Even though she couldn't see who it was, she could tell by the scent. She immediately grumbled in annoyance.
Jason Hawthorne initially came with good intentions to check on her, fearing she might be scared. But the moment he walked in, he was knocked to the ground by her and then accused. It was a classic case of no good deed goes unpunished!

He said it as if it was natural. Laura Quincy, though, was so angry that her lip twitched. Damn Demon King! He was accusing her first! She reached out to try to push off his chest to get up.
"You did it on purpose."
In the pitch-black environment, his deep, magnetic voice sounded particularly intoxicating.
Her hand slipped. Did she just touch something? It felt like a small, round bump...
