Lila's POV
In a moment of uncertainty, I asked Cole, "Who is Jade?" His shock mirrored my own, and confusion swirled around us. "Did I just say Jade?" he replied. "I should be asking you, Cole, who is Jade?"
"Please, can we not do this right now? I'm late for a meeting," he urged, but I needed clarity. "You have to tell me who Jade is. Are they the ones causing the confusion between us, Cole? I need to know."
With frustration, Cole pushed me away. "I told you to leave this for another time, but you won't listen. Why are you so stubborn?"
"I am not stubborn, Cole. I just want to understand who Jade is, that's all."
"Okay, fine. Jade is just a friend. Are you satisfied now?" He walked away, leaving my doubts lingering. As I called after him, "Cole," fear gripped me.
Holly stood by, equally perplexed. "Holly, do you know who Jade is?" I asked. "No, I don't, but I will find out."
"Thanks, Holly. You are such a good friend." Retreating to my room, I began to ponder deeply on the matter.
Who is Jade? Could they be a friend, brother, or something more? I had so many questions—what did it all mean?
As I drifted off, thoughts of Jade danced in my mind until I fell asleep, entering a dreamlike state. I found myself in an abandoned house, where two children played without noticing my presence.
It felt as though I were invisible, yet I clearly heard one of the kids call out, "Jade, wait up!" Another urged, "Hurry up; you're too slow for a werewolf, little Jade!"
"Really Jade, just wait and see how fast I'll be when I grow up!"
"Silly you, why not put more effort into yourself now? Why wait until you grow up?" Their laughter filled the air before a woman's voice called out, "Kids, it's time for dinner."
As they ran inside, I felt compelled to follow, but then someone whispered my name, "Lila, wake up, can you hear me?"
Sweating heavily, I jolted awake to find Holly beside me. "Lila, I have good information for you. I think I know who Jade might be."
I sprang up, urgency cours
