to this new one.

But she still kept her head down along the way. She always felt that she looked awkward like this. After all, weren't most of the 320 people in the village her acquaintances?

And now, she—who used to be a boy—was walking with another man, holding an egg in her arms. It would be strange if this wasn't awkward. Anyway, she couldn't feel proud at all...

But in front of her relatives, she could feel proud.
