Chapter 3 - The night stand

"Gee, thanks," Lila retorted, rolling her eyes. "You know, most people would stick to 'You've got pretty eyes' or 'Hey nice smile.' not hey you're weird' Totally a great way to flatter a girl."

"Who said I was trying to flatter you?" he teased.

She opened her mouth to speak, but the words caught in her throat when he leaned forward, his voice dropping to a low, soft tone. "For the record." He murmured. "You do have pretty eyes. And a nice smile. But I figured you knew that already."

Her heart beat rapidly, so fast she could end up in a hospital with a heart attack. She quickly covered it with a scoff. "Careful, Spike. I might think you actually like me."

"Maybe I do," he said, his eyes locking onto hers.

She felt a sudden heat, using her hand to blow her face.

Is this the wiskey's doing or what.

Why does she feel the desperate urge to grab him by the hair and kiss him.

Lila forced her voice to stay steady.

"Well, you'd better be careful Spike. I have a strict no-dating-customers policy."

"Good thing I haven't ordered anything yet," he said, leaning back. His smirk returning as he lifted his glass.

Lila's laughed, half-genuine and nervous. She shook her head, standing up and grabbing her tray. "You're such a pain," she muttered, "A total trouble."

"Only if you let me be," he replied, his voice following her as she walked away.

Lila walked back to the bar, she could feel his eyes on her like they were tracing every move she made. She didn't even have to turn around to know that. And the thought of it made her fumble as she set her tray down, nearly knocking over a salt shaker.

"You okay, Lila?" the bartender asked, glancing over.

"Peachy." she muttered, looking around. "where's Kate?"

"She left early. Said she had something to take care of. Told me to let you know she'd be back late."

"Oh, okay, cool." She reached for a glass of water drinking it so fast She choked and ended up coughing like a lunatic.

'Perfect. Absolutely perfect.' She murmured.

She set the glass down, gathered what was left of her dignity, and stole a quick glance over her shoulder.

Sure enough, he was still there, leaning back in his seat with that maddeningly smug smirk.

And damn, he looked even hotter now.

She shook her head and turned away, forcing herself to focus. Focus, Lila. He's just a guy. A hot guy with a smug face and a voice that makes your knees melt. Nothing new.

But the night only got worse.

Or better, depending on how you looked at it.

Every time she passed his booth, his gaze found her. Every. Single. Time. And each time their eyes met, that goddamn smirk grew more smug, like he knew exactly what he was doing to her.

When she finally couldn't take it anymore, she marched back over to him, hands on her hips. "Alright, Spike, what's your deal? You've been staring at me all night."

He looked up at her, unbothered. "Maybe I like the view."

She blinked, momentarily stunned. "You—ugh, that's such a line!"

"Did it work?" he asked, the corner of his mouth twitching.

"No!" she shot back, but the warmth creeping up her cheeks betrayed her.

"Lila," Oscar barked from across the room, snapping her out of the moment. "Get your lazy ass back to work!"

She sighed, giving Dominic one last glare. "Enjoy your whiskey, Spike."

"I already am."

**HOURS LATER**

The club was finally starting to empty out at 2 am. Lila dragged herself from table to table, wiping up sticky glasses and crumpled napkins.

Her feet ached, her back screamed in protest. She just wanted to be on her bed bed because when dawn broke, she had an interview to face."

She froze mid-wipe when a cold voice hit her. "You're still here."

Lila looked up, startled to see spike standing so close to her. His blazer was slung over one shoulder, and the top few buttons of his shirt were left undone, revealing just enough to make her stomach do it thing. Okay, that was too much for a lady to handle.

"Still working," she corrected, straightening up. "just need to get over this."

He chuckled, stepping closer. "What if I told you I could make tonight a little more… interesting?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And how do you plan on doing that?"

He didn't answer. Instead, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek, black room key. The kind that practically screamed luxury.

Her heart stuttered. "You're kidding."

"Do I look like It?" he asked, voice low and laced with seduction.

She stared at the key, then back at him. She scoffed.

What does he take her for.

Her better judgment screamed at her to walk away, to just laugh it off, tell him where to shove his pretty card, and go home.

She was about to snap at him to get the fuck when he leaned in close to her ear. His hot whiskey breath all over her ear he whispered, "Come with me."

Her breath hitched. Her brain short-circuited. Every nerve in her body was on high alert. His scent filled her nose, and her legs were Practically Jell-O.

"You know what? Screw it." like a traitor, she betrayed herself. She just needed to be selfish for a once. She never had the time to lay with a guy, even in highschool. She was always working, taking care of her brother and reading. A basic triangle life.

As the saying goes, Opportunity come but once and she wasn't about to let this pass by chance

"Good choice." His smirk widened.

She headed to the locker room to change, tossing her apron onto the hook peeling off her work dress for a blue dress and sweat shirt. She didn't even realize she'd forgotten her contacts.

Dominic was amazed at the shocking change of the sexy waitress to a normal causal person but she still looked hot even in that.

"Shall we" Dominic extended his hand for her. She wasn't sure if this was a good choice but screw it again she took it anyways. They both left Lila making sure she signed out before stepping of of the club.

Milliseconds after the stepped out of the club a BMW 7 series pulled up Right in front of them. A man in a crisp black suit stepped out, bowed slightly at Dominic, and opened the door without a word.

Lila blinked. 'Who the hell is this man again??'

"Step in" Dominic said. She slid in followed by Dominic.

Lila tried not to gawk at the interior, but the car was basically a palace on wheels. Her nerves caught up to her fast, her confidence repelling.

The longer they stayed in the car, the more awkward she felt. She knew he was rich, but not to this extent. Or maybe

Dominic noticing her tensed behavior smirked.

"I thought you saw this coming. Why are you so tense"

"Hum.. not this level of it." she muttered, her fingers tugging nervously at the hem of her dress. "This car probably costs more than my entire apartment building. I feel like i should be careful"

Dominic laughed wholeheartedly, even the driver was surprised he looked back. Dominic is not someone who smiles easily talk less of laughing, it's his first time seeing Dominic laugh after a long time.

"I can always buy a new one if it gets scratched'

"Jeez... Rich people and their ways.." Lila turned toward the window trying to distract herself from looking at his bare chest from the unbuttoned shirt.

Dominic smirked, knowing well what he was doing. He unbuttoned more to reveal part of his abs. Lila could see everything from his reflection of the window, but pretended she didn't even notice even though her cheeks were bright red.

"How much of me do you want." He asked her playfully, teasing her with a deadly smirk.

"Oh holy Mary," She mumbled under her breath, her eyes meeting the gaze of the driver from the rearview mirror. She immediately flushed in embarrassment. She wanted to jump out of the moving car so bad.

Luckily for her the car pulled to a stop. He stepped out and offered his hand for her. She took it and they both went into the luxurious hotel.

They took the elevator to the VIP part of the hotel. Dominic was about to open the suit with the card when he looked at Lila

"Are you sure about this" his face was calm but serious.

"Don't you want to see how much I want you. Hun.. " Lila replied sarcastically as she leaned against the wall biting her lower lip and playing with the tip of her hair.

Dominic couldn't hold back any longer. he was so full of energy and ready to feed his little monster what it had always longed for.

Lila stepped into the hotel suite having no time to observe the beautiful scene in front of her. She turned, still playing with the tip of her hair.

This is just fun. A night fun with someone she'll never see again.

Dominic closed the door behind them, his intense gaze locking unto hers. He wasn't sure if he enjoyed her tease or was just amused. All he knew was that no girl had ever made him like this. He had never wanted someone so bad. And if it was seduction well it worked. He only hoped to have the night and give her her rent. For the first time he lost control.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked again, his voice low and rough, as if even speaking was an effort to hold himself back.

Lila hesitated for only a moment before lifting are chin. Her lips curved into a teasing smile. "What? Are you backing out, spike?

The corner of his mouth curled upward. "Not a chance."
