Chapter 55 - Expose Myself First! - 55

On the other side of the rift.

Naturally, it was Kiana's bedroom.

Conductor Vill-V had never been here before—the one who visited earlier was the Great Magician.

But that didn't stop her from quickly figuring out where she was.

Especially since she had been involved in drafting the plans earlier.

She knew exactly how far her temporary base was from Kiana's room.

It took an hour by car to get there, yet in the blink of an eye, she was back.

Holy crap!

This was just… unbelievable.

"Have a seat." Kiana turned on the light, fetched a small cushion, and placed it by the low table, gesturing for Conductor Vill-V to sit.

To be honest, Conductor Vill-V's mind was already racing.

She wasn't stupid—it was just that sometimes, preconceptions could blind her.

That's how she ended up making a fool of herself.

Plus, her thinking tended to jump around a lot.

What might seem like absurd logic to others was just normal for her.

She could swear on all her knowledge that what Kiana had just pulled off so casually wasn't something achievable through simple experiments or technology.

The world today wasn't capable of that yet.

Spatial Teleportation?

And done so effortlessly.

She hadn't spotted any tech gear on Kiana either.

If you ruled out every other possibility…

Then it had to be Kiana herself who possessed this ability.

An ability that truly deserved to be called Authority.

At the very least, it was a myth far beyond what humanity could currently grasp.

Don't think it's no big deal just because it seemed low-key.

Sometimes, you really have to look at the essence of things.

The Great Magician Vill-V might be able to pull off plenty of seemingly impossible stunts.

But they were only illusions.

What Kiana had just done was the real deal.

Especially since Kiana seemed to be showing off on purpose right in front of Conductor Vill-V.

With another casual tear in the void, a small gap opened up like a window. She reached in and pulled out two cups, then reached in again and produced a kettle.

Conductor Vill-V's eyes nearly popped out of her head.

She looked utterly horrified, as if she'd seen a ghost.

"Here, have some tea." Kiana smiled, clearly enjoying Vill-V's adorable reaction.

After all, this version of Vill-V was still young, not much older than Kiana herself, and full of energy.

So flustered. So cute!

Conductor Vill-V took a tactical sip of tea, forcing herself to calm down.

But before she could say anything—Kiana spoke up again. "I'm giving you two options."

"I'm your friend!" Conductor Vill-V blurted out, choosing self-preservation without hesitation.

No need to ask friend or foe—I'm choosing friend.

"That's not what I meant…"

Kiana chuckled. "What I mean is, I'm not really into long explanations, and it's honestly getting late. I need to get to sleep."

"So, option one: I directly transfer some of what I know into your mind. You can digest it and make sense of it yourself. Option two: I go grab the archives from other countries for you, and you can read through them at your own pace."

She paused.

"I quite like you, you know. I feel like we really click. Your understanding has some… inaccuracies. I think it's necessary to correct them."

"..."

Conductor Vill-V studied Kiana's face, confirming she wasn't being threatened.

She was genuinely being given a choice.

Her expression turned complicated.

"What if I want both?"

"That's fine too." Kiana didn't mind.

She knew what Conductor Vill-V was thinking.

If she chose option one, the transmitted information might be tampered with.

Having been burned by intel once before, she couldn't afford to trust lightly.

If she chose option two, there was no guarantee Kiana wouldn't cherry-pick files to show only what she wanted seen.

But choosing both wasn't entirely safe either.

After all, both sources came from Kiana.

But… Conductor Vill-V had a hypothesis.

And because of it, she wanted to test both.

Just as she thought!

Kiana extended a slender finger and gently tapped Conductor Vill-V between the eyebrows. "Don't worry, it's just a simple use of the Authority of Sentience. What you saw earlier was the Authority of Void."

Conductor Vill-V felt a stream of somewhat fragmented information flood into her mind, waiting to be unpacked.

This… really was memory transmission?

Damn, it was even faster than data transfer over the internet.

This wasn't something humans could do.

Could a Herrscher manage it?

She glanced at Kiana, already forming a judgment.

But Kiana wasn't done.

She tore open the void again, reached inside, and pulled out stack after stack of top-secret documents, piling them up until the low table was completely covered.

"That's enough, that's enough… If it's related, this should be more than sufficient."

Conductor Vill-V stared blankly for a moment before snapping back to reality.

She quickly stopped Kiana from "borrowing" any more classified files.

A cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

"If you steal this many, someone will notice," she said.

"Let them notice. It doesn't matter." Kiana waved it off dismissively.

In this world, right now, she was the top dog.

She had power, connections, and enough self-destruct potential to keep the whole globe in check. Who would dare say no to her?

Not that she usually acted that way.

But she could if she wanted.

"Anyway, take your time going through these. If you get tired, just get some sleep." Kiana stood up and offered her own bed to Conductor Vill-V.

"What about you?" Conductor Vill-V asked.

"Me? I'll just crash in Snake's room. She's not around tonight anyway." Kiana shrugged casually.

With that, she left Conductor Vill-V alone in the room.

After Kiana was gone, Conductor Vill-V sat in silence for a moment, then pulled out her little notebook.

She jotted down the current situation and her own conclusions. Then she began processing the information in her head, her pen scratching across the paper without pause.

It was clear.

Kiana's memory transmission was given only to Conductor Vill-V.

Each of Vill-V's personalities had separate memories that weren't shared.

So, as usual, she had to rely on pen and paper to communicate with the others.

But the more she processed the information Kiana had given her, the more astonished Conductor Vill-V became.

The Sky Screen truly had no connection to any nation or organization.

To this day, no country, group, research institute, or lab had been able to decipher it.

Not only did they not know where the Sky Screen came from—

They could only guess that it might indeed be from the future.

Because the content shown on the Sky Screen was real.

Whether it was the Herrschers, the Honkai, the zombies, or the Honkai beasts…all of it was real.

It seemed these things really were different from what she had assumed.

The answers had been right in front of her all along. But she'd overthought it, tangled herself up in doubts, and ended up making a fool of herself earlier.

Too clever for her own good.
