Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The First Clothing Store

Shop transfer obviously has many intricacies. Businesspeople seek profits, and as the saying goes, speak human language to humans and ghost language to ghosts.

If someone else came to negotiate with Zhang Ya, she would definitely say it was due to some special circumstances or a family issue, or she had other urgent matters to attend to, etc. Because of various situations, she was "forced" to transfer the shop. She would never foolishly say it was because of poor business.

In the past, there was a spicy hotpot shop transfer, and the owner was very clever, hiring a group of people to create an illusion of booming business, eventually transferring it at a high price.

However, after another owner took over, the business immediately returned to its original state.

Seeking a better price is the objective of these owners.

But Qin Yun worked here and understood the situation well, so Zhang Ya couldn't make up these excuses.

"Fifty thousand is a bit expensive." Qin Yun pondered slightly after hearing Zhang Ya's words.

"It's not expensive."

Zhang Ya shook her head and said, "These clothes are the latest styles. I'm only selling them at cost price, plus the shop's decoration is ready; I spent nearly twenty thousand on renovations, and these shelves are the best..."

She indeed invested a lot in this shop, previously firm in her belief that she could manage it well. But in the end, she had to walk away forlornly.

"President Zhang, even if I buy the shop, I might not continue in the clothing business. If not, these shelves are useless to me, and I might have to remodel the shop. The clothes would serve no purpose for me."

Qin Yun thought for a moment, having worked part-time over a year and in countless shops, he understood these matters well.

"My highest offer is 40,000."

"Forty thousand is too low." Hearing Qin Yun's offer, Zhang Ya shook her head and said, "You can check the cost price list of my clothes; even selling at a loss exceeds 40,000, and I haven't charged you for the rest of the renovations."

The two began arguing over the price, and finally settled on 46,000.

"Qin Yun, the price is set, when shall we sign the transfer contract?"

With matters settled, Zhang Ya rarely showed a smile on her face.

She sighed with relief.

Initially, this shop's business was good and earned some money, but when others saw the booming business, several clothing shops opened nearby in short order.

The foot traffic drastically decreased, gradually worsening business, and it had been losing money for two months already.

At this rate, in a few months, she'd likely lose all she had earned.

Someone else wanted to take over, but the offer was too low, one offering only 41,000, and another offering 43,000.

Had this continued past May Day, she would have accepted 43,000 just to stop the daily losses from accumulating.

Now with Qin Yun offering 46,000, she was quite satisfied.

"Then let's sign as soon as possible!" said Qin Yun.

The sooner the shop opened, the sooner his Level One Wealth Gathering Array could find its place.

"Alright, I'll call the landlord over." Zhang Ya nodded, took out her phone, and started to make a call.

This place was also rented from someone else, with monthly rent at 4,000, totaling 48,000 per year.

For this small county with a population of just over a hundred thousand, this rent was expensive.

Soon, the landlord arrived, and agreements were signed by Qin Yun, Zhang Ya, and others. The remaining rent was transferred to Qin Yun.

According to the rent agreement signed by Zhang Ya, there was one month left, after which Qin Yun would need to sign a new agreement with the landlord.

After a busy while, everything was finally settled.

"Qin Yun, here's all the information on the clothing suppliers for the shop. I've cleared all the remaining balances, and I've informed them about the shop transfer. If you want to start a clothing store, you can contact them directly. Also, there are various other materials, all for you." Zhang Ya said with a smile.

Now she felt completely at ease.

"Okay." Qin Yun nodded.

"I'm off, wishing you booming business."

Finally, Zhang Ya left, leaving only Qin Yun and Zhang Qing in the shop.

"Qin Yun, Qin... Boss." Zhang Qing looked at Qin Yun, clearly a bit stammering.

In such a short time, the clothing store changed ownership?

She suddenly felt nervous inside, wondering how Qin Yun, now the owner, would handle her. Would he keep her, give her a raise, cut her wages, or directly dismiss her?

Despite doing nothing in the store, she did not want to lose the job.

"Sister Qing, you can go home for now. I'll let you know in a few days when to start work again." Looking at Zhang Qing, Qin Yun said with a smile.

Since he planned to continue with a clothing store, there was no need to dismiss Zhang Qing.

In Qin Yun's mind, this store would need to hire several more people.

"Okay, President Qin." Zhang Qing nodded quickly; now that Qin Yun was the boss, she dared not tease him like before.

"Is he just saying to come back in a few days, or does he mean to fire me? Sigh, I should look for a new job in the meantime," Zhang Qing muttered internally.

Being rather lazy, she was reluctant to leave an environment she had been in for some time. Even knowing the store could be transferred any time, she hadn't prepared earlier.

The thought of finding another job gave her a headache.

Zhang Qing left, leaving only Qin Yun in the shop.

He looked at the data in his hand and started organizing the clothes inside the shop.

Zhang Ya was very meticulous, having proper documentation of the cost prices, selling prices, etc. The clothes in the store had a cost price of at least 50 each, with most even over 100. While not branded, the quality was excellent.

In fact, affiliating with a brand store would obviously boost business, given that brand stores already have a reputation and are a choice for many.

A significant number of people only buy branded clothes.

But Zhang Ya didn't choose that route, and neither will Qin Yun now.

Not to mention the high franchise fees, even without joining a franchise, he wasn't worried about not being able to sell the clothes.

"The store displays and has around four hundred pieces, all women's clothing, in the warehouse. Zhang Ya targeted young women."

Qin Yun contemplated, "Looks like I need to bring in some men's wear."

Many walking on the street are couples or spouses, with many men accompanying women to buy clothes; having both men's and women's wear means both could shop.

Now, Qin Yun's greatest tool is the Wealth Gathering Array; the foot traffic surely wouldn't be lacking, and it wouldn't make sense to target only a small segment.
