Amanda
I found my legs carrying me through the forest in the dark, only partially lit by the moon. Thorns, shrubs, and sticks scraped my skin, but I didn't stop.
I didn't know why I ran so desperately, but one thing was sure: I had a promise to keep, and I wouldn't let it down, even though every limb was screaming. I kept going.
My vision blurred with exhaustion and everything that had happened, but I pushed forward until I finally came out of the forest. Just like he described, a road stretched before me. I took the path he had told me about and soon reached a white building exactly as he had said.
I stopped at a distance when I saw two guards standing in front. My breath came in short, harsh gasps, my legs buckled, and then I dropped to the ground, wrapping my arms around my chest.
"Please… hel… help me."
I don't know if the two guards looked my way before everything blurred.
