Chapter 7 - Contract of the Damned

Aric was blinded. Nothing to see—pure dark right before his eyes. He turned around, but the darkness was so immense to the point where he doubted his body was intact in its place.

The wicked devil's voice grated.

This devil was inside this dark realm. The heavenly realm was broken apart, and the darkness engulfed it. It all depended on the heavenly realm.

Thus, the heavenly realm wasn't actually broken apart to incinerate and then gradually disappear.

The author, when writing about the prince, added a chef's kiss. The prince has royal blood—no matter how weak he is, he still holds his ancestors' power.

Not many royals can stand getting into their crystal core realm. Most of the royals usually lose the power to stand in the realm throughout the generations. Unlike Aric, who already has a devil stored in it. In addition to that, he was able to fly and even play around inside the realm. In the end, meditation was banned for the royals.

By The Watcher.

The results were a bit hard to overcome. At the end of the day, he still stood before the devil, where not only was he himself unable to see, but the devil as well.

The devil screamed out loud with a roaring voice, "Foolish! Have you finally lost your mind?"

"What… what did I do? Wait a minute. Who the heck are you?"

"No wonder you don't know me. Barging into someone else's body and messing up the whole thing—how utterly useless you are, human."

"Huh? Who is the useless one here? You have to have a high-esteem attitude while talking to me. You don't hold power over me—but I do. That's why you're trapped like a helpless dog inside me. Your devil powers are scary? How cute… but not as scary as reality. Besides, you talk about getting into someone else's body stuff, but aren't you the first one who has done it? You're the utterly useless one here."

"This irritating, lousy mouth of yours is quite a deadly one. Now let's get back to the realm we both were in not too long ago… Tell me: where are you? What are you doing? Who are you? Do you even know meditation was banned?"

Woohoo! Meditation is banned… so the novel's prince didn't even know that, or he eventually forgot it. For me to have no info about it in his memories was a bit difficult…

But in the end, it took him a while to respond. How lame it was—it was way easier than I expected.

"Well, at the end of the day, I can guarantee that you won't let me die. What's your plan? Why do you think you can achieve it?"

"You didn't even answer my question. Answer it—or perhaps you don't know it?"

"That's not a way to humble someone, you know. I don't know it, thanks to the most stupid owner of the body who left it to me…"

"Okay, I will explain everything to you, but first I will answer your question as well. I have been seeing you a lot, and you're much more interesting than the original soul. Anyway, my dream is to get out of this body and find my mother—staying by her side until I die."

"You are very unreasonable. How is that even a dream? So you want to take over the body or have your own to live with your mother? Nice one, I guess. We can make a contract, then."

"Why do you need the contract?"

"To meditate."

"That's it? That's it? For almost no reason?"

"Let's say someone without the ability to cultivate, nor the demonic crystals, nor the central crystal, were to meditate. That someone is going to see heaven not once nor twice whenever they meditate. Meditation rewires the brain's prefrontal cortex, enhancing emotional regulation. It lowers cortisol, reducing stress's physical damage. It thickens the gray matter in regions linked to memory and learning. It literally changes your biology. So no, it is not 'for no reason.' In the end, meditation is the key."

"Biologiii… Corti…soil… What the hell are you babbling about? You're sounding even more weird. Anyways… I get what you're coming from."

No, you don't!! How could you… I wish I could see him once.

"I guess it's kinda important to you, so let's make the contract. In order for that to happen, you need to promise me that you will get me out of you… So I can make my dreams come true…"

What dreams? Why are there so many useless shits in this world? He wants me to do him a favor? No way in hell. His dream is to live peacefully with his mother once he is free with his own body. A devil?? I can't believe how this author is artistic. A devil wishing peace… A gun trying to heal. Completely artistic but not logical. That's why I, Aric Throne, will kill his mother in the worst way possible and use him like a tool. Maybe that way he would be useful for once. 'A true saying goes on like this: if you don't control yourself, someone else will do so.'

"Ohhh!!… Yesss…. Definitely. Help me, and I will help you. We both gain what we want. So we are cooperating… ally."

"This contract will naturally happen without you knowing how. So brace yourself. Once you see ink signs on your body, it should be done by that time."

"Thank you for everything. Now tell me about the core and the realm?"

"It starts like this… Your body has a demonic presence that is active and roaming around your crystal core inside you—your one and only life. This is your crystal core. This is like your soul's brain and heart together. But even if you have it so huge and energetic, you could never control it. There isn't anyone who is able to master it while holding demonic energy inside of it. In short, you can't cultivate your crystal. Hope that made it clear."

This is something I already expected. Anyway, an imbecile like him won't understand. The reason why I want meditation isn't for my health issues—it's to fix this damn two-sided core. My core and his demonic core are clashing…

"Certainly, it was perfect info. Thanks. How do I get out of this now?"

"Simply close your eyes. Yes, like that. Now goodbye."

As soon as I closed my eyes, I imperceptibly saw a light piercing through my vision.

It was almost getting late. How did I wake up in the morning?
