That's how it was. At noon the next day, after everything was ready, Meng Ran and Thor came to an open space to prepare to depart.
"Ready?" Thor asked the Evil Ghost beside him.
Meng Ran nodded as well. Thor then gently reminded him, "Because there hasn't been any similar experience before, you might not be used to using the Rainbow Bridge for the first time."
"But I believe that with your physique, there shouldn't be too much of an impact. You'll get used to it after a few more transmissions."
"Understood, don't worry, I'm fine." Meng Ran nodded in response to Thor's kind reminder.
Next, Thor looked up at the sky and shouted loudly, "Heimdall! Can you see me? Use the Rainbow Bridge to take us to Asgard, we need to go to Nidavellir!"
After the shout, the quiet air indicated that Heimdall hadn't seemed to hear Thor's request.
Thor was helpless in this situation. He could only continue to look up and shout with all his might, repeating what he had just said.
Finally, after Thor called out for the third time, a violent ripple suddenly surged through the air. A dazzling light descended from the sky, enveloping Meng Ran and Thor, who were standing on the ground.
It was also Meng Ran's first time experiencing the power of the Rainbow Bridge's teleportation. He only felt an intense suction force emanating from the dazzling white light, which then pulled them both into the air.
Subsequently, a shimmering, rainbow-colored space tunnel appeared in the cosmos.
Inside this space tunnel, the scenery and starry sky on either side moved past Meng Ran and Thor like a mural, reminding them that they were constantly traversing space, crossing this vast distance.
Finally, after a moment, Meng Ran felt the suction force in front of him gradually weaken.
Not long after, with the suction completely disappearing, Meng Ran and Thor emerged from the retreating light, arriving in a resplendent hall. This was the Rainbow Bridge departure point in Asgard.
At this moment, a man with brown skin and strange white light shimmering in his eyes was leaning on a large sword embedded in the central instrument, quietly watching Thor and Meng Ran, who had just walked out of the rainbow passage.
"Hey, Heimdall, long time no see." Thor greeted him happily upon seeing Heimdall.
Heimdall still had that expressionless look on his face. After hearing Thor's words, he just said lightly, "It hasn't been long, just yesterday."
Hearing this, Thor didn't feel embarrassed. He just laughed heartily and then pointed at Meng Ran beside him, continuing to introduce him, "This is the Evil Ghost, a famous superhero from Midgard, and also a friend of mine."
"I called you this time because I want you to send us to Nidavellir. I have some things to discuss with Trick."
Meng Ran and Heimdall nodded slightly after Thor's introduction, acknowledging each other.
After the introduction, Heimdall looked at Thor thoughtfully and said, "I thought you wouldn't be back for a while after you left yesterday."
Hearing Heimdall's words, Thor scratched his head a little awkwardly and laughed, "It's because I suddenly have something to do. I didn't expect to be back so soon."
Hearing Thor's answer, Heimdall didn't say anything.
He just put his hands on his sword, took a deep look at Thor, and then continued, "So, you're just passing through? Not going to see the King?"
Thor nodded when he heard this, then replied, "I only just spoke with Father yesterday, so I'm just passing through today. I won't be going in."
Heimdall didn't say anything further after hearing Thor's response. He simply returned to the console and inserted the greatsword in his hand into the central device.
Seeing this, Thor pulled Meng Ran to his side and prepared for another teleportation.
Seeing that they were ready, the two didn't waste any time. They thrust the greatsword in their hands forcefully into the device below, then grasped the hilt and began to turn it.
As Heimdall rotated the hilt, a burst of intense white light, just like before, enveloped Thor and Meng Ran, carrying them towards the distant dwarf realm of Nidavellir.
After one teleportation, Meng Ran, now within the white light, was no longer surprised by this magical situation. He was now focused on Heimdall's expression and demeanor just moments before.
He hadn't spoken earlier, but had been observing Heimdall as he spoke with Thor.
From Heimdall's reaction, Meng Ran knew that Heimdall must already know some clues about Loki impersonating Odin.
Although he knew, he couldn't be certain, nor could he say it outright. After all, Thor had already left Asgard, and the current king of Asgard still seemed to be the real deal.
This situation also made it impossible for Heimdall to clearly tell Thor what he knew.
Although it was unknown how he had learned of this clue, it was likely related to his magical eyes.
Heimdall's eyes could see through the Nine Realms, observing every corner and aspect of them. Presumably, it was through this ability that he had found some clues about Loki impersonating Odin.
Just as Thor and Meng Ran left Asgard for Nidavellir, Loki, who had been observing them in the central Celestial Palace of Asgard, breathed a sigh of relief after seeing them leave.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness I didn't replace Heimdall."
"It seems I can't find a reason to replace Heimdall before Thor returns."
Loki had originally planned to find a reason to replace Heimdall after Thor left, and then find someone obedient enough to take his place.
There were two reasons for this. The first was a more common one: he and Heimdall had always been at odds, so of course he preferred to have someone who listened to him in charge of such an important position as guarding the Rainbow Bridge.
The other reason concerned his interests as king. Because Heimdall's abilities were somewhat tricky, Loki decided to replace him to avoid the hidden danger of being detected. He wanted to eliminate this hidden danger at its inception.
Unfortunately, he hadn't had time to implement this plan before Thor returned to Asgard with that Evil Ghost.
Even though it was just a brief visit, it still made Loki feel uneasy.
After today's events, Loki had decided to keep Heimdall's position until Thor passed through Asgard again on his way back to Earth. This way, he could be prepared for anything.
At the same time, Meng Ran and Thor, who were riding the Rainbow Bridge, had already arrived at their destination: the Dwarven Kingdom, Nidavellir.
