Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Ruan Ruan, Don't Even Think About Leaving Me

"Ruan Ruan, don't think about leaving me."

A deep, sexy voice sounded in Su Ruan's ear.

Her body trembled violently, and she suddenly opened her eyes to see her hands cuffed to the bedhead. The cold metal touch told her this was not a dream!

A familiar yet unfamiliar face was magnified in her view, causing Su Ruan to involuntarily whimper.

She had truly been reborn!

A dark undercurrent flowed in Lu Shinian's deep eyes as he lightly ran his fingers over the delicate cuffs on Su Ruan's wrists.

The cold touch deepened his gloom, his eyes slightly reddened, as he looked at the aggrieved softness beneath him, leaning down and pressing her hands with their fingers interlocked.

"Hiss..."

The taste of blood spread to her lips, Su Ruan frowned slightly; she knew he was punishing her.

Meeting the man's obsessive gaze, Su Ruan encircled her arms, her fingers threading through his soft hair, gently soothing.

He was the Federation Empire's highest commander, the man every woman wanted to marry,

But, on their wedding night, because she eloped, he showed such a disheveled, frenzied appearance.

Lu Shinian was momentarily dazed by Su Ruan's sudden tenderness. Was she retreating in order to advance, or...

The next moment, he heard a teasing laugh, and she gently bit his ear as if coaxing.

"I won't run anymore."

Lu Shinian's pupils contracted; before he could speak, Su Ruan kissed him on the lips.

Su Ruan nestled against Lu Shinian's chest like an addict, her voice soft and alluring, with a hint of a sob, causing Lu Shinian's breath to catch, a flicker of dark light passing through his dark eyes, with an undercurrent seeming to surge beneath, harboring a storm.

His large hands followed down, immediately turning the tables, embracing Su Ruan's slender waist tightly, as if wanting to meld her into his bones, with only one thought in mind.

She was his, and could only be his.

...

Su Ruan was ravaged by Lu Shinian's dominating kiss, and soon, she was adrift in the world he created, unable to extricate herself.

In a hazy state of consciousness, Su Ruan recalled the events of her previous life.

In her past life, she was pushed into the Insect Clan by her so-called best friend, her body torn apart and devoured. As her soul floated into the air, she saw the Lu Shinian she had always despised and feared charge into the Insect Clan and take her corpse away.

He lowered his head to kiss her already destroyed face, filled with deep emotion and obsession.

Before she could continue watching, she was pulled to an unfamiliar place by an irresistible force, a world entirely different from the interstellar.

She lived there for decades, studied the Forbidden Technique, using blood as a bond, defying fate, and despite the success rate being less than one percent, she still gambled.

She missed him too much, to the point where her heart ached.

Fortunately, she gambled successfully; she was truly reborn...

The next morning, Lu Shinian, who had not slept all night, looked greedily at the sleeping Su Ruan, a smile at the corner of his mouth.

Suddenly, a message popped up on the Light Brain at his wrist.

[Commander Lu, return immediately.]

Lu Shinian frowned slightly, did not reply to the message, but leaned down to peck Su Ruan's lips lightly, softly saying, "Ruan Ruan, be good."

"I'll be back soon."

Summoned by Your Majesty, he had to head to the Imperial Palace; it was his responsibility as the highest commander of the entire Federation.

Lu Shinian got up reluctantly, but no matter how slowly he moved, it was only a matter of a few minutes.

Soon after he left, Su Ruan awoke from her slumber.

She looked around somewhat dazedly; everything here felt so familiar yet unfamiliar. The soreness of her body seemed to remind her of everything that happened last night; so real, yet so unbelievable.

She tried hard to recall how far her relationship with Lu Shinian had developed, and as she thought, her expression involuntarily stiffened at the sight of the cuffs on her hands.

It seemed she had been reborn at the wrong time.
