Leaving Hell's Kitchen, Spider-Man headed home, clutching the whiskey Batman had given him. His head was swimming, and his face was lit with happiness.
He still couldn't believe he'd had a close encounter with his idol and received a gift from him!
"Peter, why are you home so late?"
When Spider-Man opened the door, he saw his Uncle Ben Parker sitting upright in the living room, looking at him with a serious expression. His gaze immediately locked onto the whiskey in his hand, and his face suddenly changed.
Ben Parker recognized the bottle.
As an average American, Ben Parker wasn't rich, but he wasn't unfamiliar with alcohol.
He recognized it instantly: a very, very niche whiskey, a Scotch Old Malt Cask Laphroaig 17 Year Old (distilled in 1987).
The same Old Malt Cask 17 Year Old Laphroaig was already extinct on the market.
The bottle in Peter's hands was clearly the real deal.
How could such a rare and expensive liquor end up in his nephew's possession?
"Peter, what did you do?"
Ben Parker stared at Spider-Man, his expression serious. "Where did you get that bottle?"
"Uh, I…"
Peter stammered, racking his brain, but his mind was blank.
What they didn't know was that Peter's experiences in Hell's Kitchen had altered fate.
In the original timeline, Ben Parker should have been dead today, shot and killed!
A butterfly in the Amazon rainforest in South America flapped its wings, and two weeks later, it could cause a tornado in Texas, USA.
This is called the butterfly effect.
After parting ways with Matt and the others, Anton reverted to his original appearance and walked out of Hell's Kitchen with Eddie.
They saw Winston waiting for them on the outskirts of Hell's Kitchen.
"We've taken care of Kingpin's goons, and Hell's Kitchen is ours."
Seeing the two of them, Winston couldn't help but smile triumphantly.
The entire perimeter of Hell's Kitchen showed signs of being washed over by a flood, but traces of blood still remained in the corners, and there were even obvious, fresh bullet marks on the walls.
Obviously, there had been a fierce gunfight here.
"If you need anything in the future, please contact us anytime. We will do our best."
Winston paused, then added, "Given the perfect outcome of this cooperation, you will always be honored guests of the High Table and the Continental Hotel."
"Swear by the blood oath?" Anton asked with a smile.
"Swear by the blood oath!" Winston restrained his smile and spoke solemnly.
"For the sake of this pleasant cooperation, I'll give you a reminder," Anton continued. "Daredevil is a native of Hell's Kitchen. He doesn't want this place to be as chaotic as before. The High Table is an organization that values rules above all else. As long as you can implement your rules in Hell's Kitchen, he won't do anything to you."
"Thank you."
Winston nodded, knowing this was Anton, speaking as Batman, advising the High Table.
After speaking, Anton and Eddie waved goodbye.
The two returned to the Daily Bugle.
"We need a new headline for tomorrow."
Eddie looked at Anton with a smile, waving the camera in his hand. "Daredevil, Venom, Batman, and that Spider-Man… Kingpin didn't stand a chance."
He didn't mention Coulson and the others who had tried Kingpin, because secret organizations like that wouldn't be reported on.
This time was no exception.
"You're right."
Anton nodded, smiling. "People will be happy to see the Big Apple become a better place."
The next day.
[Kingpin Arrested! Underworld Empire Annihilated! Four Heroes Unite to Clear Out Hell's Kitchen!]
The newspaper's front page was dominated by a full-color photograph, taking up half the space.
Daredevil! Batman! Venom!
And a skinny, somewhat underwhelming Spider-Man!
The first two were familiar faces. Batman needed no introduction, currently the most famous vigilante, or rather, superhero, in America.
Daredevil's reputation wasn't exactly small either, especially within Hell's Kitchen, where he was even more well-known and intimidating than Batman.
Venom had been outed by online sleuths. He'd previously appeared at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, battling another monster, and then teamed up with Batman to take down Drake's monster form.
Everyone had initially assumed he was a villain, but now they knew he was Batman's buddy.
Counting the times, Venom and Batman have already joined forces twice.
The first time was to capture the monster that Drake had become, and the second time was to deal with Kingpin, the creator of a black market empire.
The results were outstanding.
Finally, next to a few tough guys, was that weak Spider-Man.
A simple red mask, a hoodie with a spider pattern, and a pair of loose sweatpants.
If it weren't for the newspaper mentioning that Spider-Man had put in a great effort in Batman's arrest of Kingpin, people would have thought this guy was just a lucky guy who was rescued along the way by the three heroes.
"Spider-Man?"
"He looks like the high school student next door, what abilities does he have?"
"Could it be that he can spin webs like a spider, or climb on walls? Sounds not cool at all!"
Midtown High School.
Peter Parker's senses had become incredibly sharp after being enhanced by the spider, and his Spider-Sense could even be called a sixth sense. Naturally, he could hear the discussions around him.
He gritted his teeth, feeling displeased.
The Daily Bugle regarded Spider-Man as a superhero, which made him proud of himself, but the disdain of his classmates made him want to do something.
"You don't seem happy?"
Suddenly, a sweet voice came.
He turned his head and saw Gwen Stacy, Midtown High's goddess, a blonde beauty who was the most universally admired and popular.
It was worth mentioning that her father was the New York City Police Department Commissioner, George Stacy.
This made many people at school wary of provoking him.
"You like Spider-Man?"
Gwen was a smart girl; she could tell that Peter was a little resistant to the conversation happening nearby.
"Yes." Peter nodded, his face turning red.
Gwen smiled. "Actually, I like him too. Spider-Man seems to be about our age, but he can be a helper for Batman. I think he's very brave."
"Really?"
Peter's eyes immediately lit up.
From that moment on, he was really ready to do something to change his life.
The correction of fate is powerful.
Even though Ben Parker escaped being shot, Spider-Man still found meaning in his life.
From "With great power comes great responsibility" to a pursuit of courage.
Different from the original plot, Spider-Man's fate would become seemingly even better than before.
Daily Bugle.
"Today's paper is selling like crazy, and the entire New York is running out of them, Anton. The Daily Bugle will reach new heights under our leadership."
Eddie's face was full of pride.
At this moment, J. Jonah Jameson was in Hawaii, embracing a young and beautiful blonde woman.
Upon hearing the news from New York, he smiled.
Jameson, of course, wouldn't miss out on Anton's current situation.
Kingpin's forces were vast, and he had been quite worried when he learned that Anton had confronted Kingpin.
But seeing this outcome, he knew he had made the right choice.
Anton was his most satisfactory successor.
Then, he looked not far away, at the former New York assassin, John Wick, embracing his wife Helen, enjoying the sea breeze, and looking equally happy.
Except for that son still drifting in space, Jameson thought his current life was perfect.
On the other side, Anton was also satisfied, not only because the Daily Bugle had taken a step forward, but also because of the system notification.
[Arrest Kingpin, reward 6 million Justice Points] [Justice Points Balance: 12 million]
This meant he could exchange for a more powerful Batman armor.
Of course, he still had to save up for now.
He was still a long way from those armors he desired the most!
