Shuo looked at Yuzuru, who, just like Kaguya, tried to seduce him only to vanish from his life the next moment. With a sigh, he lifted his hands and gave her soft cheeks a gentle but insistent squeeze.
"You two really are idiots, you know that? Even your seduction routines are carbon copies. Did you honestly think I'd fall for it that easily?!"
He grinned, and with a flick of his wrist, a phone materialized in his hand.
"Already got it all on record. Sorry, but Kaguya's got no chance now!"
"Eh?"
Yuzuru blinked, curiosity flickering in her eyes as she eyed the phone.
"Curiosity: What is this?"
"This," Shuo replied, a sly smile tugging at his lips, "is the evidence that proves I've won my bet with you two blockhead sisters."
He tapped the screen, and the video from earlier began to play.
Onscreen:
"Shuo, please choose Kaguya…"
"Kaguya's so much livelier and cuter than Yuzuru, way more charming… She's the one who really deserves to be the Yamai Spirit…"
Yuzuru's eyes widened in horror. She slapped a hand over her mouth, her face flushing crimson. Without thinking, she lunged for the phone, but Shuo was quicker—he slipped it back into his system space before she could even touch it.
"Shuo, please don't let Kaguya see that!"
Seeing her defeated, Yuzuru could only look at him with pitiful, pleading eyes.
If Kaguya ever saw—or worse, heard—that video…
Oh god, she'd never live it down. Just the thought made her want to curl up and disappear.
Shuo, however, was unmoved. He simply took her hand in his, fingers gentle as he led her along the shoreline.
"Yuzuru, you know… Kaguya said almost the exact same thing to me not long ago."
"Kaguya…"
Yuzuru's expression grew complicated. She lowered her gaze, silent.
"So I made a bet with her. If you both tried to sacrifice yourselves for each other, then neither of you gets to disappear. Both of you have to stick around and live your lives—properly."
He smiled, tilting his head at her.
"At this point, Kaguya's already lost to me. Now it's your turn, Yuzuru."
She opened her mouth, but no words came out. She just stared at him, torn.
After a long moment, she finally managed, "But… but this is our destiny. One of us has to disappear…"
"Who says so?" Shuo squeezed her hand, his voice playful but firm. "I can fix your problem."
Then, with a mischievous glint, he threatened, "And if you don't agree, I'll show that video to Kaguya!"
"What?! No, please, anything but that!"
Yuzuru wilted, cheeks puffing up, her eyes full of wounded betrayal.
"You're so mean…"
Shuo just smirked and ruffled her hair.
"Well, who told you to be so silly?"
Yuzuru's eyes narrowed, but she made no move to escape his touch. If anything, she leaned into it. Being patted on the head like this—cherished, spoiled—it was a sensation she'd never known, and she found herself addicted.
"Hey, Yuzuru, want to hear what Kaguya said to me back then?"
His eyes sparkled with mischief.
Yuzuru's own eyes lit up. She nodded eagerly, anticipation written all over her face.
Shuo grinned, pulled out his phone again, and hit play.
Even Kaguya hadn't realized he'd been recording.
Sorry, Kaguya. No hard feelings.
Onscreen:
"Hey, Shuo, if you promise me one thing, you can do anything you want to me. I won't say no."
The voice was crisp, soft, and just a little bit dangerous. Yuzuru knew it instantly—Kaguya.
"Shuo, promise me, pick Yuzuru. She's sexier, gentler, more charming than I am. She deserves to live more than me."
"Kaguya, let's make a bet. If Yuzuru thinks the same way as you, you both have to give up on this self-sacrifice nonsense. No more trying to disappear for each other."
"Shuo, really? Is that possible? We can both live—nobody has to vanish…"
The video froze on Kaguya's face, hope and longing shining in her eyes.
Yuzuru bit her lip, emotions swirling. In that last frame, she could see it—Kaguya's desperate wish to live. She wanted to survive, too. But for Yuzuru's sake, she'd been ready to give everything up.
Just like lovers in a drama, Shuo slipped his arms around Yuzuru from behind, his voice gentle in her ear.
"Yuzuru, promise me: from now on, you and Kaguya have to live happily. No more overthinking, okay?"
"…Mm."

Later, Shuo condensed two pure spirit crystals and merged them into Kaguya and Yuzuru's bodies.
The strange bond that once forced them to compete—gone. The curse was broken.
The twins embraced, tears of joy streaming down their faces.
Kaguya and Yuzuru each clung to one of Shuo's arms and sat down, drawing all eyes in the villa.
"Shuo, if you hadn't helped us, I might have disappeared. But I think I've fallen for you," Kaguya admitted, a little shy but proud.
"Affection: Yuzuru feels the same. But since Yuzuru and Kaguya have reconciled, there's no more need to fight."
"In short, Shuo, from now on, you belong to both of us," Kaguya declared, smug.
"Agreement: That's right. Yuzuru and Kaguya will take good care of you," Yuzuru echoed.
"Wh-what?!"
Tohka and Origami both leapt to their feet, glaring at the twins as if they were mortal enemies.
"Ara ara, I can't just pretend I didn't hear that," Kurumi purred, licking her lips, a wicked smile curling on her face.
The other girls exchanged uneasy glances, watching the chaos unfold.
Kaguya and Yuzuru, still holding Shuo's arms hostage, snorted in unison.
"Sorry, Tohka, but as a member of my Peerage, you should be honored to offer Shuo up to me," Kaguya teased.
"Gratitude: Teacher Origami, thank you for your guidance. Yuzuru will remember your words and keep moving forward."
Tohka and Origami traded a look, then lunged, each grabbing hold of one of Shuo's legs.
"Don't be ridiculous! There's no way I'm letting you two have Shuo!"
"Exactly! Don't just spout nonsense like that!"
Kaguya just laughed.
"My, my, challenging us Yamai sisters? You're braver than you look!"
"Acceptance: Challenge received. Prepare to witness the true power of Yuzuru and Kaguya united!"
In an instant, the four girls were locked in a tug-of-war, each yanking on Shuo's limbs from a different direction.
Kurumi, eyes glinting crimson, leaned forward, her smile turning predatory.
"To ignore me so thoroughly… I suppose I'll just have to show you all what a true Nightmare can do."
"Wait—hey—NOT THERE—!"
"Yamete!!!"
Shuo's wail echoed through the villa as chaos erupted, the entire house descending into a harem-fueled free-for-all.
