Summer's heart was pounding like a drum. She forced a smile and stood up somewhat awkwardly before turning away, attempting to hide everything with a façade of cheerfulness.
"Director, Fairchild, you brought Maeve to see the doctor, right? I'll be leaving now, I have some things to attend to..."
"Didn't you hear me?" Maeve repeated, her voice not loud, but deliberately lowered as if piercing through the ears, "I don't want to repeat myself a second time."
Summer, under their gaze, couldn't continue to evade the issue, so she awkwardly chuckled, "I noticed your face looked flushed when you fell, as if you were having an allergic reaction, so I was curious to ask since I often have allergies myself. I wanted to see if I could get some medicine from this doctor who seemed very skilled, especially after he quickly treated you. I thought he must be really good."
