Took a while to write this chapter; I've been reading some Steven Universe fanfic about an SI gem, sometimes Diamond. Because of that, I wanted to make an oc diamond; idk if I ever post it, but who knows
Tho when this hits 50 chapters, I promise to rewrite my high school dxd fanfic and make it better
And I don't know how to write a sword fight, so mb if its not good

The shape developed from the grip outward. A straight crossguard appeared first.
Then a long blade of compressed hardlight formed beyond it, its edges glowing brighter as the Omni-Tool concentrated more projection energy into the cutting surfaces.
Engineer looked at it and had only one thought going through her mind: "Ohh, I think I'm wet now"
The Omni-Tool created artificial resistance through the handle so the weapon behaved more like solid matter despite being composed almost entirely of projected energy.
Engineer muttered to herself, "Fine, but mine sounds more expensive." The System scanned her creation.
[Hardlight Longsword Construct Detected.]
[Projected Edge Density: Extreme.]
[Emitter Consumption Within Acceptable Combat Parameters.]
[Cyber Joint Penetration Probability: High.]
[Direct Torso Penetration Probability: Moderate.]
That was enough. The Engineer stood.
Before Shaw could stop her, the Engineer launched herself from behind cover with considerably more speed than she expected. Her first several steps crossed the battlefield so quickly that she nearly overcorrected, but her increased Dexterity allowed her body to recover before the mistake became visible.
The nearest Cyberman rotated toward her while raising its weapon across its armored chest. The Engineer saw the movement developing early enough to shift sideways before the energy blast crossed through the position she had occupied.
She entered the Cyberman's reach before its targeting systems completed another correction. Instead of slowing down, she planted her forward foot against the concrete and swung the hardlight blade with nearly all the momentum her increased Strength could produce safely.
The glowing edge struck the narrow armored connection beneath the Cyberman's helmet before passing completely through the mechanical joint. Its head separated cleanly from the armored shoulders while sparks erupted beneath the severed connection, and the body remained standing for several confused seconds before collapsing heavily across the concrete.
She didn't stop; she couldn't stop this feeling, which is 90% sure some kinda adrenaline rush; the 10% is cause she doesn't remember adrenaline rushes making someone feel happy to hurt people
The Engineer continued moving before the first machine finished falling.
A second Cyberman attempted to track her, which she, not going to lie, didn't even know they could do; kinda scary, like some Warhammer-type space marines
She changed direction again.
Her boots scraped across the floor while the Omni-Tool highlighted every exposed seam around the Cyberman's body.
Neck connection.
Elbow joint, Knee assembly, Chest plating, Internal core location.
Engineer chose the neck JUST CAUSE IT LOOKS COOL
She planted one foot beside the machine, rotated through her hips, and brought the hardlight longsword across with both hands.
The glowing edge struck beneath the Cyberman's helmet. The reinforced joint resisted for less than a second, which showed how much work she needed done on her light Construct. Hopefully, one day it would be like a Green Lantern ring… wait, the Doctor leaves his TARDIS a lot in the 2000s; maybe I can break in somehow and steal one of his backup sonic screwdrivers and take that apart, anywhere the blade passed completely through.
Then she smiled. "That worked considerably better than expected."
Her Chrono-Perception flickered on, warning her before the weapon finished moving. Hostile movement behind her current position. Engineer turned just in time to see a metal fist cross toward her head. She ducked beneath it.
Her increased Dexterity let her pivot almost immediately, and the Cyberman's momentum carried its torso farther forward than it could comfortably recover. Ah, slow assholes
Engineer drove the sword upward. The hardlight blade punched through the armor beneath the center of its chest. Not taking the chance with the cybermen she target it main core just to end it this faster, The Omni-Tool displayed the machine's core directly in front of her.
She pushed harder. Her new Strength mattered; now, she would say, she was a good 3x stronger; plus, as a Time Lord, she was 6x stronger than a normal human
The blade pierced the remaining armor and entered the Cyberman's central power assembly.
The Engineer pulled the blade free before the Cyberman collapsed onto the floor beside her.
[Cyber Unit Defeated.]
[Experience Awarded.]
[315% Experience Modifier Applied.]
Sergeant Okafor stared from behind cover.
"Engineer!"
She looked toward him. Another Cyberman was already approaching from her right.
The Engineer stepped backward while raising the sword into a proper two-handed guard. "Thank you for the warning."
The Cyberman fired. She didn't try blocking the beam; she wasn't on a level of a Jedi yet. She had already learned that particular lesson.
attacked from her right side while bringing one armored fist toward her head. She dropped beneath the strike, drove her shoulder into the machine's torso with enough force to knock its balance backward, and immediately turned the sword downward between both hands.
The hardlight blade punched directly through the damaged chest plating where her Omni-Tool had already identified the internal power core. Orange light disappeared several inches inside the Cyberman's torso before she twisted the weapon through the machinery and ripped the blade free.
Electrical arcs flashed beneath the broken armor before the Cyberman's entire body lost power. The machine collapsed onto its knees while the Engineer stepped around it and immediately brought the sword across the neck connection.
The second head separated from the armored body before the machine finished falling.
Several UNIT soldiers momentarily stopped firing while watching her move through the first two Cybermen. Sergeant Okafor recovered first and immediately redirected his weapon toward another machine approaching from the damaged tunnel.
The Engineer looked toward her glowing sword while excitement started replacing the irritation that had followed her throughout the battle. She could already feel how differently the weapon responded whenever her increased Strength moved through the artificial resistance programmed into the grip.
Rounds hammered against the Cyberman's shoulder. Now I'm thinking of it: doesn't UNIT have some kind of energy weapons, or maybe they don't even have enough part/tech to mass-produce them
My omni-tool doesn't count cause im a time lord in training; I still have some common sense…even when I don't like it
Its targeting shifted toward UNIT. That gave her the perfect opening; was it wrong to use your ally as bait? Probably, but her time lord mind saw it as good use for the w̵̪̞̗͈̝͍̬͒̋̈̓̂õ̵̝̗͕̞̲̮̯͛̽͋̀̆̀̈t̴̛̪̖͖̗̟̲̮̹̓̐͂͌̈́̕h̸̻̠̲͕̬̋̀͛̿͗̇̌̚ͅl̴̨͌̅́ę̴̛̼̩̫͖̠̂̓̓̓͋͊̀s̴̗̫̎͆̋̌̒̓͂s̸͙͈̭̳͔͍̐́̓̚̕ ̴̩̘̦͇̥͕̌́́̈̓̚a̸̧̖̬̟͉̞̪͠p̶̞̂͊̊̌̈́̈̕̕e̴̳͓̍̓̍̈́̕s̵͙̬̗̟̺̠͑ instead of just wasting bullets
Engineer entered its reach and brought the sword diagonally upward. The hardlight edge cut through the weapon arm near the elbow connection AH cheap produce piece of shit
The Cyberman's arm separated and dropped onto the floor while the machine immediately attempted to strike her with the other hand.
Engineer stepped into the movement. Her shoulder nearly touched the Cyberman's chest. She then reversed her grip slightly and drove the blade directly forward.
The point entered beneath the Cyberman's chest plate. The cyborg tried to force her backward. Previously, that would have worked on her, but now her Strength held
Engineer planted both feet and pushed harder. The hardlight sword penetrated deeper until her Omni-Tool confirmed contact with the central core.
Sheesh, no wonder the Cybermen empire built custom cyber to fight me
The Cyberman froze. Its blue optics dimmed. Engineer pulled the blade free and stepped aside while the machine collapsed forward.
The remaining Cybermen adjusted almost immediately, because none of them were stupid enough to continue approaching individually after watching two units get dismantled. Five machines moved closer together while their targeting systems exchanged information, and the Engineer watched them reorganize into a formation designed to prevent her from reaching one unit without entering another Cyberman's firing angle.
She slowed several meters away while her Omni-Tool analyzed their positioning. The machines had placed three Cybermen forward while two remained behind them, creating overlapping firing lanes that prevented her from simply rushing toward a vulnerable joint.
The Engineer smiled despite herself because apparently the Cybermen had decided to treat her like a genuine melee threat now. Something about that realization appealed directly to the reckless part of her brain that had always considered explosions acceptable punctuation.
"UNIT, shoot whichever Cyberman looks like it hates me the least."
Commander Shaw understood the request considerably faster than she expected. He immediately ordered concentrated fire against the Cyberman positioned along the formation's left side, forcing the machine to rotate its weapon away from her.
The Engineer moved before the other units could fully compensate.
She sprinted directly toward the center Cyberman while two weapons immediately tracked her approach. One blast crossed behind her after she changed direction sharply, while the second struck the hardlight barrier she briefly projected from the sword's crossguard.
The impact slammed through her arms and nearly ruined her footing, but her new Strength prevented the weapon from being knocked away. She dismissed the barrier immediately and continued forward before the Cyberman could fire again.
The center machine swung one armored arm toward her ribs.
The Engineer caught the movement with both hands on the sword and struck downward against the Cyberman's forearm. The hardlight edge tore through the weaker elbow connection before the mechanical limb dropped onto the floor beside them.
She immediately stepped closer rather than retreating.
Her shoulder slammed into the Cyberman's chest with enough force to knock the machine backward into the unit behind it. Both Cybermen collided while their formation temporarily compressed around the impact.
The Engineer used the opening without hesitation.
She turned her hips, brought the glowing sword around through a wide horizontal strike, and cut through the exposed neck connection of the first Cyberman. The blade continued through the movement before striking the second machine across the upper shoulder and carving deeply into the armored joint.
The damaged Cyberman attempted to grab her with its remaining arm.
The Engineer stepped inside the reach, planted one boot against the machine's knee, and used her increased Strength to force the heavier body backward. She drove the sword straight into the center of its chest while the Omni-Tool highlighted the location of its internal reactor.
The hardlight weapon punched through the weakened armor before reaching the power system beneath it. The Cyberman's optical lights flickered several times before disappearing completely while the Engineer shoved the inactive body away from her blade.
Another Cyberman fired before she could fully recover.
The blast struck the edge of her temporary shield and threw her several steps sideways. Pain ran through her shoulder while the System immediately warned her that increased stats still did not make her invulnerable.
The Engineer gritted her teeth before tightening her grip around the sword again. She looked toward the attacking Cyberman with a considerably less playful expression.
"That was extremely rude, and now you have personally annoyed me, mortal…well, half mortal I guess." The Cyberman raised its weapon for another shot.
The Engineer charged directly toward it.
The Cyberman fired.
She twisted sideways while the beam passed close enough that heat rolled across her coat, then slammed the flat side of the hardlight blade against the weapon arm before the machine could realign.
The impact forced the barrel toward the ceiling.
The Engineer seized the armored forearm with her free hand and pulled with nearly all her new Strength. The Cyberman stumbled forward several steps because its systems had not expected something her size to move it that easily.
The hardlight blade separated the helmet from the torso while sparks scattered across the surrounding armor. She immediately caught the collapsing body with one hand, turned with its momentum, and shoved the heavy Cyberman directly into another machine approaching from behind.
Both machines hit the floor together.
The Engineer followed them immediately.
She planted one boot against the upper Cyberman's chest while driving the sword downward through its central armor seam. The blade entered the machine's internal core, and the entire Cyberman went motionless before it could push the inactive body away.
The second Cyberman underneath began lifting both machines through raw mechanical strength.
The Engineer pulled the blade free, stepped sideways, and let the upper body roll away. The remaining Cyberman started rising while reaching toward her ankle.
She kicked the machine across the helmet with enough force to throw its head sideways before striking again with both hands around the sword. The blade crossed the neck connection while the Cyberman remained halfway upright, and the separated head rolled across the floor while the body collapsed backward.
The Engineer exhaled heavily while her System displayed increasing physical exertion warnings. Her stats might have become absurd compared with several minutes earlier, but her actual combat experience remained limited, and every aggressive movement demanded concentration she was not accustomed to maintaining.
Three more Cybermen entered from the access tunnel before she could recover properly.
They immediately opened fire.
