Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Phantom

"Enemy attack!"

The CP agents on the ship reacted quickly, drawing their weapons and surrounding him. They were all candidates for CP0, their skills far surpassing the previous CP9 agents. But they were facing a monster who had eaten a legendary fruit and whose power had leaped to a new level.

Silver's spear seemed to come alive in his hands. He could clearly hear each enemy's next move and see the future trajectory of their bullets. His spear danced like a silver dragon emerging from the sea. Every block, every thrust, was executed to perfection. Silver didn't go for the kill, simply using the shaft and body of his spear to knock his opponents away or unconscious. The entire process was as fluid and graceful as a dance.

Meanwhile, Gatz was watching Silver's display of power, scratching his head in frustration. "Captain! I want to go too!"

"Go on. Just try not to break the deck," Rocks waved his hand.

"Alright!" Gatz roared. He pushed off with his legs, and his massive body shot into the air like a cannonball, crossing several hundred meters of sea and landing with a BOOM on the stern of the Phantom ship.

"Wahahaha! Grandpa Gatz is here!" He swung his giant anchor, sweeping it at the remaining CP agents. After eating the Soul-Echo Fruit, Gatz could feel the power surging within the anchor. Each swing created a dull sonic boom. The CP agents' Iron Body technique was as fragile as paper before him. They were sent flying with broken bones, collapsing to the deck.

In less than five minutes, this pinnacle of World Government technology, along with its elite agents, was completely and utterly suppressed by the Rocks Pirates.

Dolum was the first to rush onto the ship. He caressed the smooth metal hull, feeling the precise internal structure, his eyes filled with tears of joy. "It's the keel of the Treasure Tree Adam! And memory alloy armor! My god! This... this is a work of art! This is the ship of my dreams!"

Rocks and Ren were the last to leisurely board the new vessel. "Not bad," Rocks said, looking around and nodding in satisfaction. "Plenty of space, and the kitchen looks a lot better than that last kennel." He kicked the stunned CP0 captain aside and sat down in the captain's command chair, grinning at his crew.

"Alright, boys! Clean up the battlefield and set sail! We've got ourselves a new home!"

The Phantom floated silently in the harbor of the Island of Whispering Shadows, a stark contrast to the gloomy and bizarre surroundings. This agent vessel, representing the highest level of World Government technology, had now changed hands.

The crew was cleaning up the battlefield with great enthusiasm. Gatz cheerfully piled the unconscious CP agents in a corner of the deck like sacks of potatoes, looting all their valuables while muttering, "You guys got to ride in such a nice ship, you've got to pay the toll!"

Silver stood silently in the crow's nest, adapting to his new senses. His gaze seemed to be able to pierce through the fog and see the movements of fish schools several nautical miles away. The improvement the Soul-Echo Fruit had brought him was an assassin's dream come true.

But the most excited person on the ship was undoubtedly the shipwright, Dolum. He was like a child with a new favorite toy, running all over the ship. He would stroke the sturdy mast made from the Treasure Tree Adam, then tap on the gleaming memory alloy armor, letting out gasps of amazement.

"Perfect! This is an absolutely perfect creation! The power system is the latest steam-turbine hybrid, and it even has a Coup de Burst! The storage has a temperature control system, the helm is hydraulic... Oh my god, I love this ship!" Dolum disappeared into the engine room and didn't come out for a long time. His dreamy, obsessed muttering could be heard from inside, giving Gatz goosebumps.

Rocks sat in the spacious captain's quarters, leafing through the ship's log and documents he had found. He had his legs crossed, and at his feet were the former CP9 leader and the current CP0 captain, tied up like dumplings. Under extreme fear, they had already spilled everything they knew about the mission.

"Saint Jalmack..." Rocks looked at the name on the document, a contemptuous sneer on his face. "A hundred-year-old Celestial Dragon monster, dreaming of gaining eternal amusement through the Soul-Echo Fruit? How utterly boring." He casually tossed the documents aside, stood up, and walked to the large floor-to-ceiling window, watching his crew.

Gatz was practicing new moves on the deck, his giant anchor now creating faint sounds of wind and thunder as he swung it—a technique he had grasped after hearing the voice of his own power. Silver's figure flickered between the masts like a ghost, so fast that he was just a blur. This fledgling pirate crew was growing savagely at a terrifying rate.

"Captain." Ren's voice came from behind him. He had appeared at the doorway at some point. "I've inspected the kitchen." For the first time, there was a hint of satisfaction in Ren's voice. "The equipment is very complete. A cold storage, an oven, a temperature-controlled fermentation room, and an independent ventilation system. Although it's not quite what I envisioned, it will at least... allow me to use thirty percent of my skills."

Rocks turned around and looked at him with interest. "Oh? And what is your ideal kitchen like?"

A light shone in Ren's eyes—the longing of a chef for his ultimate dream. "I need a cooking station that can accommodate a hundred people working at once. An ingredient cultivation room that can simulate every climate in the world. A top-tier storage room built from Seastone to isolate all stray flavors."

"I also need a set of custom-designed cookware that can control heat, pressure, and time with millisecond precision." Ren paused, his voice quiet but firm. "My ambition is not just to make delicious food. I want to create dishes that can change lives, miracles that can grant people power, the ultimate form of the 'Boon of the Feast' that would make even the gods bow."

"What I want is a moving city of gastronomy that can carry all my ambitions!"

Rocks listened quietly, the smile on his face growing wider and wider, finally erupting into hearty laughter. "Hahahaha! Good! A moving city of gastronomy! That's the Head Chef I chose! Your ambition is approved!"

He walked over to Ren, placed a large hand on his head, his eyes burning. "You just focus on pursuing your culinary path. As for the stage, the ingredients, and any enemies who dare to stand in your way—leave them all to me!"

"This Phantom is just the beginning. One day, I will build you a true city of gastronomy. We'll sail it on these seas and make the entire world come to worship your culinary skills!"

One, an ambitious man bent on conquering the world. The other, a dreamer seeking the pinnacle of the culinary arts. Two souls, seemingly with nothing in common, were now tightly bound together by their respective ambitions.
