Chapter 17 - 017

"Alright! Although not yet that much, certainly I can freely act now, right? I can finally wander around the dungeon almost doesn't need to give a care about anything, right!?"

With those words resonating around the chilly atmosphere in the dungeon filled with excitement, I was cheerfully walking towards the boss area.

Behind me were the carcasses of the vices monsters who dared to get in my way.

Walking through a path along a flowing pool of crystal clear water, ripples of glints of lights were illuminating the place as the bright blue crystals embedded on the walls and brightening on the ground were causing reflection with their lively light.

Droplets of water were audible in the dungeon's chilly environment as I was excitedly advancing toward the B-class area's most evaded zone.

As I was getting closer, the air was indeed seemed to be getting tighter.

It appears the boss was really capable.

At the end of the crystal illuminated path, an intense light which seemed to be the end of it was visible.

...

I walked toward it without concern. I was just simply walking with a boss to be cut down in mind. There was really nothing special.

I entered as if simply having an attendance at an invitation for nobles gathering. Or to just the place of a friend or acquaintance.

"Excuse for the intrusion... "

Was what I muttered as I entered rather instantly, appearing without notice.

...

Whoosh...

...

"...?"

...

Wide.

The place was wide and seemed to have a dungeon area of its own.

It has mountains, it has a wide pool of water almost like a sea... Could be bigger, and has a vast sky.

I was just walking in a path like a corridor and at the end I will just saw a space this expansive? Seriously what happened to the management of this place?

Dungeons really were just formed naturally, huh?

Shifting my sight towards a mountain in the center, an aura burning in a dark hue has caught my attention.

Huge and sharp horns, rusty red fur, pitch black eyes with its irises glowing in intense red, and standing in a human-like figure, it carries a gigantic dual-bladed axe in its right hand then has it laid on its muscle-packed shoulder. Snorting in intense release of breath, it growls in rather alarming volume.

GROOOWL!!!

It was a bit far so its loud growl was kind of a splendid waste.

"Minotour... So this is the B's Boss?"

Well, his design and build was kind of unique and intimidating so I guess this ain't just a normal bull monster.

Traversing the mountains at aggressive speed, the minotaur was rushing into me almost not concerned with what would become of it next.

From side to side, it was confusingly appearing as it was rushing towards me with no reserve.

Boredly waiting, I uttered...

"How will doing that help you?"

Simultaneously, I send slashes in the direction where the monster has appeared. Covering all the numerous directions where it could flash step into, the monster could just stop as its rusty red steel-tough arm was grazed by one of the fleet shifting slashes.

Just so you know, it was not as if the air slash was not that lethal that it only gave it a graze. The monster really just stopped on time. Or it was just lucky.

I wasn't even trying to hit it yet. Just a trial of how a simultaneous attack would work against such a fighting style. Judging from the result... It wasn't that bad.

Driven by instinct, the bull stepped back.

Deciding to end the adventure so that I can go back and finally get some rest, I moved forward. After several steps...

"Uh..."

The path was off.

"The heck... ?"

I could just get flabbergasted.

Due to how eager I looked ahead to the far future of exploring in the dungeon and focusing on the bull as my practice shooting target, I totally missed that the place has no path to the other side. The place where the bull was was an isolated land as it was surrounded by a large amount of water.

"Huh... "

Scrutinising the place and confirming I have no path to walk on...

"So how do I get to that monster?"

I walked closer to the water to observe. As I got near, rumbling sounds occurred.

The ground shook as the body of water began to ripple in turbulence..

Not long after...

The water began to open a path as a concrete foothold towards the island emerged from beneath the water.

"Oh... "

Seeing it made me remember those happenings where doors were suddenly opening or a path suddenly emerging after clearing something. It was like they had a sensor if someone was around and needed to use the service. Dungeon thing, I think?

I totally forgot this was how dungeon works. I was really not familiar with the dungeon so every time I was faced with such a problem I immediately started questioning where the way was or how would this go without waiting that it would just appear just like now.

"Good grief."

I uttered as I let myself accept their humble offer of preparing a path walking on it leisurely as if it were my own.

"This sure will be a long walk."

I said as I was expanding my sight toward the vastness of the place.

The water area was too wide people couldn't escape if by any chance this path gets broken. Speaking of which, a rumbling sound and splashes of water echoed as the path began submerging behind me cutting off the way back.

"Oh... How vicious."

Being shown with the despair-inspiring swirling of the reddish-pink water, I could just let out an upset utterance.

"This place really prepared a certain death for its innocent visitors."

Unprepared adventurers would certainly panic over such a sight.

The water was clear. It was being reflected with the sky's extreme color which was why it was reddish-pink. That was also why...

Shifting my sight on the water...

The horrifying dungeon entities were clearly visible lying in wait for whatever that could feed them.

POOOGSHH...! SPLAAASH...!

Explosive splashes of water will be heard as I swing my sword towards the detestable monsters. Seeing them in such a horrific view was somewhat making my stomach ache.

Lying in wait to kill? For food?

It doesn't even deserve anger.

I went on my walk with my countenance showing deep fierce emotions.

"Your damages, your kills, your disgusting looks, your horrifying presences... Those all left deep trauma to those who you claim victims. Do you relate to any of that? No, because you are all just gases. Beings that have no value. How would I satisfy myself with your death?"

I uttered those words infuriated by the fact that those monsters may have claimed numerous lives and your anger was very much a waste considering those monsters weren't even enough to be treated as an existence.

The fury you strike on them was meaningless but their assault means life and death. This was so unfair!

'Who would face the furious revenge of the mournful adventurers?'

With that in mind, I looked at the snorting bull who was waiting for me in its territory.

"Could not be you, right?"

I asked indifferently about the bull.

These monsters were just empty beings. Entities that vanish into the atmosphere after death. Who would take responsibility for their atrocities?

There should be someone who needs to face the consequences.

On that concern, I looked ahead to the depths of the origin of the dungeon. There were many dungeons around the world. If there was an end to this, what could be the truth waiting in it?

I stand before the gigantic minotaur who was emitting an intense flow of dark aura.

"It is not you. The monsters like you are just hindrances. You are just an obstruction to my path. I don't have time for you."

I draw my sword.

For a moment, the purpose of the message flashed in my mind. It was just a sudden rise of sense in which I wouldn't be so sure what it was supposed to mean. That feeling was just as clear as... 'The message was sent to the whole world.'

I've thought of letting the bull monster do its everything so that I could write its skills in a book to serve as guidance for new adventurers, but...

"Will I be able to solo the dungeons?"

That's what I muttered with my hand holding my sword to the side.

It was a crucial matter.

Putting the issue aside for the meantime, I decided to finish the boss with a clear goal in my mind.

"I will protect everything! What sort of difficulty will stop me from doing that? I will overcome it all!"

It may sound confusing why I was being so worked up over an obstacle that was so insignificant it can't even make me release sweat...

After powering up disrupting the clouds above it as its aura burst out upward due to extreme intensity, the bull would be seen prostrated on the ground with a large hole in its chest.

...However, there was this feeling that was inducing me to get prepared for something that won't be ignorable.

Well, I just have one response to it.

"I will overcome it all. I will protect everything."

Cutting its horn, I turned around as the concrete path emerged causing a disarray of the reddish-pink water staying on its surface.

With the path presented completely, I walked on it leaving the island with the task fully completed.

"Next would be class A."

I uttered as splashes of water echoed from every side.
