After her battle with the 3 Mice the baby dragon made her way back to her cave, her body hurt all over and she was getting tired from the constant fighting and being awake for hours on end. Making sure she stayed hidden the dragon slunk through the shadows until arriving at her cave. Once back she drank some water from the pond and selected a flat bit of ground before curling into a ball and drifting off to sleep.
---
Outside of the cave the Dire Mice were having a crisis, they had thought that this area was safe from dangerous predators. After all the mana density in this section of the forest is quite low so they hoped they could stay here and live a quiet life slowly growing stronger. But something was hunting them.
The leader of the Dire Mice was a rare sub-species that increased its intelligence allowing it to think and plan. Perhaps due to this it had been blessed by the system to participate in the Champion Beast Protocol, with the promise of greater strength the Dire Mouse Alpha known as Monty decided to pull his remaining members together and went out on his own to hunt down this foe.
---
Some hours later our baby dragon was awoken from her slumber by a sudden feeling of danger. Bolting awake she looked around in the dim light of evening and located the source of danger. There stood at the mouth of her cave was a Dire Mouse, but it was unlike any she had seen before it was easily 2ft in length with its upper limbs ending in claws instead of the club like limbs of its lesser brethren. As they stared at each other the Mouse let loose its battle cry shortly followed by the dragons own.
SQUUUUEEEKK!
SCREEE
At their cry's the mouse charged whilst the dragon lowered herself into a pounce. Building up all the mana she could into her legs she waited till they were less than a metre apart before letting loose and bolted towards the mouse.
CRASH! BOOM!
They collided in the air with a resounding thud, the dragons claws instantly began digging into its side whilst the mouse's own claws managed to break some of her scales and drew blood.
They separated after this first exchange with both of them slightly injured. Circling one another it was the dragon that moved first, taking a step forward she halted and swiftly rotated her body to send her tail rushing towards the mouse.
SLAP!
The impact staggered the mouse causing it to momentarily loose its footing. Not wasting this chance she darted her head forward with the intention to bite, seeing this the mouse managed to react by bringing up one of its clawed limbs. She managed to bite a chunk out of the mouse's side but received a vicious cut to her face in return. Feeling the bloodlust rise the dragon didn't step back but fully committed to her attack.
Going in for another bite she joined this by raising up on her hind legs to allow her front legs to claw at the belly of the mouse tearing deep cuts into it. Her maw meanwhile managed to grab one of the clawed limbs and with a vicious shake of the head the limb was ripped from the body.
SKREEECH
The bellow of pain from the mouse signaled the beginning of the end for it. Now gravely injured its movements were halting and its aggression was beginning to be replaced with fear. Sensing this shift in mood the dragon capitalised and continued her assult.
SLASH, SCREEE, RRIPPPP!
The slashing and tearing of flesh was the symphony for the mouse's demise and slowly but surely the dragon shut down her foe. She stared by tearing the other clawed limb off and then battered into the larger monster.
After a short but brutal battle the mouse was unable to hold on any longer and collapsed to the ground finally defeated. Panting the dragon glanced at her health.

The Infant dragon was both ecstatic and exhausted after that battle but one thing caught her attention. 'The Mouse had a name?' How is it possible that a lowly mouse could somehow have a name when a majestic dragon such as she didn't have one! This was unacceptable.
But how did one get a name? Did she need to find someone to name her? No that was ridiculous who had the right to name her but herself? That's right she would just have to come up with a name for herself !
But what should she name herself? And what made a good name? These questions weighed heavily on the young dragon and she pondered it whilst snacking on her fallen foe.
'Well I enjoy eating and fighting so should I name myself after one of those?' After some thought she shook her head, no that would be stupid. Thinking back on her life's experiences so far she remembered her egg and the vivid colours that it gave off, then remembering her eyes a name suddenly came to mind. Violet, I shall be called Violet from this day onwards! Happy with herself the newly named Violet finished off her meal and lay back down to resume her sleep and recover from her wounds.

Violet was awoken to the sunlight streaming through the cave entrance and the sounds of birds calls. 'Urgh why does everything hurt?' Then remembering why she felt a little stupid, 'oh everything hurts because I got hurt in that fight last night'. Yeah that would make sense.
Slowly getting to her feet Violet staggered over the the remains of the Alpha Dire Mouse corpse and quickly devoured the rest of it humming happily to herself all the while. Yep she thought to herself, the stronger the foe the tastier it is to eat!
After polishing off the last of the corpse she made her way over to the pond to drink her fill before stretching out like a cat. Slowly making her way to the cave entrance she looked out at the surroundings. Supprisingly there was not a single Dire Mouse in the visable area. Hmm maybe after I killed the Alpha the rest ran away? Tch that's anoying they were quite tasty. Although they were getting to be quite weak for me so maybe it's a good sign and I can find some better prey!
Instantly finding this option to be quite appealing Violet happily pranced out of the cave to begin her second day of hunting.

Kingdom of Eldor
Within the Kings palace a meeting was being held by some of the top generals and other key figures from within his kingdom, including the king himself and one of his most trusted advisors and chief dragon tamer Ralph.
The King spoke first. "So a wild dragon has been born and a new age has begun hu." He sneered, "what a load of crap! We are the greatest kingdom on this continent and a single measly dragon won't bring us to heel!" He growled out.
"We can begin to send scouting missions out into the Endless Forest my lord? We have already begun to hear tales of increased monster activity from the towns bordering the forest so perhaps the talk of a Champion might be worth putting some thought onto the matter." One of the generals reported.
Stroking his beard he nodded at that, "true whilst I refuse to allow any challenges to my kingdom it would be unwise to rush to any conclusions. Send out the scouts. And place a quest to the adventures guild to scout the forest for any unusual activities. I want to know the instant anything is uncovered!"
receiving a round of agreement the King turned to Ralph. "How about the dragons has their been any change in their behaviour?"
Ralph grimaced at this before nodding. "Yes sir it seems to be limited to the more intelligent beasts and the ones that haven't been fully tamed yet. However," he paused for a moment before continuing, "Around the time that the vision was received all of the troublesome dragons were reported to stare in the same direction, towards the Endless forest." Then his mood soured even further. "We also lost one of the more promising young dragons, a young blue escaped the training grounds and flew off in the direction of the forest."
Hearing this the King looked furious and slammed his palm down on the table. "You lost a dragon!" He bellowed! "We haven't lost a dragon in 50 years and now of all times you loose one! Incompetent!"
Later that day hundreds of imperial scouts and as many adventures began their journey to scout out the Endless Forest.
