Jixiang's grandma is completely blind. The terrain of Biansha Village is complicated, so to avoid causing trouble for her grandson, she only moves around the yard and rarely goes out.
A wooden cane worn smooth and shiny.
"Sister, grandma wasn't born blind. She was injured twenty years ago while helping the guerrillas, and that's why she can't see."
Jiang Mingyue hadn't expected there to be such a story.
Perhaps mentioning such glorious memories sparked interest even in grandma. She picked up her resting blind cane, went into the room, and emerged holding a box in her left hand. Jixiang quickly went to take it, while Jiang Mingyue supported the elderly lady.
The box was a grass-woven frame, now blackened by time, but the fine craftsmanship was truly impressive.
The lid opened, revealing neatly arranged items, and grandma reached in to retrieve three items one after the other.
Jiang Mingyue saw the first item clearly; it was a red five-pointed star, made of metal.
