The last day of the year.
In the Core District, at the Song Mansion, numerous distinguished guests visited throughout the day, just like it always had been, bustling with activity.
As the Grand Marshal of the Military Department, the most powerful figure in the main city, everyone wanted to forge connections with Song Changming.
Everyone knew that Song Changming would stay at home on this day, but only a few could actually meet him.
He didn't engage much with those dignitaries; only a few acquaintances could join him for food and conversation.
It had been this way for years, and gradually, all the influential families understood Song Changming's customs, so they didn't intrude much, only sending some selected New Year's goods to maintain a fairly good relationship.
In the evening, it was New Year's Eve.
Yang Zhen, Xing Tiexin, Lv Yuchen, Wang Wenyu, and others bade farewell and returned home.
