Just when everyone thought it was over, the calm sea surface in the distance suddenly exploded. SPLASH! Charlotte Linlin's figure shot out of the water. She was soaking wet, her pink hair plastered to her face, and she had a few new bruises. But her face showed no sign of defeat. Instead, it was filled with an unprecedented, almost crazed excitement.
"Wahahahaha! Awesome! That was so awesome!" she laughed, her voice full of satisfaction and joy. "It's been so long... so long since anyone has been able to hit me that hard!"
Her huge eyes were fixed on Rocks. The look was no longer one of greed and possession, but something more fiery, more pure—it was the admiration of meeting a worthy opponent, the ecstasy of discovering a new and fascinating toy. Although the seawater made her weak, she relied on the re-formed cloud to lift her body out. She flew quickly back to the ship and landed heavily on the deck, making the whole vessel rock violently again.
She no longer took a fighting stance. Instead, she casually tossed her recovered spiked club onto the deck. Then, with her hands on her hips, she puffed out her impressive chest and, in an unquestionable tone, like a queen declaring her sovereignty, she said loudly to Rocks, "Hey! Rocks!"
Rocks raised an eyebrow, looking at this woman whose attitude had changed so drastically, wondering what she was up to.
"You're strong! The strongest man I've ever met!" A strange flush appeared on Charlotte Linlin's face. It was the flush of extreme excitement. "Be my man!"
"Huh?"
This earth-shattering statement petrified everyone on deck, including Rocks and Newgate. Gatz's jaw literally dislocated with a click. Dolum's eyes rolled back; he felt his fragile heart was about to give out. Silver's hand, which was polishing his spear, also froze. For the first time, a crack appeared on his eternally icy face. Even the fearless Newgate was so shocked by this sudden development that he choked on his drink and began to cough violently. "Cough, cough... Gurarara... this little girl... did she get her brain scrambled?"
The corners of Rocks's mouth twitched uncontrollably. He looked at this woman, who was a head taller than him and was proposing to him with a look of utter entitlement, and felt that his worldview had just been hit by an unprecedented shockwave.
Charlotte Linlin didn't seem to notice everyone's ghost-like expressions. She continued on her own, "You be my man, and with the two of us together, who on this sea can stand against us? We can have the world's strongest children! Create a nation of all races..."
"Stop!" Rocks finally snapped out of his shock. He raised a hand to interrupt Linlin's grand, runaway blueprint. "I'm not interested in having children." Rocks's expression returned to calm, but his eyes were a little strange. "And, I'm not interested in women of your body type."
Being directly rejected, Linlin was stunned for a moment, then, as if she had thought of something, she slapped her forehead. "Ah! That's right!" She nodded in understanding, and then, in an even more entitled tone, she said something that made everyone even more devastated. "Then let's do it another way!"
She pointed at Rocks, grinned, and a smile that was both innocent and domineering appeared on her face. "I've decided! From today on, I'm joining your pirate crew!"
At these words, Dolum's vision went black, and he fainted dead away. The ship... is going to sink... was his last thought before losing consciousness.
Charlotte Linlin wanted to join the Rocks Pirates. This news was more terrifying than the White Squall itself. It was like a bolt of lightning that struck everyone still conscious on the deck, leaving them all charred and stunned.
"Are... are you kidding me!" Gatz was the first to jump up. He pointed at Linlin and stammered, "You just tried to kill us and steal our ship, and now you want to join us? Did the captain punch your brain loose?"
"That's right! He did!" Linlin replied matter-of-factly. She patted her magnificent chest and said loudly, "I've never been beaten so satisfyingly in my entire life! I'm sticking with this man!" The way she looked at Rocks was like a giant dragon that had discovered a huge treasure, filled with a possessive desire to claim it.
"No! Absolutely not!" Dolum, who had just been revived by Silver, crawled over, hugged Rocks's leg, and began to wail. "Captain! Have mercy! The ship already has you and Lord Newgate, two monsters. This little wreck is on the verge of collapse every single day! If another one of this level comes aboard... it will really sink! I'm begging you!"
The shipwright's cries were heartbreaking.
Newgate was watching the farce with great interest, holding his wine barrel. He shook the miniaturized Zeus and Prometheus in his hand and said to Rocks with a smile, "Gurararara! Rocks, looks like you've gotten yourself into some big trouble. But, this little girl's strength is indeed impressive. If she joins, our overall strength will rise to another level." He kicked the ball to Rocks. As the captain, this decision had to be his.
Rocks was silent. He looked at the sobbing Dolum, the wary Gatz and Silver, and then at the expectant, fanatical Charlotte Linlin, lost in thought. Rocks was no fool. He knew very well what accepting this woman on board meant. The benefits were obvious. Charlotte Linlin's strength was unquestionable; she was a top-tier fighter. Her joining would instantly boost the Rocks Pirates' power, even making them a formidable force that could not be ignored on the sea. But the disadvantages were equally fatal. This woman was like an unstable bomb, with a perverse, moody, greedy, and willful personality. Her desires were endless, especially her craving for delicious food. If her desires were not met, she could erupt at any moment. At that point, forget conquering the world; whether the ship could be saved would be a question. It was a gamble with equally huge risks and rewards.
Just as Rocks was weighing the pros and cons, a calm voice came from the kitchen door. "Captain." It was Ren. He had been standing there at some point, holding a plate of freshly made, fragrant snacks. It was a plate of golden, crispy waffles made from the flour they had captured and the honey they had collected from the island, drizzled with a special, creamy sauce rendered from Sea King fat.
Charlotte Linlin's nose twitched sharply. Her huge eyes were instantly captivated by the plate of waffles, and drool began to stream from the corner of her mouth.
