Cassian's POV
Her eyes are wet, and she can barely lift her finger to point at me.
"You did it, didn't you?" Her voice shakes as she tries to firm the words in her mouth.
The lump in her throat and the tears pouring down her cheeks don't let her speak freely. But her eyes stay on me—her gaze weak but piercing.
"What is this about? The boy who died? You need to get over that…"
But the blood on her gown doesn't look like it's about Finch. Finch's body wouldn't still be gushing blood enough to stain anyone's clothes, and by now, the gammas must have buried him.
"You killed her… Cassian, you did…" she manages to say, struggling to breathe.
"What are you talking about?"
Her sobs grow louder.
Her feet lose grip on the floor, but she quickly supports herself with the door frame.
"Who died?"
"Rachel is the only friend I have… she became my family, but you… you took her from me…"
"Rachel… what happened to her?"
