Chapter 47 - Ch-47: Quest Turned to Hell Mode

'Heavens, did this guy's talent really increase so much that the leader of the Holy Knight Temple would offer to take him as his student?' Amanda was completely dumbfounded when she heard Victor's words.

"Victor, what are you going to do next after leaving?" Camelia asked curiously.

'Probably, I was thinking of going to the Adventurers' Guild and start hunting monsters to unlock my bloodline. You saw it from my memories, didn't you?' Victor said in his head as he looked at Camelia.

"What quest?" Camelia asked, genuinely confused, which caused Victor to raise an eyebrow and show her. When Camelia saw the next text, her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets in disbelief.

< Quest: Kill 50 B-Rank monsters >

< Reward: Bloodline Awakening >

'Heavens, how does the Akashic Record expect him to kill such high-level monsters—and that many?' Camelia cried out inwardly as she looked at Victor.

"You're not planning to actually try and hunt them while still being Level One, are you?" Camelia asked, genuinely alarmed.

Victor only snorted in response.

'I'm not a suicidal maniac or an idiot. Even though I want to unlock my bloodline soon, I don't think I'm strong enough at the moment. Moreover, I've already connected to the Records without the trial, which takes three months. I can just grind and advance to higher tiers, then attempt to awaken my bloodline. It's not like my bloodline requires me to kill B-rank beasts while at Tier 0, or that the Records will force anything, right?' Victor said with a smile, shaking his head—only to feel a chill run down his spine.

[Quest Update]

< Quest: Kill 50 Darkness-affinity B-Rank monsters while being at Tier 0 >

< Reward: Bloodline Awakening >

< Failure: Death >

[Locations of their nests on the lowest floor have been sent to your mind]

"…" Victor

"…" Camelia

Both of them froze in shock, staring at each other. Camelia's lips twitched when she saw his expression, while Victor's eyebrows began to twitch and veins bulged on his forehead. He swallowed nervously, looking like he wanted to cry but had no tears.

'Damn, my rotten mouth,' Victor cursed inwardly as he glanced at Camelia.

"Wow, not only did you get an impossible task to kill B-ranked monsters, but also Dark-affinity beasts — which are some of the most difficult to kill. Though their body parts sell for a very high price, even finding them is rare, yet you got the location of a nest. I don't know whether I should congratulate you for your luck or feel sorry for you," Camelia said in a speechless voice, staring at Victor.

'Just what kind of bloodline requires such conditions? But then again, it's a Primogenitor's bloodline. Maybe his predecessors had similarly harsh requirements. I shudder to think what his Tier advancement quest will be like… tsk, but I guess it makes sense — his bloodline will be broken once it's awakened,' Camelia thought, looking at Victor with a mix of pity and envy.

"…" Victor

Victor's lips twitched as he heard her words and saw the range of expressions flicker across her face — from envy to pity. He wanted to ask what there was to envy about having such a ridiculous quest.

'Camelia, do you have any idea how I can solve this problem?' Victor asked hopefully, which caused Camelia to roll her eyes at him.

"Help, my head… even I've never seen such a difficult task," Camelia said indifferently, but his next words made her glare at him.

'Tsk, I thought you were thousands of years old and at least competent. I didn't expect you to be useless,' Victor thought with a snort.

"Damn it, has no one ever taught you not to mention a lady's age?" Camelia huffed.

'But didn't you say you had many techniques, Miss High Ranker?' Victor asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I do, but I don't know if you'd survive killing that many… wait— it doesn't say you have to kill all of them at once, does it?" Camelia pouted, then paused.

'Eh, yeah, it doesn't… but still, killing B-rank monsters while being Tier 0 is suicide,' Victor said with a frown.

"Maybe not. If you take them down one by one, it's possible — but you should at least reach the peak of Tier 0 first," Camelia said after thinking for a moment.

'I guess you're right. But can you tell me more about Dark-affinity beasts?' Victor asked, since he didn't know much about them.

"First of all, Dark Beasts are extremely difficult to kill unless you have some kind of Light or Holy-based attacks. Though you can kill them without those, it will be very difficult. They're the most dangerous because they're extremely sneaky, and Darkness affinity is the best for assassins," Camelia said calmly.

'I see… so do you know any Light or Holy-based techniques?' Victor asked hopefully.

'If she doesn't, I'll have to ask Miss Amanda,' Victor thought.

"Of course I do! Who do you think you're talking to?" Camelia said with a snort.

While they were talking for a few minutes, Miss Amanda, who had been in a daze, snapped out of it and looked at Victor.

"I see… well, that was unexpected. I didn't expect you to join such an organization," Miss Amanda said calmly, to which Victor just shrugged his shoulders.

"By the way, Miss Amanda, can you help me register for the Adventurers Guild?" Victor asked, looking at her expectantly.

"You already have a license, don't you? You can just use your old one," Amanda said, giving Victor a curious look.

"No, Miss Amanda, I'd like to use a fake identity and register myself as a Dual Bloodline user. If you sponsor me, it'll be easier, and no one would target me openly as an unknown Dual Bloodline user," Victor explained calmly. He had already thought it through—if he used his old license, he wouldn't be able to use his Primogenitor power later and would be forced to rely only on sword and ice abilities. He didn't mind revealing it eventually, but he wanted to wait until he was stronger.

"So, you want to use me as a shield," Amanda deadpanned, then sighed as she looked at Victor's grinning face.
