Chapter 4 - Ch4

The shock of seeing the demolitionist poking his head out from the dense, tangled woods, instead of the guide I'd been expecting was beyond words. My heart sank a bit. That was a clear sign that I was not in fact in Master mode…

"Well, that is unfortunate.." thought I to myself remembering my previous playthrough. That changed a bunch of my plans, mainly now I had to kill Skeletron before Wall in order to make a one hit machine for wall, I am just not dealing with imps on top of the wall…

Second thing is a Golem, I can't rush him and I will need to make an arena with luminant coating…

//Author's comment, you can skip this if you know how Golem is changed in Legendary difficulty.

Golem turns all light in the temple. He also becomes just a silhouette and becomes extremely small. If you decide to put torches in the arena, he will break them, although he cant brake campfires. The best strategy considered to be: dig an open area under the temple, put wall behind your arena, cover them with illuminant coating. When summoning the golem you need to teleport away with Rod of discord or using hoik(teleports are not an option because you cant place wires in temple).

End of comment.//

And the worst of them: Skeletron Prime… he got one(as far as I noticed) simple but WERY nerve wracking change: his bombs that he launches actually destroy the terrain. It took me by surprise when I first summoned him in my arena and instead of demolishing him I was forced to retreat (exit the game) because he started destroying my gorgeous arena.

As these thoughts swirled in my head, my hands were already moving, swinging my axe into a nearby tree with a rhythm born of desperation. I was chopping down the wood as if my life depend on it(which it did).

While I was busy working as a lumberjack, demolitionist protected me and even managed to kill a slime, which was very impressive considering that that gnome probably is more blind than a mole. The slime dropped some coins and a gel which I quickly turned to torches.

Next I crafted platforms towering to the skies. Every 5 blocks I build a mini platform on which you can easily stand. At around 20 blocks height (not around but exactly) I started building a box that will serve me as a temporary base.

I would be a fool if I'd make only one box so I made 3 for future NPC's to move in(guide, demo, erchant). Sadly I wasn't able to finish the house due to lack of resources which ended in quite unfortunate time because I almost finished and only a couple of walls and a door left.

So, back down I went, axe in hand, to chop more trees. The demolitionist's kills had piled up a small stash of loot which I quickly pick up. When I chopped a tree I missed a jump which resulted in me being hit. It was not fun. I had experience in martial arts before and had lots of fight as a result, but that thing's hit was not comparable to even the most serious injury I had. They were just on another level. Not only I felt like my ribs shattered in my chest but also acid from slime sting like sting from jellyfish. Altho the pain was unbelievable my hp bar showed that I was missing 35 hp. A third of my max…

But I done nothing to fight back. Slime is a neutral mob, it deals contact damage, yes, but it doesn't chase you. It starts doing so only if you hit him. So I continue to chop my wood.

It would be the end of the story if not the demolitionist who decided to throw a grenade at that slime. And he throw it good. So good in fact, that it hit slime when he was starting his jump and with the knockback of the grenade the slime become a fast moving projectile which I neither expected nor was able do dodge.

It hit me in a face dealing a whopping 55 hp. Fortunately I did not feel any pain. The unfortunate part was the fact that the slime was very close to me, was ready to jump and I was his target.

I run away as quickly as I could hitting all trees with my axe in the process. I didn't ran for long though, because in front of me was angry green slime. I grabbed the nearest mushroom and ate it which made me feel better, but not too much. I ran back to demolitionist to seek protection and notice that he was running away from not one, but two slimes.

With no proper weapon or any means to defend myself all I could was start praying and being on a mercy of an old gnome. Thankfully he didn't disappointed me managing to knock two slimes away with first grenade and killing one with the second. When he focused on the green slime that approached us I took my axe and managed to kill that almost alive blue slime.

I was terrified because only one hit was enough to finish me for good. Four or five different ways of how this slime can kill me flashed before my eyes but I managed to survive.

Than suddenly it hit me! I was with demolitionist, not the guide! I can buy some grenades from him! So I quickly exchanged all my silver and copper for 7 grenades. I also sold my shortsword for an additional 2 grenades! How smart I am!

When I was trading I realized that nothing hurt and my health stat was full, so I decided that it is time to explore. The direction I choose to go was on the right because I saw a large living tree there.

Making the entrance I make torches from all my slimes that I had. As I was about to jump into the darkness, I spotted something moving there. Throwing a torch I saw a gnome jumping, trying to get out. I felt really lucky. It was just a matter of seconds when that guy got out of living tree and charged straight at me. But there was a thing he didn't account for. It was the sun that, although was already barely visible through the tops of the trees, still was there. And so the gnome turned into a stone as soon as the sunlight shined at him.

I started climbing down the tree. The tree was massive. So massive in fact that even in the inside of the tree I could easily move around. To my surprise I saw a wooden door.

"Mabe not all chests were gone" I thought to myself. Opening a door revealed a precious chest. Inside was a flinch staff, 12 silver bars, rope, some potions, red potion and recall potion. When I took everything from the chest, I than took the chest itself and a loom that stood nearby.

Going back to the surface was easy, no enemies, no missed steps, nothing. Feeling lucky I decided to take a look at the second living tree.
