Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: Hanging Steel Rogers

"WTF… four Allens?"

Rogers' face darkened, his eyes growing more serious than ever. He knew little about the Inhumans, and now, seeing four versions of Allens standing before him, he couldn't help but feel unsettled.

Even after leading the Avengers through Infinity War and Endgame, Rogers had never paid much attention to the Inhumans. To him, they were just a small, fringe group of altered humans—insignificant compared to the enemies the Avengers usually faced.

So even though he'd forced Dr. Zola to locate their hidden sanctuary, he still didn't fully understand the scope of their abilities.

"Zola, activate the particle cannon," Rogers ordered without hesitation.

On the shoulder of the red, white, and blue armor—nicknamed Iron Heart by Rogers himself—a brilliant sphere of white light gathered, preparing to fire.

"No. 1… give our old man some attention," Allens said coldly.

The first duplicate stepped forward, his eyes flashing. Lightning sparked in his palms.

Boom! Boom!

The particle cannon fired, colliding with the thick arcs of electricity from Duplicate No. 1. The sky erupted in a deafening blast, shockwaves scattering through the air.

"Holy hell… warning! Warning! Target can control electricity. Estimated output exceeds 6,000 volts!" Zola's artificial voice cracked with shock.

Duplicate No. 1 ignored the AI's shrieking. He launched several more bolts of electricity, battering the armor relentlessly.

Crack!

Panels on the armor slid open, loading micro-missiles. They launched instantly.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

But every missile was struck mid-flight by lightning, detonating in a fiery chain reaction. The resulting shockwave sent Rogers' armored suit flying backward more than ten meters.

"Goddamn it!" Rogers swore, shielding his eyes as another blinding surge of electricity lit up his visor. He barely had time to raise his arm before a blast of energy slammed into the armor.

"Warning! Arc reactor overload. Weapon systems at 90% capacity!" Zola screamed in alarm.

"Fire the energy cannon," Rogers growled. He wasn't rattled—this wasn't on the level of Thor's lightning. His armor could still withstand it.

Boom!

A crimson energy beam roared from the suit's palm, aimed straight at Allens.

"Number 2," Allens commanded coolly.

The second duplicate stepped forward, his body instantly transforming into solid rock. The energy cannon struck him head-on with a deafening thud. When the smoke cleared, only a faint scorch mark remained on the rock-like surface.

"Impossible…! His genetic structure completely transformed into stone. This defies science!" Zola stammered, trembling as his scanners confirmed what he was seeing.

Rogers had no time to argue. He triggered the shoulder launchers, firing Stark Industries' most advanced Jericho missiles. The warheads split mid-air, raining down toward Allens like a storm of fire.

"Number 3," Allens ordered.

The third duplicate raised his arms skyward. A freezing current swept across the battlefield.

Crack!

One by one, the Jericho missiles froze solid, turned to ice, and plummeted uselessly to the ground around Allens.

"It seems Tony Stark's suits aren't as impressive as I thought," Allens said with a hint of disappointment. His body flashed with blue light as the quantum bridge activated, teleporting him in an instant.

Shua!

Allens appeared directly in front of Rogers, grabbed the shoulder of the armor, and launched them both into the sky.

Boom!

The two shot upward, soaring hundreds of meters into the air.

Unlike the Inhuman known as Lincoln, whose flight ability was limited, Allens had already pushed the power far beyond its original design.

Crack!

Electricity surged across his palm. A massive bolt—nearly a meter wide—blasted into the armor, sending Rogers crashing back down to Earth like a meteor.

Boom!

The suit slammed into the ground, sparks bursting from overloaded circuits. The arc reactor flickered wildly, systems failing one after another.

Rogers forced the armor's right arm up, triggering the hidden compartment that released a Vibranium shield. Pouring what remained of the armor's power into it, he deflected the incoming energy.

Boom!

The Vibranium shield redirected the surge skyward. Thunder boomed as the air itself seemed to split.

"All that just to make you finally use your shield," Allens said with a grin. His plan had worked perfectly.

In a flash of blue light, he teleported again, reappearing only a meter away. His palm pressed against the shield.

"Absorb."

Activating the power of Absorbing Man, Allens' body shimmered, his skin instantly taking on the gleaming, indestructible quality of Vibranium.

"Vibranium… at last," he said, excitement burning in his eyes.

His right fist, now solid Vibranium, smashed into Rogers' armor. The mighty suit tumbled across the ground like a discarded toy, rolling dozens of meters before skidding to a stop.

Vibranium—known as the sound-absorbing metal—was nearly indestructible. Its unique molecular structure made it absorb heat, kinetic energy, and impact, dispersing them harmlessly.

Allens' body now gleamed silver-white, sharp and angular, resembling a metallic figure akin to Vision. He looked both regal and terrifying, a living weapon of unstoppable force.
