"Is that a beast"
It was another feral... but smaller. It was a lurker.

3.... 4 .....
It was a pack... No an army of lurkers.
They stood still, did not move.... No one did. The beasts eyes landed on those closet to the portal.
Those, closest to the portal just stood in silence. But then one of the best moved towards one of the boys there.
It was calen, he was the closest to the portal. Frozen . He looked around but no one dared bulge, the beast slowly approached him, tension building in the air. It's jaw opened, saliva dripping. Calen did not move it paused for a while. Calen looked at Damian with a pleading look.
As if trying to say "please help him, I'm begging you"
"look, no matter what happens tomorrow, don't try to be a hero...ok" sky words soon echoed in his mind, slowly Damian backed off going far away from the beast as possible, heading as far away as he can from the portal.
"Mission 2 for the first year will now begin" the same voice as earlier rang out.
*SNAP-CRUNCHHK*
The beast immediately bite through calens head, muching on it.
*Ahhhh----!!!!!!!*
The room erupted in panick
Students started running to the back pushing one another, however, all the passage the feral were coming from were instantly sealed. They were trapped. There was no escape.
The beats lunged at them ferociously, faster, deadlier, more precise. The nobles still stood tall, conjuring their affinity and attacking but just now the ones fearsome nobles were useless.
There attacks were easily dodged and even the ones that hit did little to no damage. The beast were relentless, they attacked clawing at the students, ripping through flesh.
All the students where horrified as they watched their class mate die one by one. The students numbers where drastically decreasing.
1 fell, 5 fell
20 fell..... 50 fell, the numbers kept going up.
There were about 100 beast, the students attacked but nothing worked, some brave ones tried getting close to stab the beats but the beast instinct and dodging capability was undeniable. The difference between a basic and secondary tier beast was evident.
Screams echoed, this wasn't a test.... It's a massacre.
The students ran madly, like scattered ants. Even Damian who had gone to the back line was no save, various beast lunged at him, his concealing shadows did not work either. Some students tried sneaking around and headed towards the portal to return and report this possibly to the instructors but where ambushed by the near by lurkers and those who did manage to avoid them received a brutal realization.
" Th...the....Portal is sealed"
"It...it's sealed"
A barrier had been placed on the portal, and no one could get out. Those who heard fell into despair, know their fate was sealed.
Even more panick spread as those who had hope of going back came to this realization.
'was this all planned '
" Abby stopped standing we need to run far away from the portal" mireen grabbed Abby's hand
" I know, but what about the boys"
" We can't save them, ok!, these beast are not paying around. They're are probably dead anyways if they were still over at where we left them. Let's go!"
" But we can't know if we don...." A lurker lunged out of no where, but Abby was quick to respond. Kicking it aside while throwing ice shards in its eyes. Stunning it for a moment.
" Look Abby if we keep standing here, we'll die "
" Ok fine, let me carry our bag " Abby rushed to carry their bag of cores that she had dropped earlier.
"There's no use for the core if we're dead" mireen said but Abby has already rushed to get the bag, running back after getting it she headed to mireen but....
" Mireen!"
" Abby, just go, I'll catch up, ok" mireen was struggling with the blinded lurker that it's jaws around her legs. Abby rushed towards mireen with her sword in hand and bag across her neck. Running towards mireen, another beats lugged at a boy in her path. Bitting through his neck, killing him instantly. Seeing this Abby hesitated.
" Abby go!!, run, please!!!" Mireen shouted snapping Abby out of it. " I'll catch up, do you really think one lurker can kill me like that loser"
Abby's leg began to move on their own, she struggled to get passed the line of people fighting and bodies piled on the ground. As she looked back she saw the beats that had killed that boy rush towards mireen who was still trying to fight off the lurker bitting her leg .
And wasting no time the beats but through her neck, ferociously munching. Blood gushed out, her legs soon stopped moving as she could struggle no more.
She was dead.
Witnessing this Abby cried as continued pushing her way to the back line with the bag of cores.
Everywhere Damian looked, someone dyed. One boy was turn apart before his beast friends eye. Another was pushed towards the beats by his own friend as he ran, another noble hero was screaming in pain and agony as a beast tore opened his internal organs.
A beats lunged at Damian but he dodged, sword in hand. A shaking hand . He was scared, he felt like he was about to die as he stared at the beats predatory eyes. It lunged again but Damian dodged... Barely. The beast managed to scratch his legs injuring him.
He fell to the groud, the beast seeing this quickly attack, however damain blinked. And in the next instant he was behind the beats, he wasted no time and strong the beast back with his sword. This was damains second affinity, Space. The beast screamed in pain but unlike the previous beats Damian had killed, his sword did not go through.
The beast now angry rushed at Damian relentlessly, Damian dodged but when he couldn't he would just blink and appear behind the beats attacking it again. But the beast was also a smart one, it pushed Damian at a corner prompting him to use his teleporting ability but when he did the beast already predicted where he would appear and immediately lunged at him, bitting his arm. Screaming he stabbed his sword in the beats eyes.
It screamed again in agony as it moved back, damain wasting no time lunged at the beats, kicking the sword deeper, the beast screamed, using only one eye, it's vision was limited but it was still able to dodge some attacks, Damian tried stumping on the sword handle to drive it even further but the beast dodge however it go it buy it's side, confused it jumped back to create some space but when it landed on some sharp objects, it was like a transparent spike. This is his 3rd affinity. Glass.
The beast screamed in pain as it tried to run but each step was met with a sharp glass, damain rushed at the beast, taking advantage of it's slow movement, the beats trying to run so a shadow and turning around he saw the now determined Damian, filled with adrenaline. He punched the sword dead into the beats, even taking it out and stabbing it's head multiple times ensuring it's death.
The portal soon glowed and finally the long awaited instructors had arrived. Hundreds , no over a thousand had died. But even so and the current ones still dieing, the instructors were no in a hurry. No instructor moved they just watched.
The same voice as earlier soon rang out
" mission 2 for the first years have now been completed"
And immediately all the 4 instructors moved in a blur, killing every single beats with precision and in a few seconds they were all dead.
